It's still a computer generated image and as such I cannot find it sexy at all.
The same pixels that make up that image can be recolored to show an image of the most beautiful girls from the real world. The source of the pixels shouldn't matter, only the image they make.

I don't think the tank top makes her any sexier... But anyway, I don't really care what she looks like, it's a first person game.

Source of cover? Looks fake to me.
Recent ARG thing, it unloaded a fair bit of concept art.

The design may be slightly off, but that's pretty close to how Chell looks now.

...What's wrong with her eyes?

The look has been noticeably altered. The long Fall boot, as advertised in the most recent investment opportunity advert, also looks a fair bit like a springy high heel. The comics even have her cheeks and face looking rosier.

So, whaddya think, is Chell going to be one of the new gals people end up linking in threads about 'hottest vidya game character' and what not?
I like the new look, its sexy but not slutty.

People need to know the difference.

I should have made it more clear that I would only consider a computer generated image one that has been specifically designed by somebody rather than being an actual picture of someone. Though i'm almost definitely wrong about the actual definition of it, I couldn't think of another word.

The lowered jumpsuit top-half is actually meant to be seen as her being more free and less as part of a a science experiment like she was in Portal 1.

She was placed in the pod before the 7 hour war in the Half-Life timeline, I think it's a few months after that that Portal 2 takes place.

You see, I hope they scratched that idea, and only had it as the difference in time between Half-Life 1 and Half-Life 2, meaning that they'd interconnect more, but that's just my fanboy wish.

I'll wait to see the game to see what Chell actually looks like. Going from old-engine screenshots to new render quality shots is not really a fair comparison. It wouldn't surprise me that they're going to bring her closer in line to the model they based her off of though.

What happened to the original design of Portal 2 Chell, of this?

I guess they wanted fanservice, as this design does creep me out.

She's kinda looking like Rochelle from Left 4 Dead 2.
That one looks like a cosmonaut.
I do love the redesign, though. Nice and sexy.

I was quoting it from the Wikipedia page meaning it hasn't been scraped and to show that is hasn't. Besides I doesn't say how much time has past since Half Life 2.

Yes, but Valve haven't revealed anything about the story recently, and the change in design to a less robotic-styled outfit seems to fit the bill of 'not as far into the furture as we thought'.

EDIT: F**k, PubClub membership's expired, must renew it at some point...

I still wouldn't put money on them changing their mind. Also they already released the story, well the basic idea, at last years E3 and many other times. Hell the trailers show that quote is right.

I'm not seeing that much of a difference, apart from the obvious quality in rendering. She just partially stripped her jumpsuit away, and is now revealing more with that tanktop.

Waitwhat? How does that work? Half Life 2 didn't take place that far in the future [http://half-life.wikia.com/wiki/Timeline_of_the_Half-Life_universe], and according to the same timeline Portal takes place a wee bit before Half Life 2. If it'd take place several hundred years after Portal, it'd take place several hundred years after Half Life 2 too. The timeline seems to suggest that as well.
