Quite young at 52. Best live singer I've ever seen. Sad loss.

Yeah, does suck, some of my favorite songs are by Soundgarden, from back in the day. Never did like Audioslave though.

Somebody for the love of god find Eddie Vedder and protect him at all cost... /joke

Seriously though, I'm a huge 90's kid and this is heartbreaking. 3 out of the 4 big grunge bands are now gone. I expected Scott Weiland passing so I wasn't surprised when that news hit, but this completely blindsided me.

When I woke up this morning I was wondering why the radio station I was listening to was playing a lot of Soundgarden, and then the song ended and I found out why.

Sucks, man.

Wasn't a huge fan of Audislave, and Temple of the Dog was okay. Soundgarden was the shit though and one of my favorite grunge bands.

Supposedly, it was suicide by hanging. That bums me out even more than him just dying of some random disease.

This song makes me sad now.

How unfortunate. I was a nineties teen and Soundgarden was one of my favorite bands from the era.

Off topic... Powers Boothe also died. I believe it was on Sunday.

And his last tweet was less than a day ago. I am legitimately creeped out by that.

I really don't want it to be suicide. Look, I know that depression and suicidal thoughts don't adhere to logic (I know it very well, thank you), but to kill yourself when everything is going your way and you couldn't really want for much of anything... I can't understand that.

Known to me as the creator of the best James Bond theme ever, but listening to Like A Stone for the first time, I see the similarities there even if that song is much more downbeat. Sigh.

Agents of SHIELD just dedicated their 4th season finale in memory of Powers Boothe.

I dunno. Been listening to alot of, well, mostly Audioslave. As someone with depression and ever increasing suicidal thoughts, alot of it is really hitting home.

Having lots of good stuff doesnt matter if its not the stuff you truly want, the things that would make you actually happy.

That's rough. I'm not that big a fan of Soundgarden/Audioslave, but I do really like the songs "Black Hole Sun" and "You Know My Name", so, there's that.

You know, of all the big Grunge band front men, I never thought Eddie Vedder and mad, loopy Billy Corgan would be the last ones around.

This makes me very sad. I actually liked Audioslave too.

Honestly, I'm rather surprised it was suicide. Didn't he just complete a show the same day? They just started a tour, too. The idea that he killed himself bothers me. I had assumed it was an overdose or something a bit more natural (even if he was a bit young for death by natural causes).

Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem.

I told my son that the other day, because one of his friends was talking about it.

I have to say Chris Cornell's death has shocked me. The first time I heard 'Outshined' it literally changed the course of my musical tastes. I went and got the single on cassette that day and saved up and bought Badmotorfinger as soon as I could after that.

Layne Staley and Scott Weiland's deaths were an inevitability, Kurt's death was a shock when it happened but not overly surprising. Chris on the other hand, I always saw him as the healthy, well-adjusted member of the grunge fraternity. Such a brilliant voice too, and by all accounts a nice guy. May he rest in peace.

Considering that Vedder usually turns up drunk to a concert and then keeps drinking and Corgan kept the one guy in the band who parties so hard that other band member die trying to keep up... I'm surprised too.
