Why o why would you ever celebrate the death of another person? Understandable is celebrating the end of tyranny (it won't be yet, despite his death however) that has been ongoing for longer than 40 years time, but is death really the only option at hand, and thus considered success? It's not like the man held Libya in control with him, Gaddafi and himself. He is not the main issue, rather many other factors that were into play and supported his cause.
Do we not possess any kind of ethical, honorable stand where we treat each others as equals despite our differences, despite our choices in life? Or was such ideals and morals thrown away as soon as someone cruel as him got into power? A slight exception?
Next thing we know, we'd ought to import guillotines and have some heads chopped off from corrupt politicians' necks. After all, why bother with fair trials when you could just execute them on sight and throw your hats in the air.
I'd like to point out I'm not defending the man, but the morals here. And indeed, I'm not doubting they could had approach this any better in their position, although if you wish for democracy, ring it in by putting the very tyrant on a fair trial, which he'd inevitably lose. That would would make great history, rather than "bang, *****'s dead".
But, whatever. It's kind of traditional now, just kill people who are bad and be done with it. Maybe a party afterwards, depending just how wrong they went...
