As a Capitalist I say SO WHAT!

Like everyone says, there are other options.

As long as you personally get the games you want at a decent price, who cares.

Duh, really? A corporation wants to make as much money as possible.

Jesus, it's a business not your mommy.

I've never had any trouble with my local Gamestop... it seems I'm lucky in that regard. I know many of the people who work there from school, as well.

I bought Assassin's Creed for PC a couple of months ago from Xtravision. The disc looked fine, but the game didn't work. It may have been the disc, but since I bought it new, I figured it was my video card. I returned it.

I bought Assassin's Creed for Xbox 360 a few weeks ago from Xtravision for a tenner. It was used, and the disc had a few scratchs, but nothing too bad. Started playing it, awesome game, finished the first level. The second level starts loading. A message comes up: Disc is unreadable. I'm still too depressed to return it.

Assassin's Creed hates me.

Near my humble place, it's awesome. Let me give you ideas moving to where I live: Okay, first there's HMV. They're great for opening day. First thing in the morbing, up on the shelves...the smell of new game. Quite cheap generally, too. Also, why not pick up a few novelty posters, to?

Secondly, there's a Toys R Us esque toy shop. WITH A MASSIVE GAMING SECTION. Seriously, they have games on every platform from the last two generations (except Dreamcast) unblelivably cheaply. My brother got a 360 game for ten pounds. TEN POUNDS. However: the new games always end up a few days off launch day, unless it's Uber Mainstream.

So, wether I want a PS2 gem or a brand new one, I have the choice.

You guys get Gamestop.

Happened to me when I bought an ex-rental game in Blockbusters in the UK. Just took it back in and they were happy to swap it. Guess someone must have rented it, swapped the game for a fake, then just returned it. That's what you get for employing people without any knowledge of what they are selling.
