Repeating what I said in the other version of this thread:

A couple years ago (this is gonna sound really pathetic) I almost died in a tube sled accident.

Fell asleep with a modified condition one M16 underneath my chin. The modification? It was on semi. Magazine inserted, round in chamber, ejection port cover closed. Not on safe.

...oh, you want accidental examples.

Up on Schilthorn, it's this really tall mountain in Switzerland, and I was standing next to the edge of a 100+ foot drop. If I had slipped at all I would've fallen to my death.

Almost drowned once. I went swimming at my grandparent's who live right on the river, I jumped in and the current was going a little faster than I anticipated carrying me under, and getting me trapped under the dock. Of course I started panicking and wasted valuable oxygen flailing around, but I guess all that flailing did some good because I managed to escape.

Closest i've gotten was 2 days ago.
i had my headphones while i was playing DDO and i got bored waiting for it to load.so i decided to spin around in my chair and the headphone cord wrapped around my neck very tightly and i couldn't breath.i panicked and it didn't occur to me to spinn the opposite way.luckily it did occur to me after a couple seconds and i was able to unwrapp the cord from around my neck.
I couldn't help but laugh... Glad you're alright though... =P

I am pretty sure had you actually killed yourself that would have been worthy of a Darwin Award :D

As for me, well I gotta say I don't think I have ever came close to death. I have been lucky so far. Actually I have never even broke a bone or got any major scars... Fingers crossed my luck doesn't run out.

I managed to get lost several hundred miles from in the middle of a forest during camping trip(I admit it I'm a camper and I always bring a knife xP) were I got lost but managed to use
a mix of balls survival instinct and adrenaline to find a road and hitch hike to a place that exist on a map and burrow a phone.

A few months later a similar thing happened again.....

I nearly walked into a road - a pickup truck drove by so close to my face that I swear I felt the paint on my face - luckily I was wearing a hoodie and my friend yanked me back.

In the news this morning, there was an article about a kid who fell 16 stories and survived. Ask him.

For me, it'd be the time I was on a boat, and... fuck, I've posted this long-ass story a million times. Go find it if you really wanna know.

Got hit almost by a bullet ricochet. Felt it go right through my hair with a very audible whistle.

That was when we found out there was a steel sheet behind our target.

When I was little I wanted to prove that I was old enough to swim in the "big kids pool" instead of the kid pool, nearly drowned. That happened about twice or so.

Walking around. Just doing this around my neighborhood (and the nearby town) has resulted in me being mugged/stabbed (same incident), hit by a car (drunk dude), and shot(stray bullet, and a very long story.). The shame of it is I really live in a VERY quiet neighborhood where these things almost never happen, except to me, apparently.

I've almost drowned twice.
The first time I had a little help. I got pushed off a raft in the 8ft deep section of the pool (I was 5 at the time and not the greatest swimmer). My leg got caught in the ladder that was near me and I was stuck underwater until my friend's mother pulled me out.

The second time, I was tubing in GA with 2 other girls. It had rained and the water had gotten high and the river was moving faster than normal. We tried the tubes together so we wouldn't get separated. After getting stuck on some rocks, I hopped out of my tube to untangle us. The rope was behind by knee, pulled me under, and dragged me along the riverbed. Eventually the other two stopped the rafts by grabbing onto a branch. I still have scars on my arms and legs from where I was cut open. There was so much blood...

First time I was tobogganing, went off a jump wrong and nearly went headfirst into a pretty big tree, missed it by about a handsbreadth,

Second time I went to cross a busy road, thinking it was clear but forgot about the turn lane. Hummers look big close up.

I was on the road daydreaming when I was passing a turn I needed to make. I was cocky and thought I could make the turn even though I was driving at 40mph. I tried it and I ended up "Fishtailing." The car was heavily swaying left and right and I almost couldn't control it. Thankfully the car in the opposite lane wasn't close or else I would've crashed into it. Wake-up call for that day.

Well, i've survived many near death experiences, but those were all medical related, and im not quite sure we could call those accidental. However, this one new years eve i was at one of the local docks for the fishing fleet, and i was throwing snowballs at this one boat that was sinking very slowly, and i lost my balance and fell in (i live very close to the border between alaska and bc, so the water is very cold around here all the time, never mind that it was wintertime). That would've been really close if i didn't have a friend of mine with me at the time, he helped me up out of the water.

When i was around 6 or 7 i was tobogganing on this big hill near my house. The tube i was on had a leak in the back that proppelled me faster than usual and on top of that, the hill was covered in a sheet of ice that had just began to melt (the water on ice is the really slippery part). I pushed off the top of the hill, gained speed very quicklly, and face planted on a huge tree at the bottom of the hill. I almost got a concussion but i consider my self lucky. If the tree hadn't been there, my increased speed would've sent me into the street at rush hour.
