back when I was 15, one guy stabbed another with a fountain pen at our school. Wasn't deep, but still, wtf.

While nobody at my school has been stabbed for a stupid reason all the grades below mine are full of little gangster-ass kids that live a life so hard they have to express themselves by association with a gang.

I live in a town of 5,000 people. I know for a fact these kids would end up dead if they actually tried to join the gang they claim relationship to.

DOOOMED I tell you

But seriously stabbing a mother while holding a baby is insane!
gives more meaning, "crazy *****"

Damn at least set your baby down! Don't want blood splattering onto it!

Anyway, violence happens, in or out of school, regardless of age.

I like children, I enjoy their company, but I will NEVER underestimate a child. I can remember being little and having insane thoughts. Children are prone to psychotic thought because their brains are just coming into focus. 1st rule, don't make fun of the kid with bad breath and glasses b/c he will likely be the one doing the stabbing. 2nd, Don't try and annoy any kid that writes or day dreams, they are unstable. 3rd, Carma is a *****. Remember the 3rd one b/c bullys always tend to die in horrible ways. (Stabbing for instance).

Stabbings weren't a big problem in my school until the Somalis started moving in. That's not to say ALL Somalis stab people, but there was a dramatic increase in them after about 500 or so were enrolled in my high school.

I think it's been culled since the administration installed like 100+ CCTV cameras in the halls, but around the city, violence is also on the rise. So much for extending olive branches to refugees. Normal people don't stab each other when there is a disagreement.

So, has a conflict at your school resulted in someone getting seriously hurt? Do you think the years below yours are becoming groups of assholes?
No, my mum has stories of kids at her primary school stabbing each other to death. That was Hackney in the 60's, Hackney now and... kids are still stabbing each other to death.

It's not that anything is changing, just that as you get older your view of the world expands and you start to notice things you never saw before, like that people beyond your circle of friends can be complete arse holes. Age doesn't really come into it.

I also think their is an element of globalisation at play here. 150 years ago that event would probably have reached you in Sydney, but not us in Europe or the US. Now you hear about almost every event like that in the western world. The nature of communication has changed such that it's possible and near instant, so you see and hear about more.

I haven't heard of any stabbings at my school, mainly just people getting thrown through a window or something along that line. I fully agree that the younger years are turning into even worser pompus little bastards.
Every day the idea of mutilating one of those jerks with a spatula is becoming even more enlightening.
Why a spatula?

but indeed, younger years are getting far too full of themselves... I have SO MANY URGES just to put on some shades, bring in a baton, and scream "RESPECT MAH AUTHORITAH!" in their faces

I don't know of any incidents of stabbing in my school. Somewhere else in the county, one kid brought a gun to school. He told one of his friends about it, and his friend turned him in. No one was injured.

Apparently the 13yr old was the victim of bullying and thus warranted stabbing the 12yr old boy. Now I was severely bullied through primary school and never felt any sudden or thought out urges to murder someone.
Lies, you just repressed it, so it built inside of you, like a little tiny team pot of sheer hatred and sullen rage, waiting to boil over, and explode, like a giant inflammed zit, all over whoever may be pissing you off at the moment.

I don't know about stabbings, but my teacher got so frustrated he punched a window. He later learned it was safety glass due to his broken hand.

Yeah, we've had shit go down in our school, but the nastiest battles are fought with words. I'm senior getting ready to graduate in 3 months and I fear for the people I leave behind. College is going to be a major *****, but at least the drama will considerably lessen.

I was majorly bullied through elementary school and I think the only time I got really violent was after I got beat up outside my own house. I took a baseball bat to one of the kids head and slammed the other kid into a brick wall. I only got yelled at by my mother and a detention at school.

I think that as we go on, we'll notice kids getting more violent, but the parents are to blame in that instance. Parents never stop to think that if they argue in front of their kid is could cause some major repercussions that will be felt across society at some point. But, we can do anything to change it, beside forced castration in some cases.

I've had knife threats, gun threats, gang war threats, bomb threats and even a threat of detention, but none of them went through.

Ah, the myth of childhood innocence. Children are just as crazy as adults, don't underestimate them.

After all, those who committed the Columbine massacre were technically children. One of them at least.

Anyway, yes there was once a stabbing at my school.

Sadly, I was the one doing it. Didn't work though. I'm calm now.

Although, one time this fellow hit a teacher in the head with a jar and broke his jaw. I wasn't there for that though.
They are just as crazy as the adults they are around, so it may be good, but usually pretty bad...

Children are as fucked up as their stupid parents are.

On February 12, 2008, Lawrence "Larry" King, a 15 year old junior highschool student was shot twice by a classmate at E.O. Green School in Oxnard, California. He was taken off life support after doctors declared him brain dead on February 15 According to Associated Press reports, "prosecutors have charged a 14-year-old classmate with premeditated murder with hate-crime and firearm-use enhancements".
