Ok, if you are a woman/girl and are about to flay me alive, stop. I dont mean all women, i mean wymen with a y, you know, the "crush that two-balled woman hater" type of woman. They're becoming a more visible force wether you would like to admit it or not.
So here's my deal, in my time ive only seen a few wymen, and i will recount a tale of one of those times for you (if you saw this in my romantics thread, ive decided that this deserves it's own discussion)
A little while back, it was a day like any other, and me and my friends where going to Timmies to go get some coffee and relax after our weekly ritual of D&D (NERD ALERT!) and as we are walking in there is a woman coming in behind us. Not particularly attractive but not manly or ugly either, just what seemed like an ordinary run of the mill 20 something woman.
Of course the rest of the guys don't think twice to hold the door open, but i however...do.
Big mistake. The woman starts practically yelling at me about how she doesn't need a man to hold the door open for her, and that as a individual confident woman she could take care of herself. So i let go of the door, said "thanks for the info vagiant" and i continued on to order my coffee.
The discussion is this. I believe that chivalry is dead, and i also believe that wymen killed it. Through that headstrong "i don't need a man" attitude. Also i just want to raise the point, at what point does combating sexist oppression become sexist itself? To put that sentence into perspective, consider this. It is considered empowering to have a womans' only gym, and yet a mens' only gym is chauvanistic, just plain sexist, or gay. Does that seem fair to you?
[EDIT] The door thing IS NOT, i repeat IS NOT the reason for the thread, the reason for the thread is to discuss the impacts of the more extreme end of the feminist mindset. The Door at the Timmies is just an EXAMPLE, of what im talking about that just happens to have been experienced by me.
