Good ol' nazis, zombies, exploding barrels, and of course female sidekicks with impossibly large lady parts. Might be cliche but the formula seems to be working pretty well dontcha think...

Swords in games, I know full well that swords have been around long enough in human culture to be imparted with magical properties unlike guns, but there are other types of melee weapons out there damn it!

Plus it's not skin alone. (I know im gonna sound racist but living in a neighborhood with primarily white people and growing up with chapelle and loving mencia you can't help but to notice this.) body features help give a more type of look. Like if your a hispanic you will normally have a specific type of nose mixed with brown skin. White can be brownish because of tanning alot i work in the sun have the time i look at pictures of me in the summer and winter and i confuse myself because it can change so dramatically.
That works great with sertain things but i wouldnt go around say the majority of X people have Y trait. The biggest example is hispanics, there (ok WERE) divided into two groups hispanics and latinos. Hispanics are more of a eclectic cultur so our aperence is a like a game of russian ruelet, latinos on the other hand are you classic pure aztec/mayan warrior.

but i do agree with you god of wars Cratos look like an albino black guy...

p.s. im no racist and in dyslexic so i dont want any of that "your a horrible person for a) you commentary, or b) you distruction of the english language. Im and american born citizen so dotn even says shit like "leave this country you beaner"

I don't think that Vehicle sections are too much of a problem, I'd just wish that the vehicle would handle like an actual car or truck or whatever it's supposed to be instead of a bar of soap on a slip-and-slide covered with vaseline.

This is the internet. Someone, somewhere, does. And has just found this page after googling the above phrase.

Swords do more damage than bullets in reality, why should it be different in video games?

A large bladed object ripping through your flesh, muscle, and internal organs is bound to have more effect than a small piece of lead piercing your skin, muscle, and, if aimed right, maybe a major organ.
O_O do you know what a JHP rifle round will do to the human body?

imagine 1,309 foot lbs of energy collected into a small hole in the tip of a five and a half millimeter round being released in your body. A projectile going 3100 feet per second suddenly stopping and expanding and shattering in your body.

Yeah, when a bullet can hit your let, bounce off the bone, and fly up through your internal organs and kill you, while a sword would leave a 'flesh wound'(you're legs cut off! no it isn't), I have to say the bullet is more destructive.

The reason video games have the swords and melee weapons doing more damage, is balance. The difficulty of getting in close with all those little death pellets wizzing around the battle field is somewhat offset by the damage from close ranged weapons. It's not realistic, it's functional. Shoot, ever since people started fighting they've wanted ways to hit harder from father. You got a club, I got a spear. I get a sword, then you get a bow. You get a rifle, I get a Sniper Rifle. You go all bomber on us, we get all ICBM. More damage, farther away, is the gist. Transferring that to a game realistically is tough because real life weapons are designed to be both powerful and safer at range, then up close. So a little bit of reality gets tossed out for this "fun" thing to be allowed in.

And after saying that, I've gotta say it's nice to go and shoot a few rounds off down range.

Yeah, actually. I'd like a game where everyone isn't some shiny gift to the opposite sex. Howabout a game full of ugly people?
You've never played Oblivion, have you?

Don't know if they've been said before, so sorry for any repetition.

If there's a barrel, 50-50 chance it'll explode when shot.
There are always more villagers than houses.
Your powers are always stripped at the beginning of a sequel, meaning you lose all the cool weapons and skills you spent hours acquiring during the last game.

A cliche that most people fail to notice is the fact that the final boss usually has more than one form and you have to kill him like friggin 20 times before the basterd goes down (My main example of the is Ganandorf (from the legend of zelda series) who always had to be killed at least 3 times before he died)
