Just to clarify, YES I am being slightly stereotypical, and NO I'm not accusing everyone who 'lives the chav lifestyle' (as it were) of being a bad person, I'm just wondering how far the 'chav lifestyle' spread.

To clarify, I mean tracksuit-wearing, cheap booze-drinking, fake jewellery-wearing teenagers (or indeed older/younger). I'm British and it's a big problem over here. They are generally the cause for most of the vandalism, illegal drug-taking and all sorts of other nasty stuff in the country.

Basically, where do you come from, and do you have chavs? Feel free to discuss :)

I too am British from Rotherham (fattest town in the U.K for any one who would like to know :D) actually and yes they are a big problem but I do not think that they have spread anywhere out of britain.

I've heard people mentioning Eastern-European chavs, and I'm curious if the 'trend' has spreaded.

Haven't seen anything like that here in Oklahoma. Probably too sophisticated for all the people who think they're cowboys here. Though, we do have our fair share of annoying hipsters... so maybe it's only a matter of time.

I'm just trying to see how far they have gone all over the world. Out of equal parts interest and annoyance.

Neds? Interesting. Where does that nickname come from?
Non-Educated Delinquents, I believe.

I described the typical chav to a few people in Australia when I was over there - they apparently call them "douchebags".

Plenty of them here in Northampton however there are also a lot more wannabe chavs that I have seen compared to a lot of other places.

I can get behind cheap booze drinking!

Track suits though.... Nope.

I can honestly say I haven't seen anyone fitting that description, In Florida.

I see a lot of people I WTF at daily, I don't have specific categories.

But yeah, I think we got them here in Holland. We call them sjonnies or tjappies. The female ones are referred to as breezers, after the alcoholic drink you pay them with for stickin' your dick in 'em. Their ages range from 14 to 17. It's a disturbing but somehow fascinating trend. In the same way 'Brave New World' was interesting.
