No wonder they can't seem to find anyone to buy their console. No one knows what the hell they are selling anymore.

Honestly, who the fuck thought this would be a good idea? I'm starting to think they're pulling this shit on purpose to get people talking.

sony needs to completly fire their marketing department, there is no way anyone should have let this make it to the drawing board.

on that note, rommel was not a nazi, and even helped in one of the plots to kill hittler.
a good man, a good general, and i would give blood for him. but there is no way you could tell it was him in an advertisement.

I'm more concerned about the nurses in the picture.
I mean seriously, what are they wearing?

It's appalling, confusing, and I dun like it!

....omg Sony, FIRE YOUR ENTIRE MARKETING DEPARTMENT AND HIRE ME! I have NO experience or knack for it, but I will do SO MUCH BETTER than your current lot, who are verging on criminally incompetent, can someone name me ONE PS3 commercial that actually made you want to buy a PS3? I have never seen one.

I reckon the giving blood etc is symbolic of giving life to the characters once more. It's not that confusing.

Perhaps it's meant to represent the kid playing the Nazi team in a shooter, and thus giving life to a Nazi soldier or general every time he spawns?

Did anyone over there bother to find out what kind of a man Erwin Rommel was?
A soldier, not a nazi. He cannot be called a nazi, as he was, at no point, a member of the nazi party. He had a clean recors as far as generals so. He was noted for treating POWs well, opposing old man Adolf both militaristcally and ideologically- HE WASN'T A DAMN NAZI!

Anyway, not sony nor the people complaining probably thought of that. I suppose the marketing department had a rather clever idea, which was screwed up by an overenthusiastic art director. Putting a swastika just anywhere is going to cause a stir.
In all honesty, how many people would look at that advertisement and say, "Hey, that's Erwin Rommel, what a swell guy."
I took a glance at it, which is what many people do to advertisements, and if no one told me that was Erwin Rommel, I would have never known. In that picture, it does look like a gamer giving blood to a regular Nazi. That's why it's controversial.

To any mom or dad looking at the advert, they'll think that Sony's a bunch of loons. Parents might not buy it just because of that advertisement.

Off topic: I know he was never a Nazi. He was not even tried for war crimes because everyone knew he was a standup guy. He actually opposed Hitler. :)

Well... I gotta admit... Erwin Rommel was a pretty cool guy.
eh was a Nazi respected by the allies and doesn't afraid of anything?

OT: Yeah, reading a bit about him just now, Rommel was awesome, but that's kind of beside the point. I kind of can tell what's going on here, but I'm sure most people won't instantly recognize the guy as Rommel, and, the Nazi commander would be the ENEMY if anything. The Joan of Ark one made more sense, but it was much more creepy.

Well, the most noticable thing for me was how much the nurses care the living 'ell out of me.

Also, does this mean that they are respnding to peoples requests to make a game where your a Nazi? Not seeing that as a good idea myself.

This is a strange and unusual event that is occurring right now, and I should question my perceptions.

One the one hand...I don't get it.

On the other hand...I DON'T GET IT.

SONY! WHAT. ARE. YOU. THINKING?! You're marketing a video game system that does next to everything, and does it well. Its re-designed and just had a price drop. HOW do you come up with "Nazi blood transfusion" and "Heart transplant?"

Look, I get that controversy creates cash, but...WHAT?

You know,Rommel was a pretty cool guy indeed. eh killed aliens He was good commander,A Father To His Men,treated POWs decently, refused to kill the Jews, and even participated in a plot against Hitler. I would have given blood to him. But these ads make no damn sense whatsoever.

You know what they could do? Not only in Chili, but on international scale? Replace Rommel with Ratchet. Or at least Solid Snake, which would also make a lot of sense. Less controversy, more awesome.

Sony's a Japanese company, there's not telling what the hell they're thinking at anytime.
