So i was on xbox360achievements.org when i came across this article. I'll let you read it through first...

How did Black ops win? How did all of those other games that you're probably thinking about not get in there?

By far the largest pile of bull-cross-horse shit news I've ever heard. I think the majorty of gamers Guinness asked were born into this generation. Which is the worst to be born in by far.

What the hell? The Force Unleashed 2? Super Mario Bros? Infamous?

That explains it. It wasn't a serious thing, just a popularity contest.

Fans of Call of Duty? Probably.

Here is how many games are present on that list and also of this generation: 33/50 (to my knowledge) and too many games are of the same franchise.

Y'know, I'm struggling to even remember how Black Ops ended.

You strangled a bloke QTE-style for being too Russian, then you were in the water for some reason, then there that scene with the ships and fighter jets that made me want to laugh and throw up at the same time and then... roll credits?

Oh, and at time point they strongly implied that you killed Kennedy.

EDIT: Oh wait, it all makes sense now. The key word there is "voted".

All people are stupid except for me, hurr hurr, etc etc.

It's all a popularity contest, but I'd like to say that Black Ops actually does have a pretty good ending. The Navy photo op at the end was kind of silly, but the entire ending sequence was pretty intense, with a nice little curveball at the end. Certainly not the best ever, but given the options they were likely choosing from they could have done much worse.

Also, come on. JFK and pals fighting zombies was great.

Meh. People voted for what they know, are you really surprised? Personally I'd have gone for MGS4 (maybe RDR, if Jack's revenge had been done better), but 13000 people probably aren't going to agree.

It's surprising how few people get that the ending of Black Ops wasn't meant to be 'Fuck yeah, America'. That scene was over the top for a reason; you're seeing that scene as the reality dawns on you that you were a puppet the entire time, and that you were in fact Kennedy's assassin. The scene is meant to appear almost comical to juxtapose the fact that your character is an anti-American sleeper agent.

The game's story isn't award winning, but I enjoyed it over most other Call of Duty campaigns. Sure it was sometimes hard to keep track of, but at least it required a level of intelligence from the audience.

In related news, scientists have discovered a race of flying, hyperintelligent pigs on some remote island, and I just committed suicide because I don't want to live on this planet anymore.

The whole game was pretty shocking in my opinion, the story was really shoddy & it didn't seem to work. The ending was stupidly gungho & the Kennedy assassin bit seemed both ludicrous and tacked on.

CoD sells millions of copies of every game.
The awards were hosted on a xbox 360 website.
Many gamers play CoD probably exclusively.
It was collected from 13,000 people. A tiny amount.

It makes sense that it won. Stop whining guys.
