It didn't take long for Andrew to realize that he wasn't getting a reply. A reply in words, anyways, he supposed one could call being bitten by these creatures some sort of reply. Seeing as two of them were headed for him, Andrew fired his bow. Yes, they were circling, moving around each other, but that made it easier to see a spot where at least one of them were when moving around, a pattern in their movement. One that increased in speed, like the heartbeats of someone awake during surgery.
I should be able to hit one of them.
Or so Andrew hoped. In the end, he couldn't be sure of it, and fired not one, but three arrows quickly, not even looking to make sure he had hit something, just firing, getting another arrow, arming the bow, and drawing and firing the new arrow, all within few seconds of each other.
Then, he took some time to assess the situation, stepping back a little, but not too far. If he had failed, they would be coming for him directly, and there were more around them, he noted.
A little help would be nice.
