Raiden from the Metal Gear series, truly an irritating example of injecting new life into a game but when your replacing someone like Snake, its quite difficult.

Also I'd like to point out I liked him in MGS2 as the blonde, domestic-arguing gymnast before his "badass" reload in MGS4. Why? I identified with him, being put in a new situation and being mentored by Pliskin effectively combined driving the plot and the introduction of a new audience.
Thank You. Finally someone understands the point of his character. :)
Than again I don't see why he shouldn't be liked, unless people are really whiny fanboys.

Big props go out to Hans Landa, of course...

Ozymandias is my other main choice. He stopped the apocalypse by destroying 1/3 of the world. The lives he saved were worth the lives he took...

Darth Vader, of course, as well as the Emperor just for being so over-the-top badass. Exar Kun is my freaking HERO!

Oh yeah, and Simon Gruber from Die Hard: With a Vengeance. My favorite of the Die Hard movies.

Jaime Lannister from A Song of Ice and Fire (not just since the third book)
Hear hear! If you forget about the you-know-what, he's the most awesome blonde walking around Westeros.

I'd like to contribute Mr. Wednesday, from American Gods.

Anders from DA2. I know. Shoot me.
At least he has the fucking BALLS to do something. (Even if it was bat-shit crazy.)

Probably... Luca Blight.

He's just such an epic villain. You can take or leave all your mainstream Sephiroths and Kefka's, nobody compares to Luca Blight.

Most villains go down to a party of adventurers.

Luca Blight took 3 entire parties of 6, several squads of archers and a one on one duel with a hero bearing half of the rune of beginning, which created the world.

Magneto, because he really does reverberate off of what most people would do in his situation.
It is wrong to find Magneto one of the deepest, most understandable and likeable characters in X-Men? DAMNIT!
Yes, Magneto is... situationally evil, but when you look at the whole over-arching story, it is hard not to see him as someone who is (ironically enough) profoundly human. Someone who epitomises what it means to be a flawed being attempting to do what, through their experience, they see as right.

Also: My avatar (for those not acquainted with him through those green matrix filters, that is Darth Maul, he is spit-roasting an Agent right now). He is Evil, has a few lines and looks like the Star Wars demon, but he is kick-ass.

Sentinel Prime. I know he's an asshole in the third movie and a traitor but fuck, he looks awesome.

Probably Knightmare from the Soul Calibur series. Ok he is a hated character but he is the bad guy for wanting to make Sould Edge complete but he look so cool in a menacing kind of way. Also he I good at using him (well not anymore).

Plus, since he was voiced by Spock, I never saw his betrayal coming... My GOD, what a wonderful twist...

According to GameSpot/GameFAQs, I should have my head examined for liking Ashley Williams from Mass Effect.

Also, the only other person I can think of off-hand is Frieza/Freezer from, of course, DragonBall Z. He was an evil bastard who'd kill invalids, women, and children in a heartbeat, but goddamn if he didn't look cool doing it. And I love his design. And he's one of the few Japanime (or whatever term you prefer) characters where his English voice actually suited him better than his original Japanese voice (or so I choose to believe).

Eh, I think Nightmare was cooler as a possessed Siegfried. He had clear motives: the sword is telling him to "gather souls" so he can bring his father back to life. Over time it turned poor Siegfried into an insane, murderous butcher of his former self.

Now that Nightmare is literally just sealed evil in a can [http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/SealedEvilInACan], he (or it, your choice) is just kinda there for contrast against the designated good guys.

Keep in mind this is just how I look at it. Feel free to disagree.

If there is ANYTHING good about Transformers 3 it's:

1)Optimus Prime
2)Leonard Nimoy
3)Sentinel Prime

There are ALOT of bad things and these don't make up for them. Deep wanging Spock, Deep wanging Transformers by making it about Shia La Boeuf and Ken Jeong playing a character called Deep Wang...why are Michael Bay and Ehren Kruger raping my childhood?

[insert a random Song of Ice and Fire character here].

Seriously, there are no villains in this series. Even Viserys, Joffrey, Theon, The Hound, Tywin Lannister, and Walder Frey have in-depth reasons for their actions.

TO some extent I personally think the most immoral POV character...

I can't finish that sentence. There are none in this series. Everyone is so grey.
