Krillin from Dragonball Z. Sure he got his ass kicked a lot, but he had more heart than any 3 z fighters put together. Plus, the Destructo Disc is easily the coolest move EVER!
And at least yahtzee and MovieBob will agree on this one. Master Chief sucks! Bland, emotionless, and repetitive are the only words I can use to describe him.
The guy at school who hates Transformers 1 and especially 2. Seriously people, don't stone him because he's stating fact.
Luke Skywalker. I'm kind of tired of people calling him a whiny baby. Sure, that's how he was in A New Hope, but welcome to Storytelling 101: a character must be flawed at the beginning of a story so those flaws can be changed throughout the story, which is exactly what happens. Star Wars is a sort of coming-of-age story for Luke, and by the end he is amazingly more mature than at the beginning.
Not to mention after the events of the films, he pretty much single-handedly recreates the Jedi Order. Luke is hardcore.
On a side note, I didn't think Jar Jar killed the prequels. Come on people, he wasn't [i/]that[/i] bad.

Shadow the Hedgehog. Well ok he acted like a whiny emo **** in his own game but people hated him back in Sonic Adventure 2 when ultimately he was a nice person, just confused about his own motives/morals. Sort of.
