Their most popular song is probably metal on metal.Nazulu said:I've never heard them before, what songs would you recommend?Little Duck said:If you're into metal look into Anvil.
Barely anyone knows about them and they used to tour as a headlining band with people like Status Quo, Def Leapoard and the like.
Just start torrenting albums like it's your job.Chicago Ted said:Alright members of the Escapist. I am always on the look out for more music for my iPod. I've done a few requests before for this, and everytime I get a flood of good suggestions. I now come to you for a request of classic rock.
Now, my playlist for classic rock already consists of 70 songs, but I still want more. So please members of the Escapist, point me in the direction of some new material and some new bands that would suit this desire.
Fanfare for the Common man is one of my favourite tracks ever.Nazulu said:I bet most of you don't know Emmerson, Lake and Palmer (ELP). They are kind of like Pink Floyd in a way.
Sorry man, November Rain was a suckfest.Nazulu said:And now you have left me no choice but to ask which GnR songs your talking about, if don't say November Rain then you fail miserably as a human being.
Your fucking right he is. I saw him in concert with B.B. King back in February, and there is no doubt that that concert will never be topped.Sexual Harassment Panda said:Buddy Guy is a stone cold badass.
Fair enough. But MOST people don't and never will. A lot of music students and lovers (sometimes myself included) forget that for most people music is just a bit of fun. No amount of showing them it's only 2 chords, 12 bars or a Beatles rip-off will change that. If they like it, they like it. Crazy and outlandish as that may soundDonnyp said:Well i do care about Treble Clefs and Parallel Fifths and chord progression since i play guitar and i want to teach it lol.AndyVale said:Thank you for spelling AC*LIGHTENING BOLT*DC correctly
They've never pretended to be musically excellent, they just play dirty blues and have done for years. No cover ups, it's just what they do and even if it is simple it still sounds good!
Reminds me of the chats I used to have with music students who'd try say that so&so was bad and we should all listen to this&that. To which I pointed out that most people don't care about treble clefs, parallel fifths and chord progression, they just want something that sounds nice and keeps them entertained between birth and death.
Yeah I prefer the original Knocking on Heavens Door a lot more and maybe your last choice was Estranged or Civil War I reckon.Donnyp said:thats one. Sweet Child Of mine paradise City and there was another but don't remember it lol. Not Knocking on heavens door. They ruined that for me. Also i have 2 Journey Songs lol. Hold on to that feeling or whatever it is and Wheel in the sky....Got that off a Sound Track though lol.Nazulu said:Sorry, I just never understood Journey, their songs are just so weak. ACaDaCa at least wrote some great riffs and pop songs. Also I know they wrote great songs, shit loads better compared to crap bands these days so don't tell me they aren't.Donnyp said:Journey is a .....joke. All Classic rock lovers have 1-2 Journey songs lol. But GnR and AC(lightning Bolt)DC Were huge but when you pay attention to the music itself its not that good. And i stick by saying GnR only have 4 songs worth listening to.Nazulu said:Well thats your incredably poor opinion. Last I checked, they both kicked the crap out of Journey.Donnyp said:Hes not missing out. GnR isn't that good an neither is AC/DC at least form a musical point of view.Nazulu said:OMG your missing out on so much! You need to get some more.Chicago Ted said:Not really fully stocked. I have 4 from ACDC, Thunderstruck, Highway to Hell, Hells Bells, and TNT, and GnR I have 4 also, Sweet Child of Mine, Paradise City, Welcome to the Jungle, and Knockin' On Heaven's Door. Also saw GnR in concert a few years back.Ultrajoe said:Get some Cold Chisel!
And i'm assuming you're fully stocked on GnR and ACDC.
AC/DC - Back in Black, It's a Long Way to the Top, Whole Lotta Rosie, You Shook Me All Night Long and For Those About to Rock.
Guns N' Roses - November Rain (their most famous song), Civil War, Estranged, Mr. Brownstone, Coma and My Michelle.
You can have the fun of finding the rest yourself.
And now you have left me no choice but to ask which GnR songs your talking about, if don't say November Rain then you fail miserably as a human being.
