He was a much more interesting character than Count Doku (or however you spell it) and he was also the ONLY character that was actually interesting in The Phantom menace. DAMN YOU GEORGE LUCAS!

I thought he was very bland as a character, sure the backstory that they added later was interesting, but all he was was a puppet for Sidious to throw around before getting cut in half.

You didn't see that coming? Anybody that has any reasonable knowledge about Halo cannon would have seen that coming. In Halo 1 The Pillar Of Autumn is running from Reach, with the ONLY spartan that survived Reach on board.

And I know that this is at the end of A Crack in Time and he did get better (sort of) but Ratchet

i actually know a fair chunk about halo and iv'e read reach but there was no character development in the game every time some poor bastard got vaporised i was like "meh i didnt know the **** back to the pew pew pew".

That doesn't change the fact that everybody dieing in Reach isn't COMPLETELY PREDICTABLE.

you knew they were going to die but there was little to no character development so there was no actual care when they died.

They are battle hardened supersoldiers with one purpose - Defend Reach, and then Defend Cortana/Get Cortana to Keyes. Their character developed behind the scene's. What we see, is the developed character their training has turned them into to. Anyone whom has read the Halo books can get that pretty easily. I did.

He did get fucked over pretty bad there. I enjoyed his character and thought should've exploited his rage far more than they did, especially after trapping him in a grave for god knows how long. Arthur Petrelli could've stayed a bit longer too

YES, a part of me was hoping he would survive, he felt so damn genuine, I really wished that a miracle would happen even though I knew there was no chance.

Worst part about his death was that his last thoughts were about how much he loved Caska, yet she never knew and never will know how he truly felt about her.

I read Berserk on a regular basis, but I always skip the "Sacrifice" chapter: Reading it once was enough for me.

D'Angelo Barksdale. One of the most sympathetic and intelligent characters in the show, killed off halfway through the second series. I was sad when he died, but even sadder that nothing really came off his death, at least not initially.

oh shit, ninja'd. Also, the kid in the first season. I liked him. That was sad too.

The problem is that D would be in jail for the entire 5 seasons. About the kid, it sucks, but it was important for Bodey and Poot's development.

The best ones have already been said... Lavitz, Gandalf, Aeris (Aerith), L, most of the interesting characters and the well-thought-out plot and subplots from 'Heroes' (damn you, season 3!), Kamina, etc... so time for a different direction:

In the book Ghosts of Ascalon, several characters die well before their time. (You will be missed, zombie minions and disposable robot.)

Appropriate deaths for this are ones that have shock value. I find no shock in somebody dyeing that you completely expect to die, even characters you come to care about. Its like re-playing/reading/watching something, and being shocked at some important character dying again.

Exactly! But he was a man of duty, and even if Dart told him to not attack, he would have done what he could to save Albert.

Speaking of the Almighty Douchebag, I never used Albert once Lavitz died. Mainly because he took Lavitz's Jade Dragoon power. Also, because I was accustomed to Lavitz's combos, and Albert's were very different in timing.

To be honest, I used Dart, Rose, and Shana for a long time. Shana wasn't... horrible. But she was LoD's equivalent of a White Mage lol. Then, once she lost her power to that annoying chick, I started using Kongol, Rose, and Dart. Sometimes Meru. She wasn't that bad of a fighter, especially in Dragoon form.
