Child Abuse Awareness on Facebook

I don't generally involve myself in charity events, especially not ones the charity wasn't even aware of. Changing a picture will stop angry parents damaging their kids in some way? I laugh directly in the face of whoever started this. It was almost certainly started just as a joke to see how many people they could fool into changing their display pictures and I'm having none of it.

But...the thread wants to know the picture I'd choose, so it's currently a tie between:

and

This is who I used. Only two people actually knew who he was. Makes me sad.

Also, I didn't even know this was for a charity. I just figured "Hey, here's a chance to be goofy with my profile pic." :p

I changed my pic to Freakazoid, but not because I actually knew about the "awareness campaign". I just saw everyone else changing theirs and jumped on the bandwagon 'cause I wanted an excuse to be Freakazoid.

Honestly, it's not like this is going to help anyone. No child is going to be helped, so I'm just doing it because it's fun, not out of some illusion that I'm on a noble quest to end child abuse.

I wouldn't. I go help out at the Refuge House which helps out abuse victims or donate to an organization dedicated to helping kids. Seems a lot more productive to me.

Oh god, I remember that (show/movie)?
I would choose one of my favorite cartoon characters

I'm Noddy.

I see little point in the campaign due to the fact that it is supposed to raise awareness while most people on Facebook are already aware.

But, I like Noddy so I thought I might as well.

Yeah, I'm strongly anti-social networking site. So I will not be particilating.

That being said, IF I did, my avatar would be the same as mine is here....and on every other site I post on, so I wouldn't change it.

I've got Liono from Thundercats. Its odd seeing as I'm 15 and none of my friends know who it is, but I loved that show!

Yeah it's pretty stupid. Still, I chose the Cookie Monster!

Things won't stop just because people change pictures on Facebook.

... hit it on the head nicely!

I chose Bender, from Futurama. Yes, technically I was introduced to that in my childhood and I loved that bastard robot :p

Maybe not the most appropriate cartoon character from the standpoint of what this movement aims to accomplish, but I saw so many of my friends using the same ones that I felt a slightly different one was necessary. Plus, I had a really shiny picture of Bender. I mean...reaaaaaally shiny.

Here is the pic I used.

Gotta have a little fun right? :p

I didn't even know what it was for. Just saw a bunch of friends going along with it and decided to join in. Harmless fun.

I thought about this, and I still can't quite figure out how exactly changing one's Facebook picture is going to make a difference. Therefore, I'm abstaining, especially after the Pokemon thing last week. The last thing I want to do is encourage more of this shit: if something is successful on that site, it'll be copied, and before long you have ten thousand turban-related groups.
