Penny Arcade and xkcd.net if you haven't tried either of those.
It it's web comics you're looking for.

Webcomics or real comics? And what are you into?

The Boys by Garth Ennis, The Walking Dead by Robert Kirkman. i also like the Punisher comics, but thats personal preference because the story line can be a bit sketchy

I just recently got back into comics. I've never been a big collector but I recently got into a comic called Invincible because my friend loves it and lent me the first 3 hardcovers. Its pretty cool, its like a massive collaboration of all the Image comic universe.
Unfortunately The Maxx has not made an appearance yet. Apparently both Pitt and Spawn do though, so that's pretty cool.

Transmetropolitan by Warren Ellis
The Goon by Eric Powell.
Those comics are incredible.

I'd like to put my hat in the rink, and glady rec Cable and Deadpool, Electra:Assasin (the story is so so, but the art is phenomenal), the Amazing Screw On Head, and the Maxx.

The level of nerdyness in this thread is off the charts!

I kid, I kid.

I've only ever read Watchmen and Maus so I'm probably not the best person to ask.

Anything by Kirkman tends to be good. Invincible is what really got me on the Kirkman bandwagon. I would take a look at some of the series that recently ended, like 100 Bullets by Brian Azarello. Y: The Last Man was an exceptional series, and all the trades for that whole series are out now, I believe. Powers by Brian Michael Bendis is a fantastic ongoing series. If you follow anything with the major two, the arcs in the Superman, Batman and Flash series' have been top notch as well.

If it's not web comics *hisses under his breath at the very word* then check out Johnny The Homocidal Maniac... it's possibly the best comic ever written in my eyes.
Don't get the individual issues, of which there are only 7, get the compendium that has all of them and a good few extras too... I have both I love it so much.
Hopefully it's up your street, if not and you want something more serious, sin city or 300 graphic novals by Frank Miller, the watchmen graphic noval by Alan Moore, the preacher graphic novals by Garth Ennis, or the sandman graphic novals by Neil Gaiman.

XKCD, Penny Arcade, VGCats, Digital Unrest, Dresden Codak, and the Order of the Stick are among my favorite webcomics of all time.

I like Transmetropolitan and Watchmen too, as far as IRL comics are concerned.

If you like DC comics, I'd recommend Identity Crisis by Brad Meltzer (or ANYTHING by Brad Meltzer, really). For Marvel, I'd say New Avengers (start from the beginning), House of M, Secret War, Civil War, and Ultimate Spider-Man.

Just a warning on JTHM; it's very much a selective taste. I'm not saying it's bad. It has an incredibly devoted following because of it's unique perspective. I've read the trade, and it was different. It has incredibly....gothic overtones. After all, the series did start out as a strip in a goth mag. It's super twisted.
