As dumb and as horrible as it is because it would drive everyone crazy although supply an immense ammount of challenge to games, is respawns. In real life once you die. YOUR DEAD. No do overs no checkpoints. Now videogame on the other hand are horrible at this since the spawn you back at your last checkpoint. Now this wouldn't be so bad since games such as Boarderlands and Bioshock have a good reasoning for this and even explain it in the games. Though for some reason games like Halo (oh I loathe thee)you miraculosly spawn.

Why can't someone else save the world for a change?
Well, they could in Fall Out 3 sans Broken Steel. You can just go along for the ride in the last conflict. It's a change from the ordinary, but it does have the effect of making the player feel like a tool of convenience.
Maybe if the player had to rush to save the day first for glory, it will give players the sense that the protagonists earned it for once rather than have it dropped in their laps or foist onto them.

The people who refuse to give you plot items that are necessary for PREVENTING THE WORLD FROM EXPLODING IN A MASSIVE FIREBALL OF DEATH AND DESTRUCTION unless you rescue their cat.

Example: Not quite as bad as the above, but in Super Mario Sunshine, there are people standing RIGHT NEXT TO THE SHINE GATE and they refuse to give you the Shine Sprites that the island needs to survive. Wtf? Why not just send the Shine Sprite back to the arch, it's not like Mario has to be the one to put it back...

Also those raccoons are greedy assholes. You're going to charge me 10 blue coins for something that powers you're whole island.

So if I don't pay you, YOU'RE screwed? Well alright then...

SPOILER ALERT!

Whatever you and the bad guys are after has some sort of ancient evil sellaed away inside that you need to defeat. (Most recent example Borderlands)

There are tons of overused cliches in gaming, I really feel that games are less about creativity and more about doing the same thing over and over again because tards love buying the same game at a higher price.

I enjoy games that like to challenge the clear-cut good/evil situations. I don't think anything is 100% good or 100% evil and labeling it as such seems silly to me.

To the guy who said using the same thing over and over again isn't necessarily a bad thing, I have mixed feelings. Saying if something works, don't try to fix it makes sense, but you can't use one utility for all your daily needs. What I'm saying is that having only one unchanging thing just doesn't work.

You die in this level, but we'll only let you continue playing if you die AT THE RIGHT POINT, if you die even 5 metres from this point, you will have to restart.

GAH I HATE THIS IN GAMES!!!!!11

Regenerative health. I mean, it was okay in Call Of Duty, and maybe the Halo series, (haven't played them, got a PS3) but I miss the good old days were you couldn't just hide for a few seconds to magically regain health. I think that more games should implement the MGS3 health system. Some health is lost depending on the attack, but some of the health lost can be regained with treatment. Any unrecoverable health must be regained over time, very, very slowly, (about ten minutes.) If you have a treatable injury, you have to go into the treatment window, where you use several instruments of surgery to repair yourself. For instance, a broken arm will need a bandage and a splint, while a burn will require a bandage, salve, and ointment. Leeches can be burned off with a cigarette, etc. I think it's really innovative having the player searching around for supplies like that, but no one seems to care anymore.

The evil computer AI. Seriously, can we get the computer AI being in the right and the humans in the wrong for once?
