Please use actual quotes and do not exaggerate the character.
Lots of these quotes would just be transcribing entire conversations or measuring tone.
(If you played ME2 with the sound off I can see how you might not think Miranda is crazy.)
PS: "I don't know what the Illusive Man sees in you" is a quote.
Quote 1 Miranda: If I was running the show I would have done a few things differently (Like what?) To start I would have implanted you with some type of control chip.

Quote 2 Miranda: No doubt you've got a lot of questions, Cerberus isn't as evil as people believe. If I can help belay any of your concerns I'd be happy to do so.
and
Quote 1 Shep: I'd like to know a little about you. Miranda: Worried about my credentials? I can crush a mech with my biotics or shoot it's head off from 20 paces. Take your pick
Flip to
Quote 2 Shep: Tell me about yourself Miranda. Miranda: Oh, that's fair, I've spent the last two years learning everything there is to know about you.
and
Quote 1: I don't know what the Illusive Man sees in you.
Flip to
Quote 2: You're practically a perfect bloody human specimen.
There are a ton more but I don't want to read through an entire transcript of the game. Suffice to say the tone of each conversation with her flips around wildly.
You also stated that she behaves like a slut most of the time. What gave you this impression.
Okay. I can see that you've never played Mass Effect 2. I forgive you for wasting both of our times.
Also you mentioned never sided with her but still she still does that thing at the end of ME2. That would likely be a mix of "Even evil has standards", "Heel realization" and possibly a bit of "My god, what have I done", (see tvtropes.com for the lines in the quotes).
I can get behind writing designed to jerk the viewer around, but it should at least make sense in hindsight.
Miranda is Cerberus's biggest fan now when they ask for the thing they sent you after at the start of the game (The thing they spent billions for a way to procure, the thing Miranda was the project head on.) Her loyalty flips. It's out of nowhere, it just is. You can not try to tell me she was surprised to learn that Cerberus wanted to use the Collector base.
About part where you mentioned her "selfish" quests, i'm curious as to why you find it fishy that she wanted access to alliance resources. It also seemed to me that she was trying to warn people of the spoiler place and save her sister, (not her clone) at the same time. If you evidence to the contrary please show me if you respond to this.
You're telling me the Oriana Lawson in Mass Effect 3 isn't a clone of Miranda, even though the one in Mass Effect 2 is? Uh, do you know something I don't?
The reason she went to Sanctuary was to rescue Oriana and kill her father, not to warn the people. She did send out the distress beacon. Or she tried to.
If she survives Sanctuary note that she leaves with Oriana with out turning off the communication scrambler. Shepard has to do that. So yes, extremely selfish.
Now lines about Miranda and her acting like a spoiler brat.

"I used to be the Illusive Man's Favorite" "Cerberus doesn't do anything wrong. I know that for a fact because I like Cerberus!"
Again please do not exaggerate the character. If you wish to describe a character, do not describe something which is not the character. I will concede that her opinions of Pragia to be highly questionable but she most certainly never says anything like that.
The scene is in an early romance option
Miranda: The Illusive Man has given you everything...
Shepard: What you disapprove?
Miranda: No, I'm just impressed, look at you (Varies depending on background). You've accomplished more than me despite everything my father did to make me perfect.
Couple that with some of the earlier "Control chip" conversations and you've got the recipe for either schizophrenia or blatant manipulation
in the first half of the game all she does is brag about how perfect she is. in the second half all she does is complain about how perfect she is. I don't think it was bad writing I think she was supposed to be a childish spoiled brat.
As for the other line.
Jack: The cheer leader won't admit what Cerberus did to me was wrong.
Miranda: That wasn't Cerberus, not really. But clearly you were a mistake.
Then if you challenge her.
Shepard: Are we good?
Miranda: Not even remotely.
She can't fathom something she's put her name on could do anything bad. Then when you confront her she just pouts.
A little later in the game you talk about the ME1 experiments on Rachnai and Thorian creatures and she backpedals over all that too.
I guess to keep the thread on track...
Another character I hate is Dom from the Gears of War games.
If you want to make somebody less likable than Marcus Fenix all you have to do is make him shoot his wife in the face.
