Clubs, what do you think of them?

As in nightclubs, the ones where people go to drink, dance, mingle or whatever it is they do in there.

Not my cup of tea I suppose, but I'm trying to understand it. And gamers may provide an answer to why I would prefer to stay in on a saturday night reading or playing videogames instead of paying a lot of money for lousy alcohol, to stand in line, have to shout in people's ears to talk to them and listen to horrible music.

Some helpful answers, what kinds have you been to, how was it for you. What did you do there? Was it fun? etc

They look and sound genuinely boring...

I'm not a heavy drinker (except at festivals) I don't dance. I hate clubbing music and I'd be annoyed by all the people there.

I just go to concerts instead.

I can't see the appeal, which may explain why I've never been to one.

[small]As may the fact I'm only 16.[/small]

But seriously, for the same reasons given in your OP, plus various other things like drugs, I cannot for the life of me understand the appeal of an evening in a nightclub.

They're horrible. Overpriced drinks, music too loud to communicate, entry fees, other human beings, ugh, I just loathe them so much.

I prefer staves and maces to be hon...oh, never mind.

They're too loud, too crowded, the food is overpriced, and I don't drink. Admittedly, I've only ever been in a club once (in Japan, strangely enough), but I haven't seen anything secondhand to contradict my own experience.

I used to go clubbing frequently, in pursuit of girls. That is literally the only worthwhile reason I can see for going to one. And even then, it can be an onerous ideal. It's basically a poorly lit room, with the shitty music turned up way too loud. Oh and watch where you step, how you step, and how you look at people, cause it's likely that you'll offend some drunk asshole and get bottled or punched. So, clubs suck, unless you're REALLY stupid and banal, or a woman, same thing. Either way, it generally sucks ass.

I don't dance. Dance music isn't my thing. People going to nightclubs are usually annoying selfcentered dicks. I don't drink.
I honestly can't see the appeal in it.
Go waste yourself and spend 4 ours flailing your body like spastic to headaching music. Sounds like heaven's back alley.

Edit: Oh yeah! Picking up girls is easy, but that's the only benefit, if you want a shallow relationship.

Not a big drinker, but have enjoyed going to clubs on occasion. The dancing, mingling with people...trying not to get stoned when using the bathroom from all the second hand smoke...ahh..good times. I outgrew that stage by the time I hit 30 though. Still love going to see live bands though.

They seem boring.
I went there once, all I got was loud music that I didn't like and people telling me girls they "had sex with"

Depends on your company, you can have a bigger crowd in a nightclub

As for myself, I prefer to stay indoors chillin ^_^

Maybe your just the person who enjoys peace and quiet and some solitude every once in a while, like me. I'm not old enough to go clubbing however they don't even attract me so if I couldn't they would most likely annoy me anyway.

Well perhaps I should start with this: I LIKE BINGE DRINKING. My "quiet night out with a couple of mates" on Friday night amounted to over 8 pints and getting to bed at 4:30am.

So my answer is that I don't particularly like them but it is where I tend to find some like-minded people. I don't think I'm built for clubs, I'm pretty sure the bass vibrates the shit out of my ribcage because if it's loud, I can't breathe properly.

So to summarise, it's a love-hate thing.

They're an OK weapon. Much prefer a Mace or a Flail though.

Oh. That kind of Club.
Not my kind of scene (even though I'm not at the age of going to them yet). Crappy music going so loud that everyone has to shout, people getting drunk and spouting complete and utter bollocks about shite I don't care about, and really all the people that you find in there all look like tossers.

i do not see the major appeal of nightclubs, my big case in point is my Brother.

he has often gone out to nightclubs and come back at ungodly hours in the morning, and he is tired all day and often goes back to bed in the afternoon. compare this to my habit, which is staying up till around midnight playing Pokemon/TF2 and watching TV, i get up at good times and am able to stay awake all day. plus i'm 15, therefore actually able to get into nightclubs.

the only good thing about nightclubs is that there should be a good amount of totty around in those places, if you get what i'm saying. :)

I hate clubs, I prefer to start drinking earlier (5-6ish rather than the usual 8-9) so that I'm the similar level of drunk by the time that pubs finish. I love this pub in Nottingham though that stays open until 4ish.

Not my sort of place really. I Don't like the sort of music they play, and it seems like it'd be way too load to tolerate. Also, the people there would more than likely be the sort I don't hang out with. To top it off, I'm not much of a dancer, and I don't really drink, smoke or do any drugs.

Basically, they don't sound like my description of fun.
