The last time we tried to make this work a large amount of problems hit us and we fell short of the finish line, but I hope this will work this time, it is already written and we're just looking for people to come take part.

Please send all questions to me via PM and sheets spoilered so as to keep this thread relatively clean, but basically you can have an elemental god of any proportions so long as they fit in the atmosphere, and they have to fit a an element, although they don't have to be conventional, in the last one we had gods of metal and decay, so let your imaginations run free.

Name:

Element:(fire water lightning earth light dark etc etc, choose whatever you want)

Physical description:(How large you are, what you look like)

History:(where you have been dwelling all these millennia since the fall of the humans, and what you did while there were humans)

Bio:(A little about how you act, what you're like, gentle, aggressive, wise or ravenous.)

[HEADING=1]Colossus - War of The Gods[/HEADING]

The Human race was always destined to fail. A brief glimmer of fire in a gigantic dancing never-ending clockwork.

The Colossi were there from the beginning, but not in their known form, at the beginning all the elements worked in utter harmony, a single entity ruling over all. Many human cultures called it God, in a way they were right to. Throughout human history people have worshipped the elements, there were those who worshipped the sun for the driving power it had, there were those who praised the water for her sustenance, however you want to look at it, the elements were and still are Gods, driving the world.

The human race reached its zenith quickly and to the gods, rather unexpectedly, they rose, and just as quickly fell, leaving the world desolate and maimed from their self conjured flames. After a time the God tired of nothingness, so upset with his failure he drew into himself, feeling the dying screams of the entire human race. He fractured from the pain, his mind and form splitting into the elements over which they had ruled. With the Human race long gone, only ruins and wounds covering the earth left, the Colossi once again roamed the earth.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

Now the earth stands on the brink of rebirth, a new age of beings inches away from creation, but without a ruler they are helpless, godless. They are no more than blind screaming wretches, no purpose or thought. Now the colossi must fight, fight for the right to rule once again, fight for their element to reign supreme over the new ages. The age that had just past was the age of light and fire, the sun controlling all elements, heating and cooling the others at will, but all of this is soon to change.

Now the colossi gather, all pulled towards a point. The earth's form has changed much since the humans, the continents have shifted, but you may think of their location as what used to be Europe, but America has crashed into it, almost merging them. The battleground is a mixture of the age old deserts of the sahara, the mountains of the alps, the great atlantic waters, lava and fire from the meeting of the continents, and the cold of the north.

The mist has cleared, the war has begun.

Earthfather is back for MkII. This time however, I think a little more care in the selection process would be wise; I wasn't too fond of some characters and their players...

How will this progress? Will we all just be fighting each other until there is only one left or are we searching for some mcguffin that will make us THE god or what?

If you allow it I'd like to have Dreth be used in this one as well.
Name: Dreth

Element: Decay

Realm: A large swamp within Siberia, although he has taken to stalking through the ruins of nearby human cities, savoring their slow destruction.

Physical Form: Dreth is a large humanoid easily six stories tall at about 65 feet. His upper half appears somewhat human, although it is the form of a hunch-backed human. His body is gaunt and wasted, as though from sickness or age and his limbs long and emaciated. The skin covering his face is tight, giving him a leering skull visage, made all the more authentic by his yellowed teeth and empty eye sockets. He is actually only somewhat solid though and can reform his body if he has enough time. He wears what appears to be a robe, but it is very tattered and worn. Most of his body is covered with muck and rotting plant life that bulks out his silhouette somewhat. This becomes very thick lower down, to the point where his legs remain unseen and he appears to wear something of a dress of dead debris. He also seems to constantly drip fetid mud and stagnant water from the tears in his body, all brown-black in color, but never seems to loss any mass either. He also seems to release some faint fumes that float upward off of him leaving a trail in the sky behind him along with the one he leaves on the ground.

Fighting Style/Powers: Dreth's fighting style is very much one of attrition. Although he does not have many comparatively powerful attacks, once he starts fighting it is only a matter of how long can his enemies hold out against him and while he normally moves in a slow and steady fashion, when angered he can move frighteningly quick in short bursts. The fumes emanating from his body increase greatly, turning the area around him into a fog choked area of noxious gases. Anything staying too long in this cloud will continually decay at an increasing rate; even the hardest rock or metal will rust or begin to crumble eventually. Dreth can also shoot streams of the acid sludge that leaks from his body, whether from his hands or mouth, which will likewise eat away at anything covering it. This also is a convenient way to blind or similarly rob the sense of his opponent if he can properly splash them. While he is not relatively strong or tough, Dreth stills manages to survive direct attacks somewhat due to his semi-solid state.

Bio: For most of his life, Dreth stayed in a state of semi-slumbered in swamps and similar areas. He would stir somewhat during times of mass extinction as species would die off the face of the Earth, where he might stalk amongst the remains. It was during the wars starting in the 19th century that left thousands of corpses to rot did Dreth finally begin to fully awaken. It was during the final act of destruction by humanity, the ending of itself, did Dreth fully become aware. He began to feel the civilizations of humanity themselves begin to decay around him and he was pleased. He also began to feel the movement of other beings, greater than the humans, many of whom began to shape the world around him. As is his nature, Dreth begins to focus on bringing these new arrivals down, as he believes should be done to all things.

Well from what I saw in the last one, while the fight between the Colossi did seem to be the major driving point, other forces seemed to be thrown into the mix as well. And we didn't have alot of PvP before the RP came to a halt. Alot was positioning and diplomacy before the big battle was to ensue.

That was the idea behind the reboot, this time I will try and make it work to the best of my ability.

That is the overall idea, but we won't know until the end, as the story says, the last age was rules by two elements.

Yes, I was hoping that last time there would be more fighting, but everyone pretty much teamed up except for the doctor and that other guy.

i want in again! *goes off to scavenge for Amphitrite's sheet*

Name: Like most gods, the water goddess had gone by several names. The one she likes the most is Amphitrite, the name she had been called by the ancient Greeks.

Element: Water

Realm: Amphitrite is present in every drop of water, from the ocean to the lakes to the rain, however she concentrates her consciousness in the abyss at the very bottom of the ocean.
Physical form: Amphitrite has 2 forms: one of them is that of a woman with long hair, with her top half extending out of the water some 30 feet. She is translucent, molded from the waves themselves, and her bottom half is fused with the water. She has ancient markings on her face that glow a pale blue, like moonlight. Her other form is that of a great dragon, its size only restricted by the amount of water it can draw in. It has 7 heads from the 7 seas, and heavy claws made fashioned from coral.

Fighting Style/Powers: Amphitrite does not fight in her first form, relying more on negotiation and non-violence. In her second form, she can form huge tsunamis as that travel as fast as a jet plane, with the height again restricted by the amount of water present (for example if she creates the biggest wave, her form will become very small). She can form whirlpools that can drag you to the bottom of the sea (average depth of the sea is 12k feet. Good luck. Mwahaha.) Each of the dragon heads have sharp teeth made of the bones of various sea animals, and the claws. If a head is severed, she can regenerate it as soon as it comes back into contact with the water again, so she can also heal cuts easily.

Bio: Amphitrite blamed herself for the demise of the human race (humans are ~60% water after all) and tries to think of ways she could have saved them, despite the fact that she had suffered the brunt of humanities evils. They hunted and killed all of her residents, they poisoned her with toxic chemicals, and they were never grateful. Still, she felt a bond with them, and longed for them to return to their original homes in the sea.

Name: Stonder
Element: thunder storms
Physical description: He is a 30feet skeleton surrounded by thunder clouds just around the bones, around his feet there are constant lightning strikes. His eye sockets contain balls of lightning; he also has a whip made out of lightning called thunder. His voice is deep and booming, when he talks his mouth doesn?t move but lightning flashes can be seen in the clouds around his mouth area. The storm clouds become more violent the angrier he gets.
History: he remained in the skies during the times of humanity without his bones; he is and was all the thunder storms, meaning to conserve his energy for now there are no thunder storms, he hated humans for having more freedom then he had. After the fall of humanity he spent time recovering his bones so he may fight for power.
Bio: Stonder is hot headed and starves for power, meaning he uses both force and deception in order to achieve his goals. He starves for power now as his time looking down at man only being able to strike random spots has made him feel like he got the short straw of the colossi and now wants to rectify that.
hope you like it

It's ok, but it needs some tweaking, in grammar among other things, but I'll keep you a reserved spot till you're done preening it.

Hello, hello! I do hope I can be of some entertainment, and that you all can be the same to me.
Name: Couth

Element: Chance

Physical Description: Whichever form seems most convenient. Couth's form is constantly changing, reacting to both his mood and environment. Though with great concentration and effort Couth can from a specific form for a good amount of time, he mostly allows his body to change randomly. His skin texture, size, color, and shape individually changes at the same rate of blinking in humans.

Fighting Style/Powers: He has the ability to control anything around him, though with the limit of their having to be a chance of it happening. After all, anything anywhere can happen at anytime, and Couth can "nudge" things to a certain extent. So with little effort he could make a bad-tempered bear explode in a fit of fury, though much extra effort would be needed to "nudge" the right chemical reactions in the bear's stomach to make it literally explode.
Couth also has a low-key version of premonition. He knows the possibilities of what could happen in the future simply sensing the area around him and gathering all the facts about it. It's never 100%, though, it just makes him a good guesser.
This makes Couth a opportunistic fighter, mostly trying to find ways to use the environment rather then fight his opponent head on. He can use his shape shifting powers to fight, though the effort it takes to stay in a single form quickly tires him out.

History: Before the time of the first humans, Couth mostly played with other living beings, making his home in whichever environment had the most bio-diverse community. He spent his time experimenting with species, seeing what a freak accident did here or less competition did there. It never really entertained him much, the changes always so small and taking forever to show any effect.
But then came humans, and Couth had the time of his immorality.
Before with animals, little pokes and prods would take several generations to show any effect, but one nudge with a single human could change the face of the earth within a decade! Couth would spend many happy centuries following certain humans or populations around, where one nudge could lead to a great leader or a mass criminal lord, where a couple nudges could send a peaceful community to mass hysteria, where the death of one could mean the saving of thousands!
It was fascinating to watch, and a great disappointment when the human race finally fell. But he sees promise with the new batch of beings, and wishes to have his experiments with them once again.

Bio: "Path of least resistance" is Couth's motto. He doesn't like to put much effort into style or grace when an easier option is available. And if he wants something fun or interesting to happen, he'll find a way to make it happen no matter what. He has no concern for the other Colossi, though if he finds them useful he will readily partner with them.
Whenever he isn't actively making changes himself, he enjoys watching other beings and Colossi, seeing what consequences their various actions bring them. He'll be glad to bring favorable chances to the beings, though only if they can convince him it'll be worth his time.

Well, I'm very much interested in this, but as of tomorrow I probably won't be able to post at all until monday or tuesday since I'll be out of town, so if it starts before then I may be a little late in joining.

Name: Aeon

Element: Time

Physical description: Aeon's form is always unique in that it constantly changes the age it appears to be, ranging from a very small young child to a shriveled old man. Even at his smallest, he is still well over 10 feet tall. At all ages he appears as a fairly normal, although incredibly large, human. He is normally clean shaven, but in his older ages he can have a long flowing beard, and has medium length silver hair in all forms. He always wears glasses and a pure white suit and tie and is always of a somewhat slender build.

Fighting Style/Powers: Aeon's control over time can be a bit difficult to use in combat. In order to be able to affect such mighty beings as the Colossi, Aeon must concentrate all his power onto a certain area, instead of simply being able to stop or slow down time in general. In those areas, Aeon can stop, speed up, or slow down time, although time can only be stopped for a little while. As a result, Aeon finds it more effective to set traps to impede or disorient his foes and strike while they are caught in his trap. He carries a silver longsword to deal with any who fall into his traps.

History: History naturally has little meaning to Aeon, who has sort of jumped around from time period to time period. He has seen the world both before and after the fall of man and stumbled upon this particular period by accident. It seemed like an interesting time to be around, so he decided to stay and see how it all played out.

Bio: Aeon is quite enigmatic and likes it that way. He almost never reveals his true intentions, not just to keep his plans secret, but because he simply enjoys keeping people guessing. In this sense, his love of traps and tricks in combat is sort of a reflection of his personality. Also, his mastery of time has given him quite a bit of arrogance.

Seems a bit overpowered and tricky, I'd be ok with it if you changed a couple things though, such as limiting yourself to maybe two or three forms, or even just one who morphs very slightly due to environment or mood. Other than that I like your bio and history, and the rest of your powers, although I don't want you going "saw that move coming *dodge*" too much or god modding the other gods elements with your chance.

How will this progress? Will we all just be fighting each other until there is only one left or are we searching for some mcguffin that will make us THE god or what?
Well from what I saw in the last one, while the fight between the Colossi did seem to be the major driving point, other forces seemed to be thrown into the mix as well. And we didn't have alot of PvP before the RP came to a halt. Alot was positioning and diplomacy before the big battle was to ensue.
also, sorry I missed yours, accepted.

Name: Icarian

Element: Cold

Physical description: Icarian does not look terribly imposing at first glance, appearing to be a large human man, perhaps seven feet, with stark-white hair and palely glowing blue eyes, clad in gray metal and holding a sword of crystal. However, this is merely an avatar of Icarian's true nature, a projection. Icarian's true form is a gigantic, demonic-looking squid, unimaginably enormous, buried under a mile of ice at the south pole.

History: In ancient times, before the rise of men, Icarian reigned over much of the world, holding it in the grip of his glaciers. The march of the ice seemed relentless, Icarian's power unstoppable until a group of Colossi unified against him and marched upon his estates in the north pole. There they did battle for seven years, until Icarian was pierced with their spears and blades and could battle no more. He fell, shattering the sheet of ice and plunging into the oceans. It was believed that Icarian had been destroyed.

In truth, Icarian lived on, although his injuries left him helpless for many millennia, all the while a cap of ice formed around his body, a great tomb for the sleeping God. He would not awake for twenty thousand years, and when he awoke, he saw the desolation that had visited the world in his absence, the pain, the horror, and the rage burned in his heart.

Bio: Icarian is a gentle soul who simply wishes to see the world unsullied, and to him the best way to protect the world is to stop it, to cover the world in a sheet of ice for all eternity, where it will be safe. However, the attempt to kill him and his subsequent imprisonment have left him bitter and angry.

Fighting Style/Powers: Icarian's presence is most often announced by a sudden chill in the air, water beginning to ice, frost accumulating, snowfall, hail and sleet. Normally, he is content to take the slow road, his glaciers slowly covering the world, but when he is inevitably attacked, he moves with surprising swiftness, animating the ice into an army while he begins to separate the ice entombing his true form. Once he is freed of his tomb, he focuses on fighting physically, striking with his many tentacles. The tentacles are quite deadly, so cold they will burn flesh on a strike and if they wrap around, will begin seeping the warmth right out of your body.

He starves for power now as his time looking down at man only being able to strike random spots has made him feel like he got the short straw of the colossi and now wants to rectify that.
hope you like it
I presume adding fighting style seeing everyone else has, and about the grammar, I try my best but being dyslexic does mean I think the grammar isn't that bad in the character sheet. I can admit that the writing on the character sheet is inconsistent as I do add and remove ideas a lot while writing the character sheet.

Even at his smallest, he is still well over 20 feet tall.

All good, although I don't want you god modding with your time powers. And as for missing stuff, we're starting once I feel we have enough people.
No worries I won't. I tried to make the powers seem fair and balanced in the description and I'll continue to keep it that way as the RP progresses.

Holy carp it's back!

Give me a sec, I need to pull my old sheet back up.

Name: Velox Vulpes

Element: Fire

Realm: Deep within the sun-scorched sands of the Sahara Desert.

Physical form: In one of the old tongues Velox Vulpes literally meant "Swift Fox", and such is reflected in his form. When merely walking amongst the earth, V.V. takes the form of a fox about three times the height of an average human (about 18' from tail to nose). Small columns of smoke are emitted from his burnt orange mane as he walks. Although he is physically far smaller than the other Colossi, his powers and speed far make up for it.

Fighting Style/Powers: V.V. is physically very weak compared to the other Colossi but his powers lie in other techniques. When running at full tilt V.V. is able to maintain speeds just under Mach 1 for around an hour. Also, his skill with flamecraft is only limited by the amount of oxygen around him and his ability to focus on it. These skills allow him to engulf himself in flames many magnitudes his own size and move these fiery creations at extreme speeds. Because of this, V.V. views his combat in a very artistic way. One of his favorite techniques is to craft his feverish creations into highly intimidating forms (fiery dragons, blazing wolves, etc.) to catch his opponent off guard. Since his ability only creates fiery constructs without an actual physical body, V.V. is also able to completely engulf opponents in his burning forms. When the time calls for it, V.V. also has the ability to cause his entire body to erupt into magma, swelling his physical form up to 3000 times his original size. The air quickly cools the outer layer of magma, creating a protective shell of rock giving him considerable strength and defense. This power comes with a serious trade off. V.V. loses his speed in this form and his flame conjuring abilities lose their finesse making him unable to create flames up to his stylistic standards.

Bio: Contrary to what one may expect from his element, Velox Vulpes is very calm and collected in all of his dealings with both Colossi and humans. Rage very rarely burns in his eyes. If anything truly plagues the swift fox, it is his great arrogance and his love of the art of fighting. Great care and pride is taken in his battle strategies and the art he creates on the battlefield. He is also proud of his shrewdness in his dealings with man, first teaching them to use flame many millennia ago and then guiding them to attribute it to a fictional "titan". He also guided a massive exodus of slaves from a desert land by way of a flaming pillar to their promised land, never actually exposing his physical form to them. For the last several centuries V.V. has not revealed himself to anyone, contenting himself to focus on improving his pyromancing abilities in solitude over the sun-baked sands of the desert. Little does he know how soon he will have to put these skills to good use...

Name: Gurrex

Element: Force

Realm: Gurrex is and was everywhere in all of creation, wherever force was applied in any form.

Physical Form: Gurrex varies in form between three preferred appearances, but all have several common traits. All forms appear to not truly be there, instead a sort of outlined figure from the tremendous pressure being applied to his body. All forms have glowing yellow "eyes". All forms have varying degrees of effect on the environment around them by their mere presence

At his smallest he is the size of a human, with the correct proportions of an adult male. But the pressure in this form is so immense the ground begins to shake as soon as he takes this form, and a substance that appears to be the shimmer in the air from intense heat radiates for several feet off of his body. He has a fully developed, normal looking face in this form, though, and he tends to take it when communicating with lesser beings.

The medium sized form is not what a human would call medium. It is easily thirty feet high, and extremely peculiar in shape. It is blocky, almost mechanical in form, and stubby. While its arms are of normal length, its legs are half the size one would expect for a creature its size, and it has no head to speak of. Instead its massive yellow eyes and extremely large toothy mouth are where its torso should be. The pressure here is still enormous but it only takes effect when he moves, but with much greater force. He prefers this form when fighting, and when talking with other Colossi.

His final form is one he only takes when he is attempting intimidation, or something that requires him to be of massive size. He grows to approximately 300 feet high, and his entire body becomes as black as night, and almost scratchy, as if static were preventing his form from being entirely there. He has long, spindly limbs in this form and his eyes take up most of his face save for a small mouth at the bottom. This lanky form is still by far his most powerful, and devastating earthquakes have a tendency to erupt just by him being there. His steps leave craters dozens of feet deep, and his arm motions create bone-breaking gusts of wind. It is only a form to take when the devastation he creates is preferable to whatever he is stopping.

Fighting Style: Gurrex is a firm believer in the power of strength and will. This ties in, luckily, to his own abilities. His blows apply tremendous pressure to whatever he touches, capable of flattening most non-Colossi opponents in the first punch. Lesser mortals can be immobilized just by coming near his more powerful forms. In his medium form he tends to prefer melee combat, pummeling his enemies with repeated punches and shouts that impact them with tremendous force. In his largest form he leans more toward a nuking strategy, merely focusing all of his power in a variety of forms all on one general area, and destroying everything within it.

History: Gurrex has forever played the role of the great preserver, devoting his time to holding all of reality together. From the bonds that hold the tiniest of atoms together to the hurricanes that devastate coasts Gurrex has worked to keep the balance of nature. He had little love for the wildlife, thinking of them as nearly another part of the balance that he did love, to preserve as working cogs.

But the humans were something different altogether. While animals applied force of their own, humans were on another level entirely, massively upsetting the balance that had been in nature for all time. And yet, Gurrex could not hate them. He was fascinated with the ferocity and speed with which they tackled life, and all that they could accomplish in their tragically short lives. With every blow of a hammer, or raising of a barn he was with them, watching their progress with admiration. Then, with the most force they had ever produced, Gurrex helped the humans destroy themselves.

Bio: Gurrex is a very lonely entity, who feels conflicted that his own realm is that which holds together great evil as well as good. He wishes he could release all of his bonds, but holds them together out of necessity, for without him everything would unravel, including the few things he holds dear. He sees promise in this new group of creatures, and intends to guide them well, so that they will not be destroyed as the humans were.
