While I wouldn't take it THAT far, I do think that there quite a few misunderstandings and marginalizations about professional wrestling as whole. It is the duty of every fan of good conscience to educate and dispel all the ugly rumors and stereotypes!
Keep up the questions, people!

So... What was it exactly that made Chris Benoit snap? Did he already have problems, or was it medication?

Did you ever choose a side back when the draft was first initiated?

Should Wrestling games really be in the sports genre?

Well, according to most he had worked with in the past (despite actually being kind of a nice guy to be around and a phenomenal worker at that) say that he may have had pre-existing mental problems. Once, after a lousy show, Chris Jericho caught him backstage doing 300 hundred consecutive Hindu squats as penance. He never usually laughed at jokes, unless they involved people falling over like on America's Funniest Home Videos.
He received a rather unusual number of Traumatic Brain Injuries, most of which resulting form the occasionally irresponsible way that he worked. He would take unprotected chair shots to THE BACK of the head. Nobody else would do that.
This combined with some alcoholism, and the medication, combined with stress were probably what set it off.
If you want to know more, read anything by Christopher Nowinski of the Sports Legacy Institute. Avoid Mike Randazzo, he's a troll.

No, not really. It's just a worked (storyline) draft, so it doesn't really matter to me. All the draft tells me is what show I'll probably end up trying to sit through.
Don't get me wrong, the WWE has some great wrestlers signed right now.
The just rarely ever use them right. It's mostly unwatchable for me at times, as a wrestling fan.

Yeah, because in the game it's treated as a competitive sport.
Besides, where else could it go?

Surprised no-one's asked me my opinion on "The Wrestler" starring Mickey Rourke...

Okay!

Whatever happened to The Ultimate Warrior?
Used to pick him all the time on this arcade machine I played to death when I was a kid.
Could never beat The Legion of Doom though... No matter how hard I tried.

That arcade machine was my only real experience with WWF or (WWE now I guess) until I discovered that Raw actually has a timeslot on norwegian tv!

Have to say though: It´s not as cool as I remember.
Also: The Legion of Doom could kick Nexus´ asses! They were REAL badasses! Spikes and everything!

He went a little bit crazy...
He changed his name to "Warrior" so he could keep the copyright away from Vince...
Now he does crazy right wing youtube blogging and other such things...

As for coming back into wrestling:
Nice to hear from Norway. I've had friends there before.
If you want a good first impression of modern day pro wrestling, stay away from RAW.
It's ok, but it's nothing to "write home about" 5/10.
Try Ring of Honor on HD NET. Since you don't get HD NET in Norway, just watch it online.
Dragon Gate USA, Pro Wrestling Guerilla, Chikara Pro...any of those are usually pretty good.
Most anything from Japan or Mexico will fit the bill just fine too.

Everyone remembers the Legion of Doom.
We'll all miss Hawk.

Wrestle, Fight, doesn't matter, its fake. anyway I'd hardly call guys bouncing of ropes and jumping off ladders wrestling. I just really don't understand the appeal of something so obviously fake, except for the really thick, everybody knows they don't really hit each other(really some of the crap they do, if it were real there should be blood or bruising or something if not broken limbs and spines.)and after a match they go off stage and all sit around shake hands and have a cup of tea with each other.
Why do people watch movies?
They're obviously fake.

Not nearly as obviously. Not to mention the acting in movies for the most part is quite believable and well done and depending on your tastes in movies the effects are generally pretty good and often the stories are pretty excellent (if you know where to look)

The acting in wrestling is shit house, I'm not a huge fan of fireworks, and the stories they have rarely surpass "You slept with my sister, I'm going to kick you in the nuts"

Well, it's not a competitive sport, but it still counts as a legitimate athletic endeavor...
It's a bit of both really.
More sport than art...
Personally, I've never understood comparing it to Opera.
Opera has scripts, sheet music, and expresses everything through singing...
Wrestling leans toward being 70% improv...

Oh, and since I already answered questions similar to "The Tim"'s and TheComedown's, I refer them to pages 1-2.

I remember there were a few decent actors in wrestling when I was watching it (I stopped around 1999 so maybe it got worse over the years).
Besides, the fights may be scripted but they're entertaining.
When I watch UFC, it usually goes like this:
There's a small exchange of kicks and punches, then one guy falls down and the other either twists his arm/leg or proceeds to beat him up on the ground.
Wrestling has flips, tricks, signature moves, breaking guitars on someone's head, jumpinf off ladders etc.
It just looks far more visually impressive (even if it is fake).

p.s. The acting and visual effects in movies are GENERALLY not that good or believable (that kind of depends on who is involved in making them but that's another topic).
