I'd likely not do it unless there was an actual reason to do so. I'm a tenacious sonuvabich, I'd try to beat the odds till the very end. If there was a reason to commit suicide, that would be another matter. And by reason, I mean that there would be actual benefits to my death, while my death is assured anyway.

Say, all my friends are incapacitated, but we're otherwise safe in hiding. However, I've been bitten by a zombie and if I don't kill myself I'll turn and attack my friends before they can recover. But I also can't just leave before I turn since that would give away our position. In such a scenario, where I'm dead anyway and my continued existence would have a negative impact, I'd consider slitting my wrists or some such for the greater good.

if it were to save myself from unimaginable pain then yes i would blow my brains out. Though in a zombie apocalypse i would prefer to kill myself by riding on the back of a atomic bomb and nuking a bunch of zombies.

Im a fast runner, I don't need to suicide

Im like Mr. Pink from Resevoir Dogs.
Ya know he still dies at the end of the movie right?
You do know he doesn't die, right?

and to stay on subject, I tried it the other day (no foo-foo-fooling), obviously, I wasn't met with success, so probably not. I would hope I'd go down in the Zombie Apocalypse in a blaze of glory, because I don't think I could do it (Uh, Suicide, that is).

Okay, assuming they aren't romero zombies that take half an hour to get from one side of the room to the other and begin flimsily flailing their arms against my skill in a manner that invokes more pity than terror, and that they are primal forms of murderous humans who have me outnumbered, let's not kid ourselves. I'd most likely pump lead into one zombies face, the rest into the walls or my foot, then get held down and pummeled into submission until they decide to slowly rip my apart, shaving off clumps of skin until they get to those juicy vital organs required to finally make me stop feeling pain.

Yeah, I'd wait it out as long as I can, but in the end, I'd rather not let them have my brain.

I think that due to my low pain threshold, no, I would not be able to.

No matter what the situation.

I would if it was the most painless option. Though I would not just do it instantly. I would probably try go down fighting, and if that failed and the zombies had not killed me yet I would kill myself.

Yeah, I think I could; probably because I've never viewed suicide as something amoral, or cowardly. I figured that once your die, your perception of the world dies along with you, memories, feelings and all. You essentially cease to exist. From a personal standpoint, that doesn't sound so bad, you wouldn't even be able to regret it once it had been done; your capacity to think would be erased, and therefore, your capacity to care.

In this situation the whole moral dilemma of leaving behind loved ones is rendered moot. Presumably, they're already dead, already lost their stake in the world. This decision would be 100% about you. You could chose to kill yourself, and die on your own terms, while sparing yourself a bit of pain. Or you could just wait for death to come and find you.

I suppose either way, it doesn't matter much. In both cases you're rapidly approaching your death. Once everything's said and done it doesn't really matter how you got there -- to you the world might as well cease to exist altogether.

You know, having considered it. That same argument could be made for suicide at any point in one's life. -- "It's all going to end the same way, so why bother?" -- that's very interesting to me.

I'd empty the first clip shooting zombies if they broke in.

I'd probably kill myself after that.

I would try to run for it, if the zombies were about to get me I would make sure I have one bullet left for myself :p

I like to think of myself as someone who doesn't give up, and it's much more badass to go down fighting. Also, committing suicide is a sin, so that's three strikes against it right there.

If there was no water available I would be more worried. You can go without food for awhile depending on your metabolism and body fat, but without water you probably would not outlast the zombie horde. It's easier to wait out the apocalypse with no food than it is with no water.

I would hope that some person or person unawares of the zombie horde outside the door to pass by close enough to draw their attention away and then make my getaway. I run fast, I am good at navigating over and around stuff quickly (not Parkour level good but pretty good) and I have a habit of taking stairs at 3-6 at a time. Otherwise I would try and clear a path in front of the door and try to getaway if the horde couldn't be lured or distracted away. As a last resort I would put one in my head as I was going down. I would rather not be a zombie, I have already been accused of being a Angry Young Man blindly following a crowd in another thread so I would naturally not want to be lumped in with another crowd, that of the Hungry Young Zombies blndly following the crowd to a food source.

There are some details that are too vague to do anything other than make rough guesses at what to do.

Are the zombie Rage type zombies (think 28 Days Later) or the traditional sluggish and uncoordinated zombies?

Is the room devoid of anything at all aside from me, the gun and the ammo? Are there any windows to the room.

What are the immediated surroundings? Urban? Suburban? Rural? Endless open terrain? Are there mountains neraby?

C'mon...provide some more specifics, mix it up a bit hehe.

I?d be more inclined to open the door and just let the zombies do it. That?s if there was no way to get past the zombies and possibly escape. Otherwise I?m a running for it, well not so much run but walk at a steady pace which should be enough if we are talking about slow zombies.
