One word, music.

Music I enjoy turned up really loud = :)
Music I hate turned up really loud = :(

I personally prefer me a good party, cause then I have some chance of putting on reasonable music, instead of constant shitty R&B or whatever the fuck popular music is called.

Going out with friends can be fun. I'm not a heavy drinker, but dancing is pretty enjoyable. The thing is, you don't really need to be drunk. If you just cross that step and start to dance, you get an effect similiar to an alcohol "buzz".

Clubbing isn't something I do, or would want to do, on a very regular basis. I've been to clubs about 3-4 times this year, and it's just nice to do different things every now and then.

Clubs is not my cup of tea at all. I can't stand the music, they mostly only store lager(I'm an ale and dark beer kind of guy) and I hate being on a dance floor where half the people are kind of ok at dancing and the rest can't dance worth shit.

Nah, give me a quiet little pub and I'm heaven!

Clubs and clubbing is yet another thing I can't understand why people like it. Really honestly.

ha doesn't this just sum gamers up all in one :)

I prefer going to a pub or somewhere where you can actually socialize, when out with my friends in a club its all about the single people hoking up, and the taken people making sure they don't get date raped or something.

And as one of the non-heavy drinkers, i have th job of looking after people, yay!

So... I hate clubs too :)

I've been clubbing probably 10 times. A couple of the times its been a pretty good experience.

I think I enjoy it, but there has to be a lot of factors in place for me to do so:
1. Drunk but not too drunk
2. Good crowd of people
3. Good music (there are a couple of clubs round my university which do indie nights, cheese nights or classic R&B/rap nights, so I'm not stuck listening to trash all night)
4. Just generally in the right mood

All the other times I've gone have been an exercise in boredom, awkwardness and spending long enough there to justify the entry fee.
I'd choose a half decent house party over a club any day.

I know there's a club in my city in which the men's room is unusable, because one of the bouncers inhabits it. He is called Trevor, and he attacks.

I am not fond of this kind of scene. If I'm not drunk I just sit there looking miserable. They say drunkenness reveals your core, but hey, it also turns you into an idiot, because that music is incorrigibly shite, and only a drunk or an idiot would think it was any good, or not care.

Also, I dislike the crowds, which consist of unlikeable people.

They wouldn't be my thing because of how the loud music makes socializing difficult.

Besides, alcohol would be cheaper at my local 7/11 anyway..

Depends on how many people you go in with.

If you go in alone it's going to suck.

If you go in with like a large group it gets pretty crazy and awesome fast.
Exactly, with the right group of people it's really fun.
Start off at home, go for a drink in the pub and the spend the last two/three hours in a club, dancing to shamelessly terrible music.

I prefer softer more relaxed clubs rather than the noisy huge music lights ones. Theres a local Jazz spot around where I live that I love and if feel like dancing there a Salsa/merangage place I know of as well.

It all comes down to taste really.

I have yet to see a nightclub that is worth any attention. Although i bet they'd go out of business, because the target audience is too small.

It's fun to do with friends. Solo there's not much to do other than look for casual encounters.

I have a sneaking suspicion that only about half of the people that are actually in a club are in any way enjoying themselves. There's literally not a single comment on this thread like "yea, I love clubbing!".

Love drinking. And lots every time! But clubs? Thats a nono for me. Prefer spending my weekends unconscious on one of my friends floor! Or a pub/bar :)

I love them, if you get a big crowd going its banter central, plus you have the hot girls! Only downside is that they all need to invest in aircon!

Yeah I don't mind clubs.

There are a few around town that I like going to, assuming im with the right crowd of people. I'll dance if I'm drunk enough and I like the music, so aslong as I don't have to pay to get in I'm happy.

I like the nightclub that my girlfriend and I frequent, but they DON'T pay top-40 dance music. I also like dancing to trance, punk, industrial and ska, which is all stuff they play at said nightclub.

I also met my girlfriend there, and we still go there most Saturday nights. Mind you, we split a jug of beer between us, and that's enough booze for the night.
