Lots of good stuff on this here thread, but I'd like to make a little contribution of a different kind. Namely a relatively new band that I've come to love meself but definitely needs more love. An American band, from Pennsylvania in fact, that is trying to revoke the old classical metal vibe, with a little bit of touch from folkish influence.

AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Alice Cooper, Guns 'N Roses, Iron Maiden, Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Motley Crue, Motorhead, Van Halen, Judas Priest, Queen, Pantera. Those are all the bands I like that could called Classic.
