"We are in the Happy Camper's Outback Pub, a days hike from Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock. Which, incidentally, is our first destination."

Australia? How long had he been gone? What time was it back home? Did his mum even know he was gone. Able fiddled with his phone some more and soon enough he had a faint connection to someone's wifi. He turned on the app that helped him make easy roaming calls and typed out a message to his mother.

[Hi mum not sure how long ive been gone im in australia at the mo. Please don't worry, i think family had something to do with it. something to do with dad and his folks. Im safe and with friends theyre like me theyll look out for me. See you soon i promise. Will keep in touch. Love you xxx] His phone made using punctuation a pain. After holdin his phone up in the air for a minute trying to get it in the only spot it could get a signal and the message was away.

I don't know if you can hear me. You're supposed to be a god right and gods can hear prayers? Well consider this my prayer. You were never a real dad to me and you were worse to Mum. Maybe there's a good reason for that, I don't know but screw iy you owe me something. I can get out of this and be okay. I'll get home somehow. But Mum's going to be all alone and if I know her she's going to be worried out of her head. So you look out for her, you watch out for her and you make sure she's okay, you hear me? Otherwise I'm going to make a bunch of big bad god friends here and find out where you're hiding and... and go all ragnorok on you... got it! It's Able by the way.

He let out a quiet sigh and tryed to rub the stress out of his eyes before going back to nursing his beer. All the excitment he'd felt about the powers and magic stuff happening around him quickly faded away. Now all he could think of was the look on his mother's face when she got the message, the signal was so bad here who know's when he'd get any response from her. He should have been impressed by the big white horse in the middle of the bar but right now it just seemed annoying, some jerk just trying to show off. But he's offering to get people's things! Well it was worth a try.

He leant over the bar and reached for some notpaper and pen. He scribbled down a note for his mum, complete with address. He typed a fresh memo into his phone in case Mr. Odinson Said his name was dnaiel right? couldn't read his writing. He offered him the note and brandished his phone screen. [For my mum to let her know im ok. Could you get my hiking boots too?] It sounded like he'd need them.

"Because the world is no longer split into Greek and Persians, Veronica. If Dionysus gains whatever he is seeking, it's all our heads on the chopping block. Don't think Ahuramazda isn't frightened; Zeus is but an emissary of a pseudo-council. Think of it as a supernatural united Nations. Besides..." Prometheus said, giving an explanation.

Vera didn't like his condescending tone, but she could see some logic to it. That a coalition of deities wasn't powerful enough to find and kill a single rogue god but somehow expected a smaller group of less powerful beings to somehow stand a chance was... well, an interesting discovery to say the least. She was going to voice these concerns, but Prometheus decided to continue.

"Whoever brings him back is heralded a hero. A victor. A champion. I'm sure both you and Nicole can find reason in that alone." he said in a low whisper; winking. Vera's eyes narrowed, her anger returning in full force. One more reason she hated gods; they all seemed to be smug, arrogant bastards. "You can't just hold some prize out in front of me and believe I'm gonna dance to your tune." she said, before turning her head up to talk with the gods. "None of you have earned that damned right."; a mostly true statement. Vera doubted there were listening - they certainly never seemed to be. If they had been, she'd have been struck down long ago.

More or less done speaking with the all-too typically, smug divine being, Vera made her way over to the bar. If she had to put up with this nonsense, she was going to at least find enough alcohol to make it bearable. "God I hate gods." she muttered to herself as she reached for the whiskey on the wall beside the son of Apollo - who appeared to be busy meditating.

As she poured herself a glass of the otherwise unneeded beverage, the others began showing off. Apparently the Texan had some serious magical know how and one of the others could summon a rather unique horse. Norse? she wondered, not entirely sure. When he offered to gather some of there things, Vera sighed. "At least demigods seem reasonable" she muttered into her drink.

As time went on, Prometheus finally gave them some useful information; they were in Australia; not far from Ayers Rock. Here's hoping we survive this madness she thought before throwing back the drink and pouring another glass.

It didn't occur to me how much Vera hates gods until this post... this could be fun.

"He's cute; good luck."

Nicole laughed at this whispered remark, and blushed slightly yeah he is I guess, not really sure this is the time or place for that though, heh.

Vera walked off to the bar and began her tirade, prompting a laugh from Nicole "Hey, I'm right here y'know!" she said in a tone of feigned offense, though she was clearly joking. The Texan girl at the bar I should really get her name... showed off some magical stuff, the teleporting looked fancy be cheating to use that in a race though. Shortly after that Dan summoned an eight legged horse whoa, that's sleipnir right? Now THAT would definitely be cheating in a race. Dan asked if anyone wanted anything, she considered it but she really doubted that there wouldn't be a change of clothes and such made available and she didn't feel that comfortable showing strangers where she lived so she shook her head in reply.

"So...you appear to be an athletic person, Miss Nicole. Do you partake in sports often?"

"Hell yeah, running mostly also a little swimming and whatever other sports I find time for, honestly its hard to keep track of how many athletic clubs I'm in. I'm planning on trying out for the Olympics when that rolls around!" she said getting a bit excited as she mentioned the Olympics, "What about you, got any interesting hobbies?"

It was then that she overheard Prometheus state where they were and what the plan, or at least part of the plan, for tomorrow was.

"We are in the Happy Camper's Outback Pub, a days hike from Uluru, also known as Ayers Rock. Which, incidentally, is our first destination."

"Wait, that's Australia right? Sweet always wanted to go there, or here I guess," she thought aloud, hope I don't need my passport or anything. "Hiking sounds fun, I'd rather run but I doubt everyone here would want to do that."

He had gotten a few minutes to rest. Not the longest amount of time, but any longer, and he'd fall asleep. Besides, someone had gotten close, close enough for it to bother him, so he opened his eyes.

"God I hate gods."

Now, that's an amusing statement.

It was a woman's voice, she had been yelling something before, right? Andrew could hear that she was pouring herself a glass of something. Drinking, she muttered again:

"At least demigods seem reasonable"

"Apart from some, I suppose they do." He had spoken out aloud by mistake. Andrew lifted his head, trying to correct what he had said. "I mean, I'm not much of a reasonable person at all. Always been told I'm too stubborn, and I'm not much of a use in a situation like this." He acted flustered in order to make it seem as if he felt he had said something rude before. "I'm Andrew, nice to meet you. I heard someone say your name before... Vera, right? I'm guessing this isn't your kind of thing either, then? I mean, this whole thing is new to me, even though a lot of the people here seem to be younger than me... I'm sorry, never mind. You feeling well? The trip wasn't very comfortable."

No way she's going to think ill of me now. Might think I'm a bit too friendly, but that's better than having her think I'm a jerk.

"Apart from some, I suppose they do." the demigod not far from her said before quickly adding on several excuses and trying to change the subjet. Vera stared at the greek demigod for a moment, annoyed. Maybe it was true she wasn't being reasonable, but given that they'd literally been kidnapped - by gods she didn't have a high opinion of - minutes ago, she didn't feel like playing their game. Still, she said nothing; it wasn't worth the fight.

"Yes I'm Vera. No, it's not 'my thing'. And yes; I'm feeling just chipper." she replied shortly, not really wanting to give the demigod the time of day after the (admittedly true) comment. A moment after she said it however, she realized she wasn't really being fair to him; she was really just mad at the abducting gods. What more, there wasn't really any sense in muddying the water. With a deep sigh, she placed the glass back on the table and continued.

"Sorry; still angry at that jerk. I don't mean to take it out on you." she added as way of an apology, indicating Prometheus at the word 'jerk'. "How about you; you feeling well? Ready for... whatever this is?" she added, trying to keep the conversation flowing.

Etna nodded and knocked back the drink, and coughed as it burnt her throat. However, it faded into a warm buzz. Along with the warmth of the alcohol, there was a smooth flavour. It was alright. Contray to the typical stereotype of the Irish, Etna didn't really drink. Especially when she found out how much a hangover could hurt. But this... was nice. The warm buzz countered the throbbing of her head. But still, all of the noise the other demigods were intent on producing annoyed her. They seemed to be intent on showing off their powers. Which would achieve nothing. If they were going to catch Dionysus, then they should just get with that. Her stomach rumbled. She went to the kitchen with a huff. Prometheus could have given Etna something to eat before filling her with alcohol. Speaking of alcohol, Mr. Bartender wanted a flask filled with Irish whiskey. Etna stumbled up to where him and Mr. Horse were and gave her request after writing down an address, "Can you fetch a black messenger bag from there?"

"Sorry; still angry at that jerk. I don't mean to take it out on you. How about you; you feeling well? Ready for... whatever this is?"

"Better for you to get it out."

Even though I feared you were about to snap for a moment there, and just strangle me.

"Also, I'm fine, a bit tired, but fine. I've had a phone ringing for a few days, and it has kept me awake most of the time."

I think it's a better idea to be honest with this one.

He drank a bit more of his cider, before continuing. "And I'm not really ready, it's not like we got a lot of details. Besides, tracking down a god... I don't know if a surgeon in training would be much use. How about you?" His voice got a hint of pride when he mention his internship again. Of course, he had the right to be proud, he had worked hard enough and was talented enough to deserve that.

"You have any special abilities that would be useful?"

Or anything I should be careful with?

Remus noticed that Nicole had gotten a bit rosy around the cheeks. Had he said something to make her blush? His knowledge of English wasn't the greatest, so he easily could have phrased something suggestively without realizing it.

"Hell yeah, running mostly also a little swimming and whatever other sports I find time for, honestly its hard to keep track of how many athletic clubs I'm in. I'm planning on trying out for the Olympics when that rolls around!" He raised a brow as his eyes widened a bit, surprised by that last sentence. "Really? You must be quite the athlete indeed then! Count me impressed, and hopeful that you do get admitted."

"What about you, got any interesting hobbies?" Remus nodded his head. "Yes. Particularly interested in agriculture, gardening especially. I'm also an enthusiast for firearms and hunting." It was funny. Remus had never noticed until now that most of his interests were related to how he needed to live his life. "I too, am quite the athletic person. Yet though I do exercise a lot, I rarely find the time to practice most of my gymnastics professionally. Well...aside from lifting and throwing." Remus pause for a moment and rubbed his hands. "I work part-time as a...what do you call it in English? Bouncer?" He snapped his fingers. "Yes, that's it! At a fancy club in Naples. Very nice place. That's why I'm dressed as you see me. My boss likes all his employees to look sharp."

He shook his head. "But yes, I too enjoy sports. Swimming especially. Near my home there's a rocky coast, with a high cliff which you can dive into the water from. I used to go there sometimes to swim, even though it made my mother mad. She was worried about the sharks that also swam there. Although...they never gave me much trouble."

Steven looked at the flashy displays of powers that everyone else was doing as trying show off who won the power lottery the most.

"Can you idiots please stop?" Steven said with irritation, sitting next to a girl who was not following the childish behavior, "Having the most visible powers doesn't make you the best. We all know we're demigods, what point are you guys trying to make?"

Steven poured another glass, hoping to drown the headache he still had.

"When are we leaving?" Steven said, looking towards Prometheus, "The sooner the better."

"Nah, Nothin I'll be needen from back home" Aria said to the now horse back mounted Son of Odin "Nice pony" she added as she grabbed her coat and headed for the back room, she was hungry and she was gonna get something to eat.

in the back she'd found a coat rack, so she hung her coat up, and hung hat hat above that, then begun to dig around the fridge for something she didn't need to thaw first. 'Weird day, still donno why I here, even if that bull about being half god is true, you'd think they'd want one that knew about this hogwash before hand.' she though as she moved from the fridge tot he freezer. 'and why the hell does every one else seem to care if I believe this bull or not? What does it change? I'd still have parents that didn't want me so I don't see what the big deal is.'

Vera left Prometheus chuckling, clearly angered by his suggestive answers. He was glad to see she had some fire in her. That and an already standing relationship with her Greek counter-part gave him hope for the group. While Aria fetched herself some food, he overheard Steven chastising the others.

"Outward displays of inner insecurity" Prometheus took out some painkillers and slid them over to his half-nephew. "A few of these guys have never met anyone else with abilities like these; let alone be praised for them. Look at the world they live in. There is no place for the Old Ones anymore."

He paused for a moment, studying the youth. Hephaestus had long been a good friend of his, and it can't be denied that the youth looked like him. Prometheus wondered how much of his power he had inherited.

"As to when we're leaving, it's bright and early tomorrow morning. So I suggest you grab a snack and bunker down; you'll need your energy."

Prometheus rapped on the table twice before leaving, as customary in his former home. Having been stuck waiting in this bar for a few days, he had amassed what he could find at the foot of the cellar door. A few blankets and spare bar cushions would have to make do for tonight; tomorrow, who knows? Grabbing the bundle, he slipped back into the bar and laid them out on the table, in a "help-yourself" manner.

Having slept through the 16, 17 and 1800s, Prometheus rarely got tired, and so slipped neatly back into the supply room, from there opening the back door outside. He lit up a cigarette, and in the blanket darkness, heard while screams and screeches, that were all too familiar.

Steven did not like it, but he had a point. As Steven downed the pills, he wondered it was real annoyance or jealousy that made him want the others to stop. While everyone else got flashy abilities, plus unearthly beauty, he got mechanic work, immunity to being burned, and a face only his mother could love.

Steven looked down to the shotgun and the bottle of painkillers.

The old ones were not needed anymore, humanity could go on just fine.

How long till normal people can out power the gods?

Have they already surpassed the gods?

Steven got up, said a goodnight to everyone and collapsed on a bed.

"Really? You must be quite the athlete indeed then! Count me impressed, and hopeful that you do get admitted."

"Thanks," she replied proudly. Remus then began to list off his hobbies and even mentioned his job, sharks? I wonder what kind they have out there, not sure if I should be impressed or if they're little cookie cutter sharks or something...

"Huh, I bet that's a bit different than doing laps in a pool, we'll have to race sometime see whose faster," she said, "And a bouncer you said? You certainly look the part I suppose." She could almost picture him standing outside a bar dressed like that, he was certainly tall enough to be imposing.

Agriculture wasn't terribly interesting to her there were plenty of farmers back in Iowa after all, as for hunting she'd done shooting on a range but had never been hunting before, she supposed such skills might come in handy with the job that had been dumped on them. As for gymnastics she'd always been too tall to be a gymnast, and he was even taller, so that seemed unlikely at best.

She shrugged, "Well I think I'm going to go see what they have to eat, seems like things are starting to wrap up around here," she said, and started to walk off towards the kitchen. I wonder where they'll have us sleeping tonight, will we have to share rooms?

Dan nodded, and took the lists as they came. He was surprised some people didn't want their things, it wasn't like they couldn't trust him. He sighed, as he trotted the highly obedient horse out the door, both had to duck slightly. The night air wasn't exactly fresh and great, but it was better than in the bar.

"Ready, boy?" He stroked Sleipnirs mane, and he stomped the ground and neighed. And with that, he spurred his horse, and they kicked off at a terrifying speed, causing the bar to rattle slightly as he took air. Dan held on tightly, looking around. Everything passed by quickly, but he got to his home within 5 minutes or so. He jogged inside, leaving the octo horse out in the parking lot. His apartment was a bit of a wreck, but lightning hit it. A quick scan and he found his backpack, and slung it over his shoulders. A quick jog back outside, and nobody had seen Sleipnir yet. Granted, he threw a car into a room so that might just be shock.

"Next house won't be ours, no destruction." The horse glared at Dan, and he shrugged in response. He quickly got on it's back, and contemplated going to the well. He decided against it, heading to his next location. It looked like a lightning bolt struck it, too, and once again he was fast enough for no one to notice the octo horse. He did this a few more times, gathering up all the supplies, before heading back.

As he flew over the ocean, he debated sticking his arm into the water. He decided against it in the end, after all Norse couldn't afford an Icarus. He supposed the journey had taken him a 10 or so minutes at the most, but he could very easily be wrong about that. He spotted what looked like the bar he vaguely recognized from a peek over his shoulder before liftoff, and touched down. When he got off the horse, it had disappeared again.

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! I have bags of stuff for people who asked! And my glorious spear...."

"Huh, I bet that's a bit different than doing laps in a pool, we'll have to race sometime see whose faster," Remus chuckled a bit in response. "Very much so. Far more scrapping and bruises involved with cliff diving. And I'd certainly love to race against you in a swimming competition." Remus didn't often get to indulge in his sportly interests as much as he'd like to, and Nicole seemed like the type of person who could give him a run for his money. An athletic contest between the two definitely seemed like a fun idea. And the thought of seeing her in a swimsuit made it all the more irresistible.

He nodded his head at Nicole. "Very well. It was a pleasure to meet you, miss." As she left for the kitchen, Remus turned his head about and spotted another demigod. It seemed the son of Odin had returned on his bizarre steed. "Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! I have bags of stuff for people who asked!" Remus cursed in thought as he realized he probably should have asked to have something retrieved. Maybe some of his uncle's shotguns, or his flatcap.

But was done was done. Shaking the negative thoughts away, Remus walked over and approached Dan with a friendly smile. "Hello there. Have we been acquainted yet?" he said, accent ringing. "I am Remus. A pleasure." He extended his hand out in an almost ironlike grip for a shake.

"Good evening, ladies and gentlemen! I have bags of stuff for people who asked! And my glorious spear...."

Gigidy.

With that taken care of Able could relax, well a little bit anyway. Now he just had to worry about himself. He dislodged himself from the bar and went over to collect his boots from Dan the horseman. They should come in handy at least if they were going on a trek tomorrow.

[Thanks.] He signed in one swift motion to Dan. Even if he couldn't understand sign the meaning was pretty obvious.

A James Bond looking fellow had already brought himself onto the scene and was making introductions."Hello there. Have we been acquainted yet?" he said, accent ringing. "I am Remus. A pleasure."

Was he Italian? Able had never met an Italian person before. Well this day is just FULL of new experiences.

He typed up a note on his phone. [Able] it read in chunky black font as he held it up for both to see, pointing at himself. He waved hello as well, mouthing the word clearly as he did so. He'd have to get back into the habit of doing that probably.

"...I don't know if a surgeon in training would be much use. How about you?" Andrew said with some pride. Vera could only raise an eyebrow. "Considering were about to take on a god, I think anyone with any amount of medical knowledge is going to come in handy; so don't sell yourself short." she said, trying to relieve him o any doubts he might have had.

Vera had to admit the demigod was growing on her; he might not have made the best first impression, but at least he wasn't being as smug as the gods in the room. "As for me, unless talking about opportunity costs until he gives up works, about all I can do is athletics." she answered, not really wanting to go into detail about her sports life - she hated feeling like a braggart.

"You have any special abilities that would be useful?" he asked a few seconds later. Ah, the fun question. she thought sarcastically, not really wanting to go into her powers to much. "I'm a... shapeshifter for lack of better terms. I can take a few forms; a horse, wind, a Persian warrior... Not sure how helpful they'll be but I suppose I'll find out." she explained. Vera waited a few seconds, answering any questions he had, then posed a question of her own. "so what about you; any powers to speak of?" she asked, genuinely curious.

"I am Remus. A pleasure."

"Daniel, son of Odin." He said, smiling and returning the iron like grip with equal force. The man seemed pleasant, accent might get grating down the road though...

The quiet man from the bar came and picked up his boots, and gave a quick wave of the hand. Then he held up his phone to say his name.

"Nice to meet you too. Shall we get some food?" Dan smiled, leaving the individual packages in a row, for the people who asked for them, before heading off towards the kitchen.

"I'm back, if you asked for anything it's near the door." Dan made his way towards the fridge, intent on a sandwich or something of the like.

"I'm a... shapeshifter for lack of better terms. I can take a few forms; a horse, wind, a Persian warrior... Not sure how helpful they'll be but I suppose I'll find out."

"I can think of a lot of uses for those easily. Those are awesome powers."

I must admit, I'm impressed. I didn't expect for it to be something as useful as shapeshifting.

Andrew decided to keep an eye with this one, might turn out to be very interesting. She then asked him the same, which wasn't very surprising.

"so what about you; any powers to speak of?

"Not that I know about. Well, I've always had a talent with the bow, so that's something, but nothing like what you can do. I don't doubt there's something there, though."

Of course there has to be.

He finished his cider, and looked towards the items they had been provided in order to sleep, albeit he didn't leave yet. He had one more question. "How do you use your powers? I mean, perhaps knowing would help me... find out how I use the ones I might have."

"I can think of a lot of uses for those easily. Those are awesome powers." Andrew said, offering a compliment. Vera shrugged her shoulders, trying to play it cool. She hadn't really expected that kind of answer; in her experience they had always been an annoyance at best. It was odd to be complimented for the strange powers.

He went on to add that he didn't know his powers - aside from some skill with a bow. "I'm sure the bow work will come in handy; we are up against a god after all.". His next comment however threw her for a loop. "How do you use your powers? I mean, perhaps knowing would help me... find out how I use the ones I might have."

Vera scratched her head for a moment, not really sure how to answer. "Um... well in my case, I just sort of... will it I guess. The first time I transformed, I was upset and angry and needed help. I asked for help and they came. They weren't at all what I needed - the disadvantage of being the child of a minor god I suppose - but they came. My da... Venethragna, the god who's powers I have, told me that I needed to both want the powers and be powerful enough to use them. Mine didn't awaken until I was 15 because of how they work - I wasn't powerful enough I guess - but thereafter, I could transform whenever I wanted it enough. I'm not sure how to explain it better, but i hope it helps."
