Having a stage in Katamari Damacy (or any of it's incarnations) start with you only being big enough to roll up stuff in someone's messy living room. Then have the katamari grow so big that you would be able to roll up continents and even the King himself like in "We <3 Katamari". I WANTED a stage like that.

World War Z in game form.
That would not only defy the epic boundaries set by all epicness but it might also create some of the most memorable moments.
You play as the blind man and everything appears in black and some of the things are outlined with a thin grayish line. You have to rely on sound so you'd be walking around occasionally making noise so that you can see your way around. Then when you actually encounter the zombie you end up going through this adrenaline rush type and get ready for the kill. What follows is a slight variation from the book but you decapitate him then perform a Gears of Warish execution.

For the Battle of Yonkers you would play as two different soldiers one of them who ends up getting stuck and swarmed in the tank so as to provide an emotional moment and the other to set a chase sequence combined with frenzied inaccurate fire from your SAW while trying to find an escape vehicle.

During the Battle for Hope (I think that was the name of it) you'd do basically what they tell you to do but when you take the breaks you talk around with the other soldiers or get some more ammunition.

I guess the part about the dogs could be something like EndWar in which you have to tell the dog what to do based on what you see or hear through the camera and microphone.

I also think that the mercenary that had to deal with those celebrities could make a rather interesting morality choice combined with again, frenzied, panicked, inaccurate bursts from an assault rifle that you have.
There is just so much potential to be had with such an awesome book. I still need to think about how the submarine part would work and also what we would do with the otaku. If only I knew how to make mods.
Nice vault boy by the way.
Did you get him from Vault 77?

EDIT:Aw Man I completely forgot about the mentally disabled girl. That would make an awesome flashback sequence game-style wise.
We really need someone who can make mods as I'm sure that this could work out with enough effort.

Actually it has potential. and you could set it in a war tone african country in an alternate history cold war era under the rule of a dystopian world government

Thanks although looking back you could probably substitute Metal Gear Solid for Splinter Cell and my idea does occasionally take place in a sovietesqe type country

For me it would be a 3rd person fighting game with over 30,000 weapons, where you just keep going lower into a dungeon, mowing down wave after wave of increasingly strange and powerful enemies with a bunch of attacks and aerial manuevers resulting in a gory display from their arteries. And multiplayer wouldn't be filled with 60% jerks. Well, post yours.
Damnit You stole My Idea!

Ok I got one

Saints Row 2 + Fallout 3 + Fable 2 + Farcry 2 + Oblvion IV = My dream Game

Yeah that'd rule...
Unlimited freedom with VATS targeting in a massive open world RPG where the character changed on your choices that would include gun combat as a mercenary or anything else you wanted to be, also included would be tons of quests and perfect fps and tps combat?
Pure Awesomeness

I want a good video game implementation of Roadside Picnic. STALKER did it very badly (but was still a very, very awesome, awesome game).

I also would like to play an FPS where you have to survive in a randomly generated zombie infested city. With current-gen physics and options for how common ammo is and how many zombies and such there are. With cel-shaded graphics. But that is also pretty much an arcade game, where the whole goal is basically to rack up as many points as you can.

I'd still like to play the game that I thought Spore was going to be when I first heard of the concept. Unfortunately, that's not what I was handed.

In 1915 The Great War comes to a screeching halt as a massive rock from space smashes into Moscow, killing millions and destroying the Russian will to fight. Germany turns and manages to use its forces formerly devoted to fighting the Russians against the French and the British, securing a swift German win...and a supposed end to the war.

But then, in the ruins of Moscow, the asteroid has been excavated. It is found to be composed of a mineral completely unknown to the planet Earth...the mineral is named Moskite, after the city it had destroyed, and it is soon found to have amazing powers! Place it in a boiler and the steam that comes out is super efficient! A tiny bit of moskite turns a steam engine into a super device capable of outshining any gasoline driven or electric motor!

Germany and the rest of Europe is rather shocked when the Russian economy is suddenly boosted to amazing new heights by the astounding powers of Moskite. And then steam powered warmachines plow into Germany and the rest of Europe, securing a victory in a few weeks. The United States and Britain desperately seek for their own supplies of Moskite...and find it, in the bottom of the Gulf of Mexico, where an even larger asteroid smashed to Earth and brought about the end of the dinosaurs.

An uneasy silence falls about the world as Americans throw themselves into Moskite technologies with a wild abandon, manging to shake off a slight economic upset in the late 20s and early 30s.

Now, it is 1939. You are a brilliant German who has spent most of their adult life living under Red Russia's iron boot. You are one of the most capable German inventors, however, but you yern to work with Moskite...but only Russians or die-hard commies get to work with those!

And then you are approached by a seemingly innocuous organization called the National Socialist German Worker's party. However, under that name, this group secretly longs for German freedom and a return of the Kaiser. You are brought on board as part of a scheme to steal some Moskite from Berlin's moskite reactor. With that hunk of Moskite, it is hoped that you and other German scientists can work with American spies to create a Moskite Bomb, a weapon of unusual and terrifying power.

However, the plan goes south and the ring leader, a rather short man named Adolph, is shot dead by the guards at the reactor. You are shot in the back and are left for dead...

But you managed to keep a thumb sized bit of moskite on your body and when you crawl your way out of the dumpster the guards (who really didn't want to fill out the paperwork involved with killing someone on the job) tossed you in, you immediately set to getting out of the country. Which is hard, seeing as how the faces of all the members of the National Socialist German Worker's Party were all identified and the entire country is out looking for you...

But you have the moskite and your brain! It is not quite enough of the miraculous mineral to build the Moskite Bomb...but it is enough for you to create a small Steam Cell. The Steam Cell is a small cylinder that is capable of spewing an almost infinite amount of super heated steam in one of two directions. Armed with this, your intellect, a small pocket welding torch, and a helpful/beautiful Irish spy...you have to escape Germany, get to America, and do your best to battle the Red Russian Menace!

The gameplay would be a mostly liniar affair, with the real innovation being in STEAMPUNK, alternate history, and the invention system.

Essentially, you can attach ANYTHING to your Steam Cell (or SC for short). Put a vacume cleaner on it, weld it up right, and you can make an ultra-sucker, that can suck anything to you from any distance. Then attach a pressure gauge and you can switch the direction of the sucking...and be able to blow anything you want away from you!

Put a box of nails onto a funnel ontop of a reversed vacume cleaner, then add a telescope...and you have a long ranged nail gun sniper rifle.

Now, the SC has two sides. You can modify both, giving you a close ranged and long ranged weapon...or two long ranged weapons. Or a sucker on one side and a blower on the other, to make a gravity gun like device. Or...well...anything you want.

Your limitations would be your Steam Power and Water Supply. Water Supply is basically your ammo. Get more water at water fountains (slow) in water bottles (fast and renewable but you need to fill them at somewhere else) or from fire hydrents, or lakes and rivers...or...well, anywhere there is water to be found.

The Steam Power is essentially a complexity limiter. The more doobobbers you put onto your SC, the less Steam Power you have, as it has to be routed through more and more stuff. Now, finding more Moskite will help, as that will increase your Steam Power...but Moskite is very rare. So, if you have 2 super complex guns, they might not have enough Steam Power to fire quickly...you'd have to charge up the steam power using some kind of pressure chamber or something.

Anywho...that's my idea of an awesome game!

THATS IT!! YES YOU ARE RIGHT!!

Everyone here Just Imagine it, Can you see? Pure Awesome
If they made a game like that I'd cry in happiness.
Also I would like fully destructible environments + lots of weapons as-well.
Hmm I believe that it would outsell Halo and be more popular than Islam, (no offense to any muslims of course) It would be infinite Badassery that would dominate the world, a mix of Fallout and Farcry weapons with like swords and shit thrown in. Good god man I think we just created the most perfect thing in the Universe, besides Brazilian Victoria's Secret model Alessandra Ambrosio, but anyway this could be amazing

Yeah, we need more Steampunk in general. The only games I can think of off the top of my head are...Arcanum...and...

Rise of Legends?
