A game that disguises itself as a partially horror game but has a main character that's: a white Tommy Testosterone Tits, and gives away to shooting or using retarded Super Duper Mega Powers!!! I mean WTF??? How do you expect us to be scared when we can blow a 1000000 enemies with a single shot from our overpowered weapons! (unless it is for laughs, like the HL2 zombies and headcrabs ^-^) Also: Damn those space marines that populate the 50% of FPSs, WTF happed to health meters?, retarded NPCs and of course vehicle sections where the cars handle like a hippo on ice and you spin 360 degrees even if you gentily tap the "steer" button :(

In my opinion mute CAN be good look at HL2 what would it be like if Gorden ran around screaming he's being chased by a man in a bussiness suit?
Alyx would not be very happy to stick with him through episodes 1 & 2 that's for damn sure :p

this is all good and fun, and these cliches are fun to rip on, but we all know that we need them.
I've wet myself several times at the prospect of playing ANOTHER grizzled space marine, and in no way have I been driven mad by the idea that dozens of better games could've been funded with the money spent on even 1 of these homoerotic spunk fights on the good ship compensation.
Yup, I sure do love me some cliches.

Random Nazi attacks.

It's like one minute you're killing aliens / bugs / dinosaurs / killer triffids, and then next - BOOM! Nazis! Where'd they come from? And why have they joined forces with the plant people / alien invaders?

You have to fight the final boss 3 times.

How often does that happen?

Just once, I'd like to see a boss have 4 forms. Or 10. The final boss in Wild Arms 3 had 10, why not do it in other games too?

or, here's a wild thought, instead of talking to them at gunpoint early in the game, or having a conversation with them whilst well amre, kill them the second you get the chance.. and I hate it when they drops they're weapons for a mono e mono battle *coughred steel*un-cough*. I have a shotgun, why can't I just shoot him?

Here's a novel idea: How about one that actually dies when you drain its health?

Evil, non-military villains with an ungodly number of masked henchmen. This is big with arcade shooters. Where do all these guys come from? How do you arrange over 80 bad guys to show up at one place at the same time wearing the same ski mask? Plus if the boss is so strong, and so capable, why does he wait for you to kill his ENTIRE army before fighting you? What's with all the "I'll let so-and-so deal with you" nonsense?

I also don't understand why in some games you can never kill police no matter how much they shoot you but soldiers are fair game. The same can be said about how you are never directed to attack NATO country soldiers; it's always a Nazi, Russian, or Arab.

Swords somehow doing more damage than bullets. It shouldn't be allowed!

Swords do more damage than bullets in reality, why should it be different in video games?

A large bladed object ripping through your flesh, muscle, and internal organs is bound to have more effect than a small piece of lead piercing your skin, muscle, and, if aimed right, maybe a major organ.
Please make my day now and tell me you are one of those fellows who brings a sword to a gun fight.

Ooh, ooh! I've got one.

Giant. Boobs.
Yeah, actually. I'd like a game where everyone isn't some shiny gift to the opposite sex. Howabout a game full of ugly people? Or people who look normal? IE: Ugly but with a lot of effort on their hair?

Frank from Dead Rising would be a good example. More Franks!

The number three.
It's always three.
Three hits on the weak spot, three Triforces, three main characters (you, the sidekick/damsel in distress and the villain).

And eyes. It's ALWAYS the eyes that you have to shoot at.

AND ANDROSS CLONES.
This only really applies in Nintendo games, but there are just too many bosses that have the basic "floating head with disembodied hands" model.

Nah, wound ballistics generally do more than that. A sword would also rely on cutting through the ribcage unless aimed right. There's a general reason swords aren't used any more.
The reason is: guns can be fired from faaaaaaar away. And these days, faster than chopping at someone with a hunk of metal. But disembowling someone is more satisfying with a blade (and easier)
