Characters everyone seems to hate but you

We've all had them. We play a game, take a liking to a character, only to find out most other people that played the same game hated them.

What are some of the characters you like while majority of other people hate them?
I have a tendency to like a lot of the characters no one else does. And I have no idea why.

Mine would be Steve (Resident Evil), Tidus (Final Fantasy X), and Vaan (Final Fantasy XII). An honorable mention would be Nowe (Drakengard 2). But every now and then, I'll come across people who liked him too. xD

I agree with Tidus and Vaan. It's not that I adore them or anything, it's just that I haven't really found much about them to find absolutely deplorable. Sure they are a bit naive and whiny at times, but hey who isn't. They're both young and new to the "hero" thing.

I dunno I thought he was kinda of a asshole, killing people just because they messed up in a painting. BUT I must say he's a fancy shot and has a great voice!

Oh he was most definitely an arse hole, but a likable one. For me at least.

I never liked Barnem anyway. Oh, right, spoilers.

Why do I know this will draw a lot of hate on this site. Oh, well, here goes...Cloud Strife. Seriously people, he does do quite a bit of whining, and has a mental breakdown. Having your love interest get impaled on a sword in front of you, then finding out that all the memories you have are not real, and that you are just a failed clone of the guy you are chasing this entire time will do that.

Also, he gets over it before the end of the game. One of the reasons I consider FFVII:AC, while an entertaining watch, to be non-canon.
