It didn't take long for Andrew to realize that he wasn't getting a reply. A reply in words, anyways, he supposed one could call being bitten by these creatures some sort of reply. Seeing as two of them were headed for him, Andrew fired his bow. Yes, they were circling, moving around each other, but that made it easier to see a spot where at least one of them were when moving around, a pattern in their movement. One that increased in speed, like the heartbeats of someone awake during surgery.

I should be able to hit one of them.

Or so Andrew hoped. In the end, he couldn't be sure of it, and fired not one, but three arrows quickly, not even looking to make sure he had hit something, just firing, getting another arrow, arming the bow, and drawing and firing the new arrow, all within few seconds of each other.

Then, he took some time to assess the situation, stepping back a little, but not too far. If he had failed, they would be coming for him directly, and there were more around them, he noted.

A little help would be nice.

Unsurprisingly the pursuers attacked, though Rias was faced with two area's in need of attention, the Titan and the 'healer'. The Titan was closer and not moving around as much, while the Healer was further away and trying to not take a claw to the face. After quick weighing of the options she in one very fluid motion spun around, pulled two throw knives form they're sheaths and threw at the creature chasing the healer, leading her throws a bit due to distance and speed of the target. One knife aimed at the creatures neck, the other the kidney on that side.

The moment the knives where away she start toward her target, even if the knives hit where she intended she doubted they would be enough to bring it down and the rest of the group could ill afford to have the healer down or dead.

Thankfully Prometheus stood by the wounded man, trying to convince Keshi to at least wait until they had his information before exacting her revenge. Unfortunately before any more could be said creatures, looking like men save for their claws and teeth, leaped out to attack them, running to attack Prometheus and Andrew. What are they? Vampires maybe? It's hard to keep track of them.

Working quickly she threw her blessing over the group, noticing Rias throwing her knives at the one going for Andrew she focused her powers on them guiding them to their target to ensure they struck deep. She knew Andrew was a good enough shot to trust in his ability to strike without her guiding hand. That was no guarantee of dropping it, but the plan Hymir had proposed meant she should stay back.

Damn it, I need to get a ranged weapon. No matter, I can move closer to Andrew to cover him, Keshi and Hymir should be able to cover Prommy well enough. Sword drawn she moved to Andrew's side, ready to step forward and try to fend off the beasts if they got too close.

As the figures approached, Shiro tightened his grip on his sword. Whatever they were, these things obviously weren't there to greet them.

One of the creatures pounced, and Shiro reacted quickly. "Kaze no Ken!" He shouted, and a rippling balde of wind sliced through air and into his attacker's skin. It staggered back, hissing angrily.

"Don't like that, huh?" Shiro asked, emboldened by this response. "Well how about this?"

He held up his sword, which started to crackle with electricity, then charged straight at the creatures with a cry of, "Kaminari no Ken!"

Seeing that Hymir was engaging the attacker going for their informant, her head snapped about, taking a quick survey of her surroundings. ?Shit?? She muttered as she say the Prometheus was down and grappling with one of ?them?. With the Norseman appearing to have things in hand, she broke from her defensive posture, and lunged towards the Titan, aiming her top two swords for a vicious chop into the creature?s back, while her bottom two went for lateral slashes across its side.

Keshi confronted the beast with the power of a daughter of Kali. Disheartened by the shimmering wall of steel, the creature quickly shrunk back into the shadows and resumed the fast-paced circling of the group.

Prometheus was moments away from bringing flame to the battle, before his attacker gave a squeal, and then fell limp against the branch-come-barrier. The creatures heightened awareness had been blinded by what appeared an easy kill, and had failed to ward itself against Keshi's blades. Retrieving her swords, Keshi heard the crunching of broken bones - she had struck hard.

The Horn of Heimdallr hit home. The creature had raised it's arms to seize Hymir's sword-arm, leaving it's chest vulnerable. Yet there wasn't enough power to pierce through to the heart, and, stumbling back, the creature wrenched the horn from Hymir's grasp. With the horn embedded in an injured assailant, the group lost their telepathic link-up. The injured creature continued to try and wrench the horn free, as two others stepped in from the shadows in a pincer-move, eager to take out the Northman.

Andrew's first arrow was dodged in a deft parting of two bodies. His second arrow forced the leading creature to a stop - the third put it out for good, piercing it's neck. In one swift movement, the other leaped over it's fallen comrade to within claws-reach of the archer. Two distinct grunts, and Andrew could now see a pair of throwing knives, sunk to the hilt into his assailants side. Though causing tremendous pain, the creature was only injured; now facing both Andrew and Nicole, it shrieked; rotten breath filling the air. Lashing out towards Andrew's bow, it quickly moved closer to the pair.

The crackling blade of Shiro made the shadows step back, clearly wary of his power. Though unfazed by the four-armed blue form of Kali, they feared terribly what appeared to be weather magic. Their indecision cost them one of their number, as Shiro cut one down where he stood. The magic seemed to tear through it without resistance - observed by the group.

Prometheus quickly jumped to his feet, careful to retract his fire. Wielding the branch, he stood by the still cowering figure. Approached by another creature, the Titan was far more ready; splitting his weapon across it's head, Prometheus was now weaponless. Bleeding from it's temple, the creature fell unconscious at his feet.

As the creature squealed and collapsed, Keshi howled in triumph. Working in conflict zones as she did, she?d been in serious fights before, but in those occasions her opponents had been utterly outclassed?but here, where there was real danger; her whole body tingled with adrenalin, she?d never felt so alive.

Hacking at the downed creature a few more times, she howled again before wheeling towards the next closest attacker. ?COME ON PISS FUCKER,? She taunted. ?I?M GOING TO USE YOUR HEAD AS A SOCCERBALL!? Inside her mind things were no less chaotic; the surge of adrenalin from a real fight was overwhelming her more rational sides, the baser elements of her nature were getting stronger.

Keshi leaped to Prometheus's defense, or more likely just to attack whoever was closest, and cut down one of the monsters, swearing all the while. It's almost like Jon is still here. Andrew dropped yet another one of them with arrows, but unfortunately even with her guidance Rias's knives were unable to drop the last one. Figures, I'm not sure those things are even properly weighted to be thrown. There wasn't time to worry about why the attack had failed though, the beast was right in front of her and Andrew now.

Gritting her teeth she stepped forward blade at the ready. It was injured already, which ought to make it easier to defeat, though it could also just make it more vicious.

"Stay behind me," she said to Andrew, though she kept her distance from the creature, waiting for it to attack or for another one of their group to intervene. She knew she was competent in melee combat, but not to the same extent as the others, and if she could distract the beast while someone else took it by surprise that would be excellent.

"Stay behind me,"

"Okay, got it."

Andrew nodded, though he knew that meant that he couldn't do anything but stay protected. However, he had picked up on something, from the corner of his eyes. While the arrows, the horn Hymir was carrying and so on had seemed to be less effective on these creatures, Shiro's sword had sliced one up as if it was butter. While he didn't doubt the thing was sharp, he somehow doubted it could cut through bones that effortlessly.

They seem to be weak to Shiro's... electricity. Magic.

He didn't like calling it lightning, but he knew very well what it was. Standing behind Nicole, protected, gave him the chance see things like that, but from the looks of it, they were less eager to approach Shiro than anyone else.

Afraid, then? Does that mean... I'm hesitant to say it aloud, but if he used his powers, we might be able to get out of this without too much of a fuss, and we need to get moving.

Andrew looked towards them, there were still plenty to go, Hymir was out of a horn, and Prometheus didn't seem to have any weapons. They were getting too close for Andrew to deal with them, and while he didn't doubt Keshi could fend for herself, he had no idea if Rias could do anything but throw knives and heal quickly.

Fuck this.

Andrew thought to himself, then he sighed, deciding to speak up.

"Shiro, lightning, now!" he yelled, not wanting to waste time by saying unnecessary words. Hopefully the guy would understand the use of it on his own, but if he didn't, Andrew saying it that loudly should make it clear that it was important. Hopefully. He braced himself for anything that could come, be it the lightning... or the guy Nicole was currently trying to murder to protect him.

Shiro watched with some satisfaction as the creature crumpled to the ground and the others backed off, clearly afraid of his power.

"Alright then," he said to himself, "Now we're getting somewhere."

"Shiro, lightning, now!" Andrew shouted, and Shiro knew what he was getting at.

holding out his sword, he concentrated his power into it. A small storm cloud appeared out of thin air and began firing lighting bolts at the creatures, making them back off even more.

Hopefully that will be enough to keep them off our backs...

As the one with his horn pushed back, two more came at him from different directions. Reacting on well-honed instincts, Hymir pushed his sword out in a jab at the further of the two new enemies while pivoting and grabbing the nearer of them by his outstretched arm. From there, using the force of the pivot, he violently pulled the closer enemy toward his original prey and withdrew his sword from the other.

However, the pivot did not stop there. Continuing, he brought the sword around the full 270 degree arc into the now-off-balance enemy with everything he had. He pushed forward with the sword into the target hoping to knock him over and on top of the one with his horn. From there, he hoped to grab the horn, continue his spin-turned-roll, and bring a death blow to that final enemy (assuming the sword attack hadn't been a death blow)

'***** is trying to get away with my knives...' Rias though as the creature with her knives still buried in its side started backing away from them a bit because of Shiro.

Rias darted at the creature with her knives, ducking effortlessly under a claw swipe and countering with one of her own across the gut with the claw on her left hand, effectively gutting the creature, before bringing the right claw around in a hard upper cut, that connected where the jaw and throat connect and buried her claws in its head. "Hey, if your gonna run away like a little *****, don't steal someone else's stuff." she said as she jerked her hand back hard enough to rip open the creatures skull and face. "Seriously, no tact at all ..."

Rias tore her way through the upper-half of the assailant, loosing a near torrent of blood onto herself. Thoroughly dead, the gored corpse crumpled to the ground. The soft thump was followed by several more, as Hymir cleaved his way deftly through the creatures; showing a grace and style unbecoming of his surly build. The corpses fell about him, and his horn glistened with blood upon the ground.

Keshi's fierce onslaught had a far more profound effect on Prometheus than the attackers - somewhat unfamiliar with the more dangerous figures of India, such untamed, not to mention visually bewildering, power drained the colour from his face.

Yet her challenge remained unmet - for neither Hymir's sword nor Rias' decapitation seemed to faze them. Only the storm from Shiro seemed to scatter them; retreating back into the jungle to hide from the lightning. An errant bolt struck close to a small group, and they fled. Like a flood-gate, the rest followed suit, flitting to parts unknown, leaving the group in the shade.

Noticing the flashes of lightning, a few audible grunts escaped the injured figure at Prometheus' feet. Barely intelligible, they were directed at Shiro.

"That magic...it's in the jungle...your father?...Not from here..."
Nicole and Andrew's opponent watched his comrades run, and seemed to spit. Tensing his muscles, he unleashed a last wild bound, surging with all his force towards Nicole...

As the attackers began to fade back into the woods Keshi screamed in frustration; she wanted to kill, to destroy, to wreak destruction on those that had threatened her, but now she was denied. ?COWARDS!? She hollered. ? Maachaud mai teri bund marna!? Ignoring the dying thing at Prometheus? feet, she stalked towards the man that had attacked her prior to her meeting Rias and her ?friends?; there was movement off to her side, but she ignored it, she had a target for her wrath. Grinning from ear to ear, her Gene Simmons-esque tongue hanging from her mouth, and with chaos and bloodlust glittering in her ruby eyes, she jammed one sword into the dirt, and using her freed hand hauled the man up by his throat.

?Speak NOW!? She growled, squeezing hard enough that he couldn?t escape, but not so much that she cut off his breathing. ?If you?re useful, I promise you will die cleanly??

Most of the monsters fled under their assault, only the one before her remained. It seemed to spit, disgusted by its comrade's cowardice, and charged at her. Nicole met the charge, bracing herself and plunging the sword forward at the monster aiming at its heart. It was an obvious move, but hopefully the thing had too much momentum to turn aside.

Memories of her first fight with the satyr, plunging a knife into it, came back to her but were swept aside by the excitement of battle. The monster might strike at her in this charge, injure her, but there was no way it could survive her sword plunging through its heart. She found herself grinning wildly, pulse pounding, it was a feeling she remembered well from the last adventure. The thrill of battle, a feeling that would fade afterwards leaving herself uncomfortable with how easily she spilled blood, but for now it was a welcome aid.

The creature couldn't stop itself in times, while its flailing attacks drew scratches on Nicole it was nothing compared to the blood gushing from where she had impaled it. After a few moments the monster fell to the ground, dead.

"I'm glad that helped, thanks Shiro," Andrew said, almost instantly, making it clear that he appreciated the others gesture. It was also partly to make it clear that he was fine. Scared, but fine.

He both disliked and liked the fact that Shiro had used the lightning magic. He felt himself shaking, but he was also smiling, the satisfaction from watching those nasty, human-like creatures run away filled him with some of the confidence his phobia took away.

In front of him, Nicole killed another of the creatures, and when he was sure the thing was dead, he leaned forward on her, his head resting carefully on her shoulder. It wasn't a hug, but it was something similar, and about as comforting to him. He looked at the almost human creature on the ground.

I wonder if she's more comfortable with killing like that now.

He could vaguely remember that Nicole had gotten a bit upset back in the beginning, both due to killing something, and because of how she had felt about it. Had she gotten over that? From the corner of his eyes, he noted that Keshi was currently interrogating the man they had just saved. While she was just about gone insane, there would at least be the chance to rest -or rather, gather himself- for a brief moment.

That's something, at least.

"Thanks," he muttered to Nicole, he was still smiling, but she could hear that there was a sense of timidness in his voice due to the lightning, as well as his inability to act. He lifted his head, and looked into her eyes. "I'm sorry I'm no good with close range. Do you need any healing? Does anyone else need any healing?"

Andrew raised his voice for the last bit, to make sure everyone heard him.

There was no struggle as Keshi - or whatever fragment of her inheritance was now in control - hauled the injured man up. His breathing was quite ragged, and he began to speak.

"I was hired...Loki...wants the traitors killed...and their children. This is my home...he was going to burn it down. I'm the last left. What would you...have done?"

At Andrew's mention of healing, the man gurgled in his throat. Spitting blood, he looked over Keshi's soldier at Andrew.

"Please. Help."

----------

Prometheus watched as Keshi interrogated the figure. Content to sit back, as long as she didn't kill him, the Titan followed Andrew's lead, making sure everyone was alright. Coming up to Shiro, he laid a hand on his shoulder.

"Good work. At least we have some advantage. Do you know why they were so afraid of you?"

Looking over to Hymir, he gave him a nod. His ferocity reminded Prometheus of their first meeting, bloody, in the snow.

"What traitors are you talking about? Those who sided with Zeus willing? or the ones Zeus beat into joining him?" Rias asked after collecting her knives and walking over to the injured being. "and for Ra's sake Keshi put him down, it's not like he can defend him self if he needed to right now." she added while she waited for her answer.

The implications of Loki going on a killing spree against those Zeus beat into submission where not good, and if that was the case she'd have to retract any objection to killing Loki entirely. Rias might not like Zeus but killing those who are only on his side out of fear of reprisal flips all the wrong switches for her.

?I would have died with some fucking pride, not bend over and let some horse-fucker corn-hole me!? She spat. As he begged for help, she raised an arm in a blocking gesture. ?No?you?ve still yet to prove that you?re worth a squirt of piss.? While the hand on his throat remained steady, Keshi?s other three flexed continuously against the sword grips; a sure sign of her still highly charged emotional state.

"What traitors are you talking about? Those who sided with Zeus willing? Or the ones Zeus beat into joining him?"

?She asked you a question shit bag.? She said, shaking the man. ?Speak!?

"That magic...it's in the jungle...your father?...Not from here..."

Shiro started in surprise. Could the man tell who his father was? After all, there were other storm gods out there, right?

"I'm glad that helped, thanks Shiro," Andrew said, trying to sound like he was unaffected by the lighting, but Shiro was relieved to see that he was otherwise fine.

His thoughts were diverted when the injured man rasped out, "I was hired...Loki...wants the traitors killed...and their children. This is my home...he was going to burn it down. I'm the last left. What would you...have done?"

The words made Shiro's blood run cold. If Loki was willing to go that far to get to them... then what chance did they have against him?

A strong hand on his shoulder made him look up into Prometheus' face. "Good work. At least we have some advantage. Do you know why they were so afraid of you?"

"Not really," he admitted, "All I know is that the creatures didn't care for lightning attacks..."
