"Thank you my master" Isaac says as he grabs the pouch from Eovik's outstretched hand had he not reached out I would've had to actually bend down and grab it, he's always going on about his exosuit... wonder if it includes stilts as well Isaac lets out a quiet laugh so as to not have everyone wonder if he's crazy or not. "Please excuse me for a moment, I have to go grab a few things from my room before we head out" Isaac quickly bows out to excuse himself as he dashes upstairs into his room I can't believe I almost forgot those blueprints! Father would kill me if I ever lost those Isaac darts past Fitzgerald squinting his eyes so as not to be blinded by his golden armor. And after grabbing what he needed to save time hops over the railing onto the floor beneath where everyone is gathered.

Trace sat down, as he could barely stand. He had not understood much of this mission, if he had been sober it would have been fine, but being drunk had caused him to become confused over some points, "So... Ahhh" he hiccuped, "When does we go?" he said happily, leaning back on his chair and letting his arm hang off the chair. He leaned back to far and fell over, smashing his head against the wall, "Dammit" he yelled out, but couldn't be bothered to get up properly, so he just continued to lay on the ground.

Nailos walking down from his room managed to see Trace smash his head, Nailos chuckled slightly. "Here Trace." Nailos said waving his arms around a brilliant golden light slowly fell to the floor. "That a spell to help cure hangovers alot of us Clerics used it in our eariler years of training." Nailos continued down stairs and joined the rest of the group."Did I miss anything, besides this new fellow?" Nailos turned to him, "What is your name sir, I am Nailos the groups Cleric."

"Underground?"

Kinglet glanced up at Garrant, watching his reaction.

"Why'd he want us for that? Though never-mind if it pays well, I just wonder."

As the light went over Trace, he instantly felt better. He began to laugh, "Thanks man" but quickly muttered to himself, "Why hasn't Roxald learnt that yet". He rubbed the back of his head, it hurt a bit, but he would be fine. "My question still stands, when do we leave?"

Garrant's mind was busy going over the details of the job, weighing risk/reward as he always did before a job and so far everything clicked, afterall, he would be in the shadows, he had experiance and who knows? There might be some loot wherever they were off to. But then...

"Why'd he want us for that?"

His heart skipped a beat as he turned, grabbed Kinglet by the arm and gently, yet firmly led her outside. When they had gotten outside, Garrant looked Kinglet dead in the eye, a look of concern on his face.

"Your not coming with us"

She stared at Garrant with her mouth half open. Then she snatched at the arm holding her and curled her fingers into the fabric of his arm guard. Her grip was a lot less gentle as she tried to pry the hand off.

"I am," she informed him.

"Why-ever wouldn't I?"

"This isn't just a simple manse job, it is going to be very dangerous..... People will die"

He continued to look at her, his eyes almost pleading for her to heed his words, this would be too much for her. Kinglet wasn't like him, as far as he knew, she hadn't felt her hands warm and slick with blood, looked into the eyes of a dying foe or felt his dying breath against her skin. He wanted to not just protect her from the dangers of the mission ahead, he wanted to protect her innocence, however little there may be.

"You not going, thats final, I'll cut you in on the take but you are staying here"

Nailos with no answer turned to Issac and caught up on the details of the quest ahead."We go underground with water elements?" A subtly worried look appeared over Nailos' face. "If it is to get water to the people of this village then we shall and I'm sure those scouts just fell into some bad luck and got lost."

"I am going. If you think you can make me stay you'r sorely mistaken. Every single manse job could have gone awry, so why care about rooting around in a bunch of caves."

Kinglet tried to hold the stare. And while her words remained smooth and confident, her eyes eventually flitted to rest on a spot above his right shoulder. She fidgeted, glanced back at him, and looked away again.

She hated it when he stared at her like that. It made her feel small. Insignificant. And strangely... out of place.

"There isn't just a possibility Kay, its certainty and we don't know what we might find down there. Besides..."

He trailed off, not wanting to complete the sentance for fear of not just offending her but also raising troubling implications as to his own expertise. He hadn't told her about the assassin work, hadn't told anyone infact, ever. That was a chapter of his life he didn't want to bring up or even go back to, yet on some level, Kinglet knew, or at least she had her suspicions and he valued her opinion to highly to confirm those suspicions.

"Besides,"--she went to finish his sentence, though she knew it was not what he had planned to say--"I'm just a boo-hoo little girl that don't stand a chance in a rustle."

The young thief turned her eyes back to Garrant.

"Please. I'd rather stick my neck out down there while you are with me. The alternative is you not coming back up in time and me going to poke around in the tunnels on my lonesome."

Which she would, there was no doubt in her mind about it.

Maverick looked at Lyle with an analyzing expression and nodded "Yes, the list of mine. Would you please come with me good sir?" He said as he opened the Inn's doors and left the Inn. He glanced at his surroundings and, once satisfied that there was no on currently spying on them, pulled out a piece of worn paper. After glancing at it for a few seconds, he handed it to Lyle.

The Prodigal spoke "These are a list of Artificer resources that I require. While this list would not allow me to create an Exoskeleton what would allow me to be a God on the battlefield, they are still of use to me. The first half would involve several pieces of Hardware required to create several Magitek weapons, the latter would enable me to create an Exoskeleton suit. While I realize that asking for something like a Higher Earth Elemental would never be allowed, these items are still quite necessary. My current weaponry would probably conk out by the end of your quest, and it had been a while since I've crafted a Magitek Weapon. You may choose, of course, which one to give me first. Provided that the rest would be given to me after this quest."

A pained expression shot across Garrant's face for a moment, before it returned to its usual impassive, yet intense mask. Kay always did know how to convince him of these things and she was most likely right, if left behind curiosity would overcome her and she would follow regardless of his protests. She would be safer with them... Him. Where he could keep an eye on her and make sure she didn't get into any trouble.

Garrant exhaled slowly, turning away from her and letting out a long, exasperated sigh.

'She's with me, she's under my watch, I can protect her, keep an eye out. Distraction, yes but protection more important. However she is...'

"No combatant.... I mean, alright fine, you can come, but if things go awry then promise me, whatever happens, you will stay away from the fighting. That's the condition, are we clear Kinglet?"

He spoke her name to increase the seriousness of the situation, he only ever called her by her name if he was deadly serious, just as he was now.

"Mh."

She understood the severity, anything else would prove her an idiot. That he spoke out her name only made it sink in more profoundly. Her stomach gave a slight lurch and her heart decided to crawl into her lungs.

"We're clear."

The girl sniffed and tried to pull her arm away again.

"I'll hang back and make sure I'm not in the way. You won't even notice I'm there."

Garrant released her arm but continued to stand in silence for a moment, letting the message sink in, the last thing he wanted to be worried about was Kinglet trying to fight some monstrous foe, while he was occupied with another

Finally his intense gaze gave way to a warm smile and he nodded to her.

"Ok, lets re-join our companions, try to glean what information you can from them and trust no-one"

He nodded to her once more before donning his neutral persona once more and re-entering the inn. He made his way over to the group and he stood silently, trying to appear more receptive to a conversation, yet interesting at the same time and somehow distant at the same time.

Kinglet realized that her muscles had stretched taught with tension during the confrontation, and it took her a while to ease them up. She "Mh"'ed at Garrant in reply and followed him back into the Inn.

There she split from his side, sauntered over to the bar and tried to order herself something cool to drink. That, and a loaded platter of breakfast. Eggs, bacon, ham, bread--she didn't really know where to stop there.

Taven shakes his head slowly as fitzgerald walks by. at first he does not notice the young man questioning him, only responding as he turns to leave
"Taven. my name is Taven."
he observes the group as he talks, speaking absentmindedly to the cleric
"you are a healer? perhaps you should check on your compatriots"

the pale man, with the dark eyes, he cant be trusted
that girl... I have doubts if she can hold up in combat. the man near her will no doubt protect her, but that makes him less useful.
speaking of the man with her, there's something wrong with his...back? no, probably the arm... he's hiding an injury somewhere.

what now from the golden beacon...two shields? does that man even carry a weapon?

Nailos was wondering around the group checking on them making sure they were ready to go, he noticed that Garrant was holding his arm funny. "Garrant did you hurt yourself somehow? Would you like me to take a look at it and see what I could do?"

Garrant turned to regard the man that had just addressed him, offering aid, he watched him with his cool emerald eyes before replying, his tone grateful yet cold.

"I do not require aid, I have dealt with my problem thoroughly"

'No way I'm letting that mage get his hands on me, debilitating me with some kinda of hex or...'

"Curse" he said softly and under his breath, only just loud enough to register as a word but not loud enough for his mystery healer to hear... Hopefully

"Forgive me but who are you?"
