Square-Enix and Bioware. Square's production values and combat mechanics combined with Bioware's writing. You know you want it!
why square havent done anything since final fantasy 8 on the other hand eidos could do well with that partnership.
I'm pretty sure Square's last good thing was Chrono Trigger

It does hurt to think about, in the terribly horrendous way.

Ugh Square has had terrible combat mechanics lately imo, Bioware is better off without them.

OT: Pepsi and Coke just so that I can get a coke at taco bell.
square have terrible combat mechanics they do happen to own eidos which have good mechanics like total overdose and just cause 2
Just Cause 2 wasn't that good, also don't Quad-post, it makes Baby Batman cry.

This.

Although, I'd hope that Valve would influence Blizzard into putting more effort into the shooter genres.

Rockstar with the guys who made S.T.A.L.K.E.R (can't remeber their name). Imagine an incredibly atmospheric, open world, well produced, high budget, FPS set in the chernobyl zone with good characters, story and missions. Now that's a game i would buy.

Neither Valve or Blizzard (Especially not Blizzard) have terribly good graphics. Recently, Blizzard seems to only live off of WoW and make mediocre RTS's saved by polish and presentation. Valve does do pretty good storytelling though.

All in all though, that mix up confuses me.

Microsoft+Apple...lets count how many heads explode. But actually think about the super powered computers that would be created if those two combined their abilities.

As for ones i really would like to see though would be Blizzard and Bioware. Ah yeah

My vote goes to Microsoft and Sony so we can stop the pointless flame wars. We could even get some sort of inbred hybrid superman console.

Since when did graphics mean the world? Blizzard and Valve may not make anything along the lines of Cyrsis, but they both have style.

Don't blame Blizzard for making money. They have a good game with a deep story. Have you seen the arguments that go on in Blizzard forums about the details of lore? The place flipped when Draenei were announced. I'll also tell you that your opinion of Blizzard's games are yours. I've enjoyed all their recent releases.

Both companies have shown themselves to be competent game developers with very high standards, and both make beautiful games with great stories. The only real difference is in the genres they specialize in.

Well there both heavy pc companies and graphics are more important to a pc user in some ways like is portal 2 going to have DX11 ?

Rockstar and Bethesda. Pretty much a new Elder Scrolls game with better physics and voice acting.

I wasn't the one who brought up graphics, and yes they both have their own style, but I'd say only tf2 has graphics worth touting. TF2 certainly doesn't have the best textures or models or anything, but their style is unique and it fits the game well, unlike Blizzards cartoony style, which doesn't fit Starcraft's grim, space and 'badass' themes.

I suppose I can't blame Blizzard for making money. I can however, blame their fans for at lesat giving the impression that they can't handle change, even good change. Unfortunately yes, my opinion of Blizzard's recent releases does indeed seem to be my own.

Both companies have high standards in presentation and polish, but it seems only Valve wants to change things up and think outside the box. Both companies make attractive games, but the way I see it, Valve has far more substance.

Yeah, I probably should have made my point clearer, sorry about the graphics things.

Now, to me at least, the graphics fit with Starcraft. Blizzard has always been a company that makes tongue-in-cheek games. That's apparent when you click on the marines a few times or make a sheep explode. You can take the game completely seriously, but at the same time appreciate the humor in it.

I can't speak for the fans.

In Blizzard's defense, it has a few franchises, but all three have good stories to draw ideas from. That's one of the main reasons Valve and Blizzard could work so well together. Blizzard has a wealth of lore and Valve has fun ways to turn it on it's side and present things in new ways.
