Okay so first off yes i know that's a terrible subject-but it did get ya looking ;)

I'm looking for a new game or two to help while away the time but i'm not looking for another grey-fest gunslinger etc... sooooo:
Does anyone have any recommendations for some xbox games that fill these categories?
1) Under £25 ($40)
2) Goes on xbox.
3) Is different/ maybe not triple A
4) Has some replay value
5) available in UK

Yes i have seen the EC games you might not have tried btw :)
If you really really wanna help me out with this can tell you what games i have already tried :)

Thanks oh knowledgeable ones! :)

Catherine
Dark souls
Rayman Origins
Spelunky (XBLA)

These are all really good games and, while I'm sure you know of at least three of them, I very rarely meet a person that has played all of them.

(Assuming you want 360 games and not original xbox)

Why not try some of the indie games or the best games in the Xbox Live Arcade. I personally recommend you play Bastion, Plants vs Zombies, or even Worms: Armageddon 2.

"Cheap and Fun?" Are you talking about my wife?!?!!??

Anyway, Prototype. Mindless, but fun.

Dust: an Elysian Tail is pretty good if you can stomach furries and poor dialogue.
Minecraft (better on the PC, but still).

Mercenaries 2. Great game for living the 90's action flick fantasy.

You do mean the 360 right?

I have recently been playing the xbla game Dust an Elysian tale, it is £10 and is surprisingly good value for money. The characters are cute and lovable and the visuals are gorgeous, the side scrolling combat is simple but allows for good combos and variation. It is as about as far removed from shooters as you get.

I really like Deadly Premonition and i think you should totally try it. I mean, it looks and plays like a game that would have been on the Playstation 2 but it's still a favourite of mine.

Xbox 360, look at the arcade and highly rated games you missed out on. I did this with Castle Crashers and Red Dead Redemption and both were brilliant games. It's best for older games to go for single player as their multiplayers will inevitably be dead. Brutal Legend might be worth a punt as I reckon it will only be £12-17 nowadays.

If you mean Xbox, Go buy Timesplitters. Seriously, buy it. Invite you friends round to play Virus and dick around fighting monkeys with bricks. Buy it. It's my most beloved franchise of all time and deserves to still exist. EVEN IF YOU MEANT XBOX 360 BUY AN ORIGINAL XBOX AND PLAY IT!

Trials Evolution, if you're talking about the 360. Only costs 1200MP (£10), is great fun, and the editor the designers used to make the game is packaged with it so user levels are constantly uploaded onto the servers guaranteeing brand new levels for as long as there is a community - therefore excellent replay value.

I thought this thread was about girls.

Bastion. It's excellent and should be cheap. And I guess it's available for Xbox too, *brushing off imaginary dirt off PC gaming master race shoulders*.

Any game genre from the arcade is fine.

Xboxlive indie: Scorerush, shoot 1 up, revolver 360 (80msp each)

XBOXLive,

Guardian Heroes HD (unique sega saturn brawler with branching paths)
Pacman CE DX, plays quite differently to the old pacman, one of the most highly rated XBLA games on metacritic
Nin2Jump it's cheap at 400msp and has an unque spin on the speedrunner platformer
Might & Magic: Clash of Heroes, puzzle/ chess / jrpg hybrid.
Hardcorps Uprising, Contra but with an added casual mode with upgrades.
Xotic, (It's a FPS but not in the way most ppl think of a fps, it's more like an oldschool highscore game very replayable, IIRC just got slashed to 400msp

Boxed (dirt cheap from amazonUK)

Vanquish (with it's short SP campaign this game is designed more like an arcade game.)
Binary Domain (improves upon Gears, full length campaign but with different team mates and endings.
Deathsmiles Its a shmup can't get more replayable than that, lots of different game modes and it's very noob friendly. (hint choose lv1 or 2 difficulty on 2 stages or it will rape you)
Kingdoms of Amalur for a SP WRPG at £15 new you wont find more bang for your buck anywhere else, the amount of content almost puts Bethesda to shame (i'm 25hrs in and i'm still in the 1st of the 5 regions)

For dirt Dirt cheap try Xbox 1 games many don't work on PAL 360s (we got the short end of the stick there) but you can read this wiki
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Xbox_games_compatible_with_Xbox_360

Ninja Gaiden Black, Crimson Skies.

You can also buy some good XBLA games in boxed format, type in Trials HD in the amazon searchbar, (lumunes is another)

depends
Xbox or Xbox 360?
because I recently saw a pretty sweet Xbox FPS called Breakdown and it was pretty obscure
