Micrappoogle would rule the world.
I would not agree that the graphics in Starcraft 2 fit. Warhammer 40k is very much tongue-in-cheek, but it doesn't insult you by having a kiddy art style (tf2 does not have a kiddy art style, it's Pixar goddamit!). To me, a lot of the charm with 40k is the (sometimes) subtlety of the satire. To clarify, Team Fortress 2 is ok, due of the juxtaposition of Pixar style with the over-the-top gore and combat found in TF2. Starcraft doesn't satire the gore, and therefore no juxtaposition is made.Midnight Crossroads said:Yeah, I probably should have made my point clearer, sorry about the graphics things.
Now, to me at least, the graphics fit with Starcraft. Blizzard has always been a company that makes tongue-in-cheek games. That's apparent when you click on the marines a few times or make a sheep explode. You can take the game completely seriously, but at the same time appreciate the humor in it.
I can't speak for the fans.
In Blizzard's defense, it has a few franchises, but all three have good stories to draw ideas from. That's one of the main reasons Valve and Blizzard could work so well together. Blizzard has a wealth of lore and Valve has fun ways to turn it on it's side and present things in new ways.

It never crashed on me just running it at max was never possible and stalker has lots flaws look at the amount fan made mod to just make the game more playable.Mornelithe said:Just because you had problems with it, doesn't mean the rest of the PC playing world did. Crysis and Stalker have yet to crash, freeze or glitch on me. While I've heard that people have had this problem, the 5 people in my immediate circle who have played both series of games, haven't had any issue.murphy7801 said:it will need a billion patches and wont run on system smoothly till 10 years later fun lol.Mornelithe said:GSC Game World (Stalker) and Crytek

Gotta stop you there. Relic. The True Creators of Space Marines on the RTS Market. Or should I say promoters of GamesworkShop?Avaholic03 said:Bungie and Blizzard....You could call them Buzzard, and they would corner the market on space marines.
actually I find adjusting the viewing angle and things like that are helpful on stalker. Y er I can run it max these days but on launch I was talking about.Mornelithe said:I could run it at Max, and the mods are what make Stalker fucking amazing. A modder base roughly the size of the Fallout 3 modder base is definitely ok with me.murphy7801 said:It never crashed on me just running it at max was never possible and stalker has lots flaws look at the amount fan made mod to just make the game more playable.Mornelithe said:Just because you had problems with it, doesn't mean the rest of the PC playing world did. Btw, most of the mods in Stalker, increase difficulty....so technically, it makes it less playable![]()
Amen! Pepsi and Coke are NOT the same!Applejack said:OT: Pepsi and Coke just so that I can get a coke at taco bell.
well these days I have good system just when first came out (crysis) I was a student so could by stuff with all the bells and whistles.Mornelithe said:Many people had that problem hehe, but with time comes better pieces and parts. But, that's one of the things I enjoy about both Crytek and GSC as developers, they are unflinching in their demands on hardware, while at the same time allowing for pretty formidable scaling in their engine. Yes, you do miss out on some of the enviromental/scenic bells and whistles that make Stalker/Crysis brilliant, but, my brother played through both with a less than cutting edge PC, and still came away glad he'd bought them both.murphy7801 said:actually I find adjusting the viewing angle and things like that are helpful on stalker. Edit: with a decent frame rate ! lol
I personally don't think that not having a high-end rig, should mean simply skipping over stellar titles like Stalker. The game has so much to it, the beauty of the engine is really only a part of it.
