You are on a tv gameshow with three doors. Behind two doors are $1 each and behind the third door is $50000. The host asks you to pick a door. When you do, the host opens a door different from the one you picked to reveal $1. He then asks if you want to switch the door you picked. Do you?
yes, I don't know why but there is some math equation that explains it.
Is this question from the movie 21, because that is how I know what i answered.
It's from before 21, but you are right. If you stay with your original guess, you have a 1/3 chance of the 50000. If you change your pick, you have a %50 chance.
Um...y'all sure about that? Whether you pick a different door or not the odds of the situation (and your random pick) have been reduced to a ratio of 1:2. It's an even 50-50 chance whether you pick another door or not.
Ok, here's an easy one for you guys...I'm sure you'll knock this one right outta the park! And remember: All brain-teasers are easy...once you see through them.
There's a great big cargo ship docked in a port somewhere. This ship has paint marks at 1 foot intervals up the side to measure displacement. Currently the water is right at the 10 foot mark. But the tide is coming in and it rises at a rate of 2 feet per hour!! In 3 hours (assuming the tide rises at a constant rate the whole time), at which mark will the water level be?
