Characters you liked that seem to have universal hatred

-Lightning and Vanille from FFXIII. I can't quite get my head around why people hate these characters. Lightning spends a lot of her time punching Snow, which is a plus, and Vanille spends a lot of her time being manic, which is also a plus. Better that than getting all mopey like Hope.

-Morrigan from DA:O. I loved how she wasn't really tsundere at all. She really is just kind of cruel and weird, while still capable of emotion. And yet, a lot of people hated her. No accounting for taste, I guess.

Teddie, Rise and Yosuke - Persona 4
Ashly and Kaiden - Mass Effect
Reaver - Fable 2
The entire cast apparantly - FFVII and VIII
Tidus, Yuna, Rikku and Wakka - FFX
Apparantly the entire cast - Dragon Age: Origins and Awakening
Raiden and Rose - MGS2, though I did start to dislike rose in 4 a little.
Jar Jar and Anakin - SW Ep1, I just didn't hate them.

Do people really hate Rise and Yukari? I mean, you could argue that Yosuke is bit of a dick sometimes and that Junpei is.. well, also kind of a dick. Fuuka was saddled with some absolutely terrible voice acting courtesy of Mela Lee, so she automatically became quite annoying.. And I will confess that I hated Teddie's voice. A lot.

But Rise? She was my favorite character in P4. Yeesh.

The Little Lamplight kids.

Seriously, I loved them all (except Princess). It was by far my favorite resting/shopping/exploring town.

People hated that town? That was actually pretty cool(except for Princess) That place was just interesting. You know, kids living alone in a post apocalyptic world was a good idea, at least it didn't go all lord of the flies. Wait, that would actually be pretty cool....

It's because people on this site detest children, I think. And also because they arrived with low speech skills/without the Child at Heart perk.

Jacob from Mass Effect 2. (I hate, hate, hate Miranda & Jack. HATE. Even after their loyalty missions.)

Desmond & Altair from Assassin's Creed. I like them both more than Ezio, to be honest.

Kaiden from Mass Effect 1. (Fuck you, Ashley. Fuck you!)

Personally, I like Navi. She gets unnecessary flak and people always overlook Ezlo from Minish Cap.

I've always loved Navi, to the extent that I nicknamed one fo my friends navi one day when they were poking me in the shoulder shouting "Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Listen! Hey! Hey! Hello?"

Awesome part: They'd never played Zelda in their life.

So I'm not the only one with a friend like that!

I thought Roman from GTA4 was pretty funny.

Especially when he had to be hospitalised when I crashed the helicopter to take him bowling.

for some reason, i found myself really identifying with Vanille and Hope from Final Fantasy 13. Oh, and Rubi Malone from WET. She's a legend.

Yeah, she was just bugging me one day and I said "Okay there Navi" and it stuck. She's awesome, and now we have a few youtube clips that we send to one another whenever we talk.

The characters from the new Medal of Honor. I got sick of hearing reviews about beards and how they say 'fuck' a lot and that you're only there to kick in doors. To respond to these: 1. Covert Ops usually have beards 2. Every soldier says 'fuck', its called immersion 3. If you watch a few trailers, they tell you you are a BREACHER. Kicking in doors is what you do.

You'd be suprised, I don't know why they get so much hate myself but you do hear a lot of it about.

Cait Sith from Final Fantasy VII. I honestly don't understand why people hate him so much. I actually thought he was pretty cool. In fact in my latest playthrough of FF7, I actually found him to be pretty decent magic user.

Also the main cast for Final Fantasy XIII. I've recently started playing the game, and so far I actually liked them. Sure, Hope is very negative and somewhat annoying in the beginning and middle of the game, but he does develop and evolve throughout. (Not to mention gets a pretty cool looking summon.)

The Mako from ME. I found this thing a joy to drive

Well it's not really a character, but I agree! I loved driving that thing around. If I had one complaint it's that there wasn't much variety in the terrain that you got to drive on among the non-main quest planets.
