Characters that are a disgrace to gaming

Lets be honest here for a moment and say that there IS a character or characters in a game or games you find to be particularly annoying, either because they have a stupid hairstyle, bad voice acting, ugly face, smug attitude, far too macho, always play it cool, show more bust then action, whine and ***** about everything throughout the game, just look downright stupid for a game character, fall in love far too quickly, don't talk enough, talk too much, clearly wouldn't get laid in real life, etc etc etc, you get the idea.

So yes, who 'is that' or 'are these' annoying characters of which you wish to forget or never play as, against or with ever again, either an NPC, main character, antagonist or otherwise. State who, which game they are from, and why you find them a disgrace to gaming.

Well, I'll go ahead and say Duke Nukem. I know that it's satire and intentionally over-the-top, but he's still just about everything I hate about gaming protagonists. Though I do admit that I like the fact that he isn't as bland as a lot of heroes you come across.

First thing that pops into my mind is Cole from Infamous.

Infamous 1 or 2?

I'll admit he was a prick in 2, but in 1 he was an endearing relatable person who, in a split second and stroke of sudden fate became the sole person who could preserve and protect the entirety of humanity.

But yeah, I wanted to kick him in the balls in the second game.

I only played the first game because it was free and I still found nothing to like about him.

Alex Mercer. The absolute worst protagonist in any game. I didn't finish Prototype and his constant need to annoy me was one of the biggest reasons why.

Well, the Master chief has less personality and emotion than a cement block. he is the least interesting character i have ever come across, that of itself does not make for a bad character, but the way the fanboys treat him as bad-ass in hyper-condensed form. really puts me off the character.

Tidus's laughing was forced and scripted forced, but this... is just nightmare fuel.

Until I beat the game, I would have agreed. I wont think anyone wrong for not making it through, but once you realize whats up with him, he is just a selfish, heartless prick...though...once you know, he doesnt become good...it just makes it make sense.

Sir Boss: Have you read the books? I'm totally with most people, including you, when it comes to fanboys of anything. And I'm.. well the hell with it. I'll admit that the fanboys of Halo are a pain in the ass. Seriously. But the books are, in my opinion, amazingly fun to read; at least as far as video game stories go. And they really do flesh out the characters from the Halo series - fairly well, if I do say so myself.

Of course, the story is nothing originality-wise, but it's still a fun read.

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I totally forgot my OT post during the previous thought:

I HATE escort missions, as well as being stuck with stupid AI partners in any other way - whether they supposedly "actually help" or are SUPPOSED to sit back and scream like stupid.. AGH.. So: I hate Ashley (RE4) and I hate the female partner AI from Resident Evil 5 (can't even remember her name..).
