That actually happened in my school just last week. 2 boys got suspended because they were selling soft drink cans and packets of chips for cheaper than what the school canteen sells them for.
Then they should spend more time in Math class. Markup! ;)

Do you think they get cold roast chicken if they don't have any crisps?

A bit over the top I think. Hell I used to sell porn to everyone at my school and all they did was tell me to stop. Never got in trouble for it or a suspension even though it was expulsion worthy.

chuck out all he junk food. Anyone who gets caught selling food now gets isolation I think.
It is stupid though, schools tell kids to think for themselves but then piss their pants when the kid does the opposite of what they want them to do.

So so so very glad I"m not the only one to notice this. Even back in kindergarten I was like "But wait...what if myself isn't what you said to be?"

OT: The punishment is definately a bit harsh. I think maybe the school is trying to make an example of him, to scare other would-be sellers.

Selling to the teachers always works best ;)

A chip ban?

This has got to be a horrible, horrible joke. If they had a chip ban when I was in highschool I just might have started a riot. When I come back from my lunch break hankerin' for a bag of Doritos, I want a bag a effing Doritos, ok?

Hey, I heard your the guy that sells the goods

...Cheese and Onion...Walkers.
Your avatar really, really works with that. It's like your avatar was chosen just for that post.

However, OT : People at my school sell stuff, and it's fine, because they're only bloody crisps.

What kind of school denies education to entrepreneurs?

Let's tell the kids to be open minded yet stop them from doing anything we don't like.

Honestly - the kids will be good if you give them freedom - or they will be little shits and they will be punished by the real law; either way - the good ones go on to be tolerant and free while the bad ones go on to be intolerant and in jail.

Odds are they obtain the goods from elsewhere, then markup less than the school store did while still maintaining a profit margin.

I gotta hand in to the kid, great job on taking advantage of a situation. If I ever had a kid like that he would definitely become on of my role models.

Parents have the final say in the upbringing of their child. School's only purpose of existance is education.

Man after my own heart bro.

after my highschool banned junk foods and turned to "healthy eats", we had to find ways of bringing in our own because the cafeteria food was literally unbearable to stomach (healthy is NOT a synonym for discusting). The only difference is that no one was caught eating 'em or selling them (they didn't mark them up either, which was decent).

i fucking love the UK *HUGE SARCASM*

but seriously, with the state of this country, why does EVERYONE think this country is the dogs bollocks?
It's not just the UK. Over here in the States, they're going on about healthy food in schools and such as well. I think it's just less widespread here.
unlucky. seems to me the USA is changing too, for the worse. :(
