I thought the fact that he turned around and shanked the Elite in return after taking an entire energy sword through the torso told me all I needed to know about Emile. What a guy!

I think if he had showed up a little bit more during the game, his death would've had a bigger impact on the audience.

Agreed. An extra hour or two of having him in a party and doing a little adventuring would have been nice.

In all fairness, though, I find that video games are much better at killing characters than TV shows are.

In all fairness, though, I find that video games are much better at killing characters than TV shows are.

TV shows go on a lot longer than games so games can be more restricted. a few hours into a game could be a few season into a TV show so will seem a lot sooner in the game.
for me it would be more that people were killed off at all (like Jiraya and Asuma in Naruto) rather than too soon/late

You didn't see that coming? Anybody that has any reasonable knowledge about Halo cannon would have seen that coming. In Halo 1 The Pillar Of Autumn is running from Reach, with the ONLY spartan that survived Reach on board.

And I know that this is at the end of A Crack in Time and he did get better (sort of) but Ratchet

Well, I do think L's death was necessary. However, Near and Mello were shit and won purely by luck.
