COD4... still the best of the bunch

I loved COD4 until I quit for a few months and when I came back they had implemented new maps and I was totally lost and getting owned (which sucked cause i had well over a 2:1 KD). Ive never gone back even though after playing MW2 I kinda want to just for the servers.

God yes... the idle sway. It's much more noticeable after playing MW2 for a while, that M4 swings around like hell...

I completely agree with the OP?s opinion, on how Call of duty 4 seems to have a faster pace of action than Modern warfare 2. I actually loaded the game up last night for nostalgic reasons, and found that I actually enjoy it far more. Also I seem to be better at Call of duty I suck at modern warfare 2.

I find the general standard of players is MUCH higher in COD4.

I see amazingly skillful kills in the killcam all the time, as opposed to the corner camping, harriers and akimbo spamming of MW2.

I went back to CoD4 as well. It doesn't have as many bells and whistles, but the balance is much much better and the maps aren't camperrific.

I'd say it still is the best at what it does, MW is great too but I think CoD4 has the better maps.

Reinstalled COD4 last night and had a couple of games, and enjoyed it more than any MW2 games I've played in the last month.

The pace is so much faster, everyone rushes and it just has a much bigger fun factor... I can't quite place why, it just does.

I quit MW2 a week ago because I wasn't enjoying it, it was just too much rage.

Funny thing is, I'm terrible at COD4, my ratio is 0.98, while I am much better at MW2 (1.7 ratio), but playing COD4 is just much more fun to me, even though I die a lot more.

Has anyone else gone back to, what I feel, is still the superior Call of Duty game?

Or do you feel it's dated now and you prefer to move forward for good?

completely agree on all levels, except for that i haven't gone back..no one i know at all plays cod4 anymore, so for the small amount of time i do play codmw2 i play with my friends for some "mehh", but your completely right about hte rage and everything, (my stats are screwed up due to family playing) but on average i have a 1.4 in codmw2, but i still get pissed off about it, and on cod4, never had that problem, and i had a 1.25, the maps were 100x better imo on cod4, most of the maps on mw2 are awful compared to the old ones

I disagree, I find Call of Duty: World at War is much better, partly because I love the atmosphere of world war 2, and mostly because Flamethrowers are FUCKING AWESOME!

I really liked that one too, I dunno why everyone hates it so much.

Storming the Reichstag was a real adrenaline buzz moment.

The soundtrack was great too.

I hated the multiplayer though because of the annoying Japanese commmentator...

What a coincidence, my friend and I today were just talking about going back to CoD4. I don't know if you remember, but a week or two ago you told me about quitting MW2 and recommended it to me. Well turns out, as of today I decided to quit it. No game has ever made me rage so much.

I will likely go back to CoD4, one of the greatest games of this generation that MW2 could not top (multiplayer-wise anyway). I'd like to thank you for your advice on quitting, and I have a feeling my gaming life will greatly improve as a result.

I have to say, I'm glad that instead of the hate I half expected, I've stumbled across some like minded indivuals.

Will 1182, I do have a faint recollection of preaching at people to go back and try COD4 again, and I'm glad that you agreed with me.

Even tonight, I played 3 private matches of MW2 and raped everyone of my buddies to shit, but all the while thinking 'this would be so much more fun and challenging on Crash'.

They would have destroyed me on COD4, and it would have been glorious.

I actually think they're both as good as each other. MW2 is basically MW1 with more bells and whistles.

Having said that, Call Of Duty 1 & 2 trumps them both.

I still like MW2 better for the multiplayer. CoD4 is a better game overall, though- I'm with you there.

But if it got too annoying or just too aggravating... I would just play again in 15 min or so. Mostly because I kept thinking to myself "this game will not beat me" and kept playing it until I break the relationship off on my terms.

Yes I prefer Cod4 over MW2, I don't own MW2 but i've played a bunch at my friends house.

One thing MW2 did do right though is sec ops, to bad my friend isn't to fond of it.

Yeah spec ops took a while for me to warm to it, but after trying it on Veteran with one of my buddies I suddenly fell in love with it.
