gotta agree, I don't think I could ever explain it to someone who doesn't play the games (or even worse, video games themselves) but the games are a beautiful cheesy mess that I love consuming.

this entire scene has basically become a trigger for me because of how many times I had to retry this stupid fight, but damn if it's cheesiness doesn't get me still.

I hate that line so so so so very much it makes me want to kill all puppies and newborns within my vicinity, so in a way it is a kind of love?
Also the more you think about it, the funnier it gets.

Not entirely related, but anything with the word "ascension" in has been ruined forever by Yahtzee's "asstension" line. Like poison in my mind.

I was quoting the "it's a beautiful day outside" speech from Undertale's genocide run the other day, and my friend (who hadn't played it) said he thought I was quoting Frank Underwood. Now I want them to find a way to work that speech into season 4 of House of Cards. It would make sense, he's a gamer on the show, and he'd probably go straight for the genocide run without paying any mind to the pacifist run at all.

Anyway, that's my current favourite cheesy game quote. That and every line in Metal Gear Rising, and every line out of Micolash from Bloodborne.

Such an emotionally impactful scene and then suddenly, THAT line happens. And you start to laugh at how dumb it is, but really don't want to, because it shows just how freakin' INNOCENT the guy is.

I see all the big hitters (Resident Evil, Kingdom Hearts, The sonic Aventure games) are all here, so...

It's been 2 years so I don't have an exact 100% quote, but Of Orcs and Men (and the prequel Styx Master of Shadows) has a few deliciously hammy characters, and some lines that just makes you grin and cringe at the same time. XD

These are the only ones I can really remember from either game off the top of my head:

On top of that, they're both really fun games. If ya'll haven't played them, you should.

The difference being that at least Sheogorath is supposed to be cheesy.

As for my nomination, I'll go with the ultimate classic:

Since all the easy ones are taken... just about everything from Metal Arms: Glitch in the System's foul mouthed, ill-tempered fix-it droid, Krunk.

Glitch: "I thought you were captured."
Krunk: "I escaped, dumbass, these s--t heads couldn't hold a conversation! Now jump up here and we'll find that chip."
Glitch: "I can't, it's too high."
Krunk: "It's too high, my head fell off... it's always something with you bots!"

He even gives Glitch crap for saying 'head him off at the pass.' Pity there won't likely be a sequel.

Ah yes! The mutton man! Throughout my whole playthrough he intrigued me. He followed my party wherever we went, always one step ahead, but he had no interest in politics or conflict, man just wanted to sell his lamb meat.

One of the most complex NPCs I've ever encountered. I was sad he didn't return in the sequel.



On topic, most of my choices have already been addressed by others, which makes me happy, though I remember encountering one when I was still a teenager that made me laugh and laugh.

I think it was from "Shadow the Hedgehog", but if not, it was at least said by that character.

"Where's that DAMN fourth chaos emerald!?"

That single line remains to this day a glorious example of one of the biggest problems video game writing has. The gratuitous cursing, the over-the-top attempt to be edgy, the brooding anti-hero mc. It's kinda sad how applicable the humor I found in this quote remains, even ten years later.
