Hecate stirred slightly, he dark eyes flitting open. She was in the back of a van, surrounded by several youths, some of which she remember from the chamber.

The chamber!

She tried to ready a spell, but found her hands and feet had been bound. Her face flared into an expression of anger as she cursed and kicked.

"Untie me, boy! And maybe I shall spare your life!"

Although she liked to think of herself as immensely powerful, she could do naught without the use of her hands. As she struggled and squirmed, Prometheus came back to the van, shooting her a serious look.

"Alright; guys are in the first door to the right, girls in the second. I'll leave the keys here on the dashboard. Girls key is pink."

He put the keys down before reaching into the back, and dragging Hecate to the front. Lifting her over his shoulder, he spoke to the others.

"Myself and Hecate are going to have a small chat by the pool; I suggest you get some sleep."

He left the van, backpack on one shoulder, witch on the other. The rooms he had booked for the group were identical; two double beds, a couch, a TV and a mini-bar. The floor was brown carpet, and there were numerous painting hung depicting Australian flora and fauna. The bathrooms had both bath & shower, as well as 4 dressing robes per room. He hoped that would be enough to sate them for a while.

Entering the pool area, he sat Hecate down on a recliner. She looked at him in fierce silence.

"You and me are going to have a chat, Hecate. I'll unbind you when I'm finished."

[I got hit by a beatle one time and won.]

"Heh, wow good thing you had your power then huh? That's pretty impressive," she said, slightly amazed wonder how fast it was going... It certainly wasn't as flashy of a power as hers or others, but it was still impressive in it own right. She wasn't sure who of the group had the 'best' power, Vera's was probably the most versatile, and she certainly loved her own, but they were all pretty amazing.

Prometheus drove them quickly to a nearby motel, she checked her watch then turned to Dan who was sitting in the backseat looking a bit mopey. "Hey my finals are in two hours, can you manage the trip then?" she asked, if not then I'll have to try for a makeup final the next day...

Aria seemed to have woken up as well now, asking what was going on, she decided to let Dan explain that one, he would probably want to do so anyways. She looked at the motel, well at least we get an actual bed tonight, and I can grab some clothes and such when I visit campus for finals.

"Be nice if our parents intervened but somehow I doubt they will." Remus nodded his head slightly, as his expression changed from being less anxious and more somber. "Yeah...it really would be." he said glumly, with an edge of bitterness. "But I doubt it too." Remembering Nicole chatting with Able about her mother a few minutes ago, Remus couldn't help but think about his own deitical parent. He had never seen Mars before. Never had he met his father once in his life. Remus could understand it to some extent; the God of War must have been very busy, very often. "But still..."

Before Remus could continue mucking about in his gloomy thoughts, Prometheus had arrived at the motel. He walked in to rent out some rooms while Andrew tended to the captured goddess in the back at the titan's request. Shortly after Promethes returned. "Alright; guys are in the first door to the right, girls in the second. I'll leave the keys here on the dashboard. Girls key is pink."

Nicole had apparently been further conversing with Able during their trip while Remus was lost in his own thoughts. Apparently they were discussing powers. "I never really discovered my power. When I was a child I just assumed that my strength was normal." he said to both of them. "That is, until my mother pointed out that bones generally don't snap like twigs when you press on them." He started getting out of the van and making his way towards the motel.

Dan was content to sit silently in the van, as they drove on for what felt like eons. He tuned himself out from the world around him once more, allowing him to wallow in self pity. He had endangered himself and left all his fellow adventurers alone with a mad goddess. Something in him broke halfway through the ride, reminding him of the well. All he had to do was visit, and pop out an eye like he had intended before getting kidnapped by a hump happy lightning god.

He would simply have to wait, for now. He'd go when the girl, Nicole was to do her final or whatever inconsequential bullshit she jad asked him to drop her off for. Then, he would have wisdom enough to counter Dio, his mind would be godlike, and he could combat his madness by himself, without risking the lives of 9 others. He would simply have to wait for now.

He managed sleep for about half an hour before they haf pulled up to the motel. He looked down, and smiled at the site of Aria, still asleep. Nicole had asked him the question he'd been waitimg for, before Aria stirred and gave her salvo of questions.

"Relax, we're at a motel, everyone is safe. Everyone escaped Gaia." He turned towards Nicole, "And sure, we could leave now if you would prefer?" Dan smiled, it felt good to have a minor plan. He got out of the car, and stood in the middle of the parking lot. The familiar gold came from his palms once more, the steed Sleipnir was formed, this time in armor, and wearing a saddle. He hopped ontp it's back, and offered a hamd to Nicole.

"Coming?"

"That is, until my mother pointed out that bones generally don't snap like twigs when you press on them."

That was not a terribly pleasant mental image, and it made Nicole glad Remus was more in control of his strength now than he had been as a child. Broken bones were far from pleasant and to think he needed to be told they weren't supposed to break... geez Remus must've been a scary kid.

"Coming?"

She was a bit taken aback by Dan's sudden urgency, but it certainly wouldn't hurt to get there early. I can clean up, get proper clothes, even do some last minute review. She nodded and let him help her onto the horse, "Sure, you know where the University of Michigan is right? Or you can find it at least." The horse made a world tour in ten minutes, even if we have to search it out it shouldn't take long, and I can give better directions if needed.

"Untie me, boy! And maybe I shall spare your life!"

Andrew didn't flinch, instead he smiled a friendly smile. His eyes didn't move from Hecate's, showing that there was a lack of uncertainty there. "I'm sorry, but I was told not to. So it would be better if you just remained calm."

If you can't get out on your own, then you're not currently a threat.

Arrogant? Yes, very. But even with his current injuries, he didn't feel like backing down that easily.

Prometheus came back, and told them about the keys. The titan then took Hecate over his shoulder, and was about to start walking away.

"Myself and Hecate are going to have a small chat by the pool; I suggest you get some sleep."

If I can.

Andrew went outside the van to get some air. He wouldn't have minded sleeping outside, actually, the weather was nice and it wasn't too cold, despite being the middle of the night. However, he decided to wait for someone else to pick up the keys. He thought about entering the motel ahead and see if he could get some bandages, but he still had Dan's blood on him. Probably some of Prometheus' too.

Perhaps I should just wait till Prometheus is back. I could also go talk to him...

There was the chance of interrupting a conversation. But there was also a chance for him to get to know a bit more about what was going on. However, it could upset Hecate.

Fuck it. I'll just go ask him, I really need those bandages.

He went in the direction Prometheus had gone in, until he spotted the titan. "I need some bandages, but I don't think I should go in and talk to them covered in blood. You currently have my jacket, so I was wondering if you could get them." He also tried to listen in.

"You and me are going to have a chat, Hecate. I'll unbind you when I'm finished."

What were they talking about? Did he want to wait?

I've already spoken, so it's a bit too late.

"I'm sorry if I'm disturbing you, but I don't want my injuries to get worse."

"Sleipnir will find it. He always has." Dan leaned over, patting the steed on its head. Sleipnir even seemed to wink at Nicole. Dan gave the reins a crack, and the two were off into the cool night air. The stars zoomed past as quickly as bullets, a site that always impressed Dan. A worthy last site for his left eye...

They seemed to dip at 90 degrees, a thing Dan was more than used to at this point. It wad just another annoying thing Sleipnir did. Amazingly, neither rider felt a change in their position. Sleipnir landed in the parking lot, a complete stop made both fly forward a bit. Dan simply turned around, waiting for Nicole to get off on her own.

"One foot over the other, I need to go somewhere. Have... fun? Whatever." As soon as Nicole was off, he flew away, Minnesota bound. To think that the well was so close surprised him when he first found out, but now it annoyed him he was so stupid.

'Soon.' Dan gave a swift, hard kick to Sleipnirs sides. The surprised steed moved faster.

Dear God we're sleeping on the set of a porno. Able sighed as he looked around the motel room their drunken guide had bought for them. Wherever he looked colours were clashing in ways he'd never thought possible. It was like a Dulux paint card had taken some acid and thrown up everywhere. Guess it beats sleeping on a bar floor though.

He was one of the first into their room, hurrying his way past any strange looks from the staff and other visitors and making a B-line for the bathroom. It was suprisingly clean considering the rest of the place. He left the purple tinged rags that remained of his wardrobe in a crumpled pie in the corner of the room as he hopped in the shower to try and wash the rest of Gaia's party supplies off, hoping that magical wine couldn't somehow dye his hair or skin and leave him looking like that girl from 'Charlie and the chocolate factory'.

Able carried on doing a little dance in the shower (his replacment for singing or humming) and just enjoying being ale to bathe with running hot water. [Oooh yeah, that's the stuff... and is there a horse outside?[/i] It sounded like there was a horse outside. Ah it's probably nothing.

Aria could only sign as Dan took off, that was not really the answer she was looking for, so she grabbed the other key, Able having taken the other and headed for that room. The door had barely closed when she started to shed her clothing and hit the shower to wash off the day before.

Aria's mind drifted on the events of the last day, the brutality and her own stupidity at taunting a Titan, she didn't know weather to sigh or cry as it all sank in that yesterday was probably the 'new normal' till this non-sense was over. After her shower she just dried off and climbed into bed. Aria could still feel the exhaustion from earlier heavy on her, so she just rolled over and waited to go back to sleep.

Etna quietly made her way done to the room. Anything beat sleeping a busted old van like that. She decided to have a shower in the morning and just plopped down on a nearby and drifted off to sleep. Clearly the past events had taken their toll on her. She quietly cursed. Etna had forgot to apologize to Prometheus and thank Able. She decided to do that in the morning. Procrastination at its best.

Steven just collapsed on a bed, to tired for words and in little mood to talk to others.

Sorry my posting schedule has been... erratic to say the least. :/

As Dan took off on his eight-legged steed with Nicole, Remus took off himself to his room. He followed Able into their room and cursed internally as the mute headed into the shower before he could. "Guess I'll have to wait for my turn. I does need it more urgently though, considering he's drenched in sour wine." He saw Steven immediatly toss himself onto one of the beds, clearly eager to rest. Left with nobody to socialize with at the moment, Remus simply sat in quietly and reflected on his own thoughts as he waited for the other guys to arrive.

Prometheus and Hecate were engaged in rapid-fire speech, spoken in archaic Greek language, when Andrew interrupted. Prometheus sighed and turned around. Hecate just stared.

"There should be some bandages in a medical kit in any of the rooms; don't worry about being covered in blood. Say you got hit by a car or something. Here."

Prometheus promptly took off the jacket and threw it back at Andrew. He figured he could just wear a bathrobe from one of the rooms until they bought some new clothes. Before Prometheus had a chance to wave him away, Hecate spoke.

"You are Apollo's child, no? Why not simply heal yourself?"

Prometheus looked over at her and grinned; clearly the two were old friends, who had a recent falling out. He spoke to her, loud enough so Andrew could hear, in a mocking tone.

"Because, dearest, he is exhausted from healing everybody else."

"Well I didn't know that!"

There rambling fell back into ancient Greek, and so they simply sat there by the pool and talked. Her hands were still bound, but Hecate no longer carried that malevolent look.

As some of the members fell asleep, and others were off on their own adventures, a smooth black car pulled up across from the hotel, it's passenger staring intently at the beat up van. And just like that, it was gone.

Dan flew in silence, feeling the drop in temperature as he passed into Minnesota. Sleipnir slowed down and approached the spot with more than slight apprehension. Dan got off, and looked closely at the well. The area was lightly frosted with snow, woods leading up to a beautiful frozen lake. The well, however, was untouched, dead grass with crimson around it. The well itself looked poorly contructed, a bunch of slate grey stones unevenly stacked, with ancient looking inscriptions of every block.

"Who approaches?" The loud voice made tremors in the earth, and sounded slow and sleepy. The voice of Mimir.

"Daniel, son of Odin. I wish to gain wisdom to help me combat the menace Dionysus."

"And after? Do you believe yourself worthy to follow in your fathers footsteps?" Dan sat silently. He knew his answer, and so did Mimir. The conversation seemed pointless, and Dan could sense some eagerness on Mimirs end.

Dan dug his spear out of his backpack, not bothering to put it together. He placed the spear head in front of his eye, where it stayed and wavered for several moments. He thought of the countless sights he had seen, the shooting stars, his brother, the chamber of Gaia and the great cities and forests of America. And Aria, a part of him reminded himself.

'I'm such a fool.' He stabbed at his tearduct, and began screaming in pain. Tear-like blood ran down his cheek as he prepared himself. Breathing heavily, he gave a flick of the wrist, and the milky white orb flew from his skull. He collapsed as he looked for it on the ground, and wretched as he picked it up. He slowly staggered over, and dropped it into the well.

Suddenly, Dan felt... clear. It was as if a heavy blanket of fog had lifted, revealing a large desert. Dan collapsed in the snow as he grinned stupidly.

'How was I ever so arrogant to think myself smart.

______

Dan awoke with a start. The well was gone, he noticed as he slowly picked himself up. His eye was to, and the snow he had lied on was covered in dried blood. He remembered... everything. Everything he had ever experienced came rushing to his mind. The thoughts swarmed and buzzed around like a kicked hive.

'ENOUGH! order was restored, but he noticed something alien. Some beimg in his mind was clapping, with a psychotic grin on his face. He looked so much like his brother David...

His brain replayed a scene in his head. The tainted root, the one covered in wine, tainted by madness.

It was in his blood.

He was halfway there.

Dan said nothing, but resummoned his steed. He flew to the place he had dropped Nicole off. He would keep quiet about his affliction until it became necessary. A part of his braim told him it would be.

Soon.

Nicole waved goodbye to Dan as he flew off, before jogging to her room. She was careful that no one saw her, all the blood and wine that was on her would make her look fairly suspicious. Fortunately there weren't many people out on campus, most were either in their finals or preparing for them. She reached her room and took a lengthy shower, letting the water wash away everything, sighing morosely as the blood washed off her, she wasn't sure she would feel clean even after it was gone. Still she felt refreshed and afterwards quickly packed her backpack with as many changes of clothes as would fit, as well as a water bottle and a toothbrush. She set it aside and began to review, it was hard to focus on her schoolwork after everything she had been through in the last couple days, but she managed. Soon the timer on her watch went off and she rushed off to her finals.

It didn't take her all that long to finish the exams, and she felt that she had done decently on them, nevertheless she sat in the room until time expired before handing in her tests. Relishing the last bit of normalcy she would have for a time god who knows how long it'll be until I'm back here again, never thought I'd enjoy tests so much. Still there was a part of her that was looking forward to the quest, all the sights she might see, the people she might meet, and had met. Travelling the world with a bunch of friends, and some cute guys what could be a better summer trip she thought, her mind lingering on Able and Remus before she shook the image from her mind no it'd probably be a bad time for something like that, although Aria seems to be trying...

She walked slowly back to where Dan would pick her up, drinking in the sights and sounds of campus, of normal life. Finally she reached there, Dan was waiting, sitting on his horse, bleeding from one now empty eye socket.

"What happened, were you attacked? Do you need a doctor?" she asked, looking horrified as she approached, not sure whether she should hurry her pace or start backing away. The image of some clawed beast tearing out his eye popped into her head and she shuddered, her stomach felt twisted and nauseous at the thought.

It didn't seem like he would get any information at all about what was going on, the two were speaking a very different language, old Greek, most likely. Well, at least he could get the bandages.

"There should be some bandages in a medical kit in any of the rooms; don't worry about being covered in blood. Say you got hit by a car or something. Here."

Been nice if you've said that from the beginning. You did know I'd need the bandages, after all. Besides, this doesn't really look like the kind of motel that would have a medical kit.

He grabbed the jacket as Prometheus tossed it. It wasn't like he had asked for it back. Besides, how could he just say he had been hit by a car? One would think that would just bring more questions, like, for example, how did he bleed that much, and, with no open wounds on his body, where from? It was his hands and his clothes that was filled with blood, it someone started asking questions it would be whether or not he killed the other guy.

"Yeah, okay. Thanks."

Sometimes, I swear...

"You are Apollo's child, no? Why not simply heal yourself?"

Why does everyone know that? We're not that alike.

That wasn't really true. After all, the first time he had spotted Apollo, while celebrating his internship with his mother and a few... friends, he had been surprised. At first, he had thought they we're related somehow, a cousin or something. After all, Apollo didn't exactly look like he was the father of a 24 year old then. While Apollo had tried to talk to him, Andrew had just left, ignoring his mother's requests to stay.

Still, is it really that obvious?

Prometheus explained why Andrew hadn't, Prometheus and Hecate seemed to be old friends or something, but Andrew just simply left. He entered the motel, and the sounds of showers helped him find the room he was looking for. Luckily, he found the guy's room first. First, he waited for the others who was showering to get done so he could, not being up for idle conversations as he did. He was careful in the shower, and the amount of blood on him had been greater than he had thought, so it took a while.

I guess that's what happens when you heal people of life-threatening injuries.

It was true, even though he was injured himself now, and would love to heal those injuries, there wasn't a part of him that regretted healing people before. Of course, that might just be the drug, or the strangely comforting satisfaction he got from helping people with their injuries. When he was done, he dried himself. A look in the mirror told him that he was a bit pale, both from exhaustion and from his ribs. Still, he was probably the most handsome guy there, whatever that mattered. He put on his bloodstained pants again, but at least he felt a bit more clean now. Andrew decided to drop the t-shirt, it would only get in the way when bandaging.

He then found the first-aid kit, got into a room with good lights, and applied the bandages, slowly. He'd always had a talent for bandaging, and when he was done, he felt confident enough in his skills to attempt to sleep. He fell asleep lying on top of the blanket, rather than underneath it.

Dan sat for an hour or two, losing track of time as he lost himself in forgotten memories. He was woken up by Nicole. He smiled weakly at her questions, rubbing the back of his head. He had to hold himself from laughing as he told her.

"No, no. I visited the well of Mimir... if legends are to be believed, I'm infinitely wise." But yet he felt so empty. Perhaps it would come to him as time went on. Or perhqps it was more that he had the capacity to be infinitely wise. He didn't know, but his eye was beginning to sting. He reminded himself it was his price, and that he would NOT bother Andrew with this.

"Now, shall we be off? I haven't felt this alive ever." He extended a hand over for her.

"Oh, and how were those tests?" He asked as he kicked Sleipnir into awaking, and they went off at a high speed. It seemed odd breathing was normal, but Dan had never thought to ask wh. Now it was a question he felt he needed to know.

"No, no. I visited the well of Mimir... if legends are to be believed, I'm infinitely wise."

So either blood loss or brain damage has made him delusional, or... She nodded slowly, she hadn't heard of the well before, although Dan really didn't look like he'd seen any more fighting since Gaia. She let him help her onto the horse and they flew off. At least the horse knows where its going, even if he's not well... and it is my only way back.

"Oh, and how were those tests?"

"They went fine, are you sure you're alright? You should have Andrew take a look at you when we get back," she said. His missing eye was still rather horrid to look on, I'm sure Aria will be happy to know her beau gouged out his own eye to get a disgusting hole, and supposedly become smarter. Seems like the main lesson you'd learn is that losing an eye to get a drink is not worth it.

Dan rolled his eye, and sighed.

"Must you be so cynical, when the two of us have parents that come from outdated religions nobody follows? The well is real, and although it has moved, I'm nearly certain I can find it again just to prove you wrong." Dan turned around, and smiled. If he had done it on the side he still had an eye, it might not have been as horrifying.

"Er, sorry. We'll be back... now." Sleinir banked, and the two sat on a horse, that was standing in a crater. Dan hopped off wordlessly, and went to take a long overdue shower. It felt good to finally do that, the blood and wine pooring off him. He fought the urge to burn his clothes, and sighed as he trudged his way to bed. It was now 5 in the morning, and he was intent on AT LEAST an hour.

Dan said something, presumably in reply to her question about his well being, but she couldn't hear him over the sounds of the air rushing past as they flew. It should've been rushing past them much faster considering how fast they were going, so she was thankful that it was only blocking out her hearing, rather than causing them to go splat against it. They soon landed back at the motel and she stepped off the horse. Dan trudged off to his room well at least he's sharing it with Andrew, so hopefully he'll get that examined.

She became aware of how long she'd been awake for, it hadn't struck her so easily back in Michigan, where it was still light out, but back here it hit her quite suddenly. She walked up to the girls room, changed into the pajamas she had packed, and collapsed on an empty bed.
