Dreamfall: The Longest Journey.

Spoiler: The ending of the game was truly depressing. Spoilers underneath.

Of the two main characters, one is injured, chucked into a swamp, presumed dead or nearly so, while the other is in a coma.

Yeah and you left out a lot of other really bad things that happened at the end...I loved that game so much but the ending is so sad and what makes it worse is we were promised a part 3 to complete the series but it never happened. The characters fates were permanent it seems.

Permanent? No, not likely. But we'll probably still be waiting for a long time to come before we find out what happens next. Ragnar Tornquist has often teased that he's got the entire plot written down so it does exist, it's just a question of when and how we'll see it.

Sly Cooper 3: Honor Among Thieves ended with quite a cliff-hanger. Yes, I know we have Sly 4 coming out, and it seems to answer the question, but really...it doesn't seem to be resolved, just altered. I love this franchise more than any other, and I'm scared since it isn't Sucker Punch doing it, but Sanzaru...it saddens me, but at the same time, doesn't feel as true a sequel as Sucker Punch doing it.

Call me a snob, but I want to see what Sucker Punch would do with the ending of the Sly trilogy

Sly gets hit on the head and forgets who he is, and Carmalita tells him he's her partner, and he becomes a cop. They're seen dancing together, and Sly looks at the camera and winks, possibly indicating he knows exactly what's going on and faked the amnesia

Your one of the last humans in existance. Then one of the other humans tries to kill the galactic senate thing and you stop them. It ends with getting sent through a portal to a frozen planet, walking some way, then passing out, only to have someone step into frame before it ended. At least that's what I remember.

FFXIII-2. It ends with the universe and all timelines being destroyed, and Sarah dies. So Noel is trapped in nothingness for the rest of eternity as the last living thing in existence.

And you didn't feel the need for a spoiler tag? FUCK SAKES, I haven't finished the game yet...and you ruined it for me.

The game came out in 2011, and we're quickly approaching 2013. If you hadn't finished it by now, I really have to question if you ever planned on finishing it in the first place.

I don't care how many people have said it, I'm going to say it again. Half Life 2. The end of Episode 2 punched players in the junk and then left them rolling on the ground with no relief in sight.

Please Valve? If we all ask really nicely, will you finish the story? I mean, I love your Steam sales and all, but I don't play TF2 that often so you haven't given me much lately. Besides, how awesome would it be if, for one year, people wouldn't argue about Call of Duty or Battlefield because "La, la, la, we can't hear those games over the sound of HALF LIFE 3!!!" Think about that for a second.

Dreamfall: The Longest Journey.

I just bought The Longest Journey bundled with Dreamfall during the summer sale. I finished the first game, but am in the middle of Dreamfall right now, so I took great pains to avoid clicking the spoiler. I'm loving the game, combat mechanics notwithstanding. However, I have heard from a great number of people who've played it, that the ending leaves a lot unresolved. Fun Com decided against more single-player games after Dreamfall, but with The Secret World floundering, maybe they'll reconsider before attempting another MMO. But if they do, for fucks sake make the fighting bits a lot smoother.

Seriously, though. I LOVED the campaign, it was so fun, and Bulletstorm is still the single best FPS I have ever played.

No one's said it yet? PSI-OPS! That game had the best physics for telekinesis. It was amazing and I played so much of it.
