Has a complaint about a game ever confused you?
For example:
When I saw the reviews of the original Kingdom Hearts, they seemed to complain about the terrible camera a lot. So after some friends convinced me to get it (I wanted to fight Cloud, Squall, and Sephiroth) I found myself confused about the complaints. This camera is bad? Admittedly, I used the lock-on function to target the enemy I wanted to kill first 99% of the time, so maybe that helped me. Still, I couldn't help but feel lied to.
Getting the camera right in any third person game, is going to be a chore. You have to make the player see what you want them to, what they need to, and see all the action on screen so that fights don't become a chore and dangerous obstacles don't remain off-screen until they kill the player.
If you're going to complain about the camera it should be unforgivably bad. The camera should get close up in large action scenes, get stuck in an angle that prevents you from seeing what you need to, or be unwieldy. In my experience, the camera rarely caused me trouble in Kingdom Hearts. If ever! Saying that the camera was bad in Kingdom Hearts was like saying that combat was bad in Assassin's Creed. It might have had some issues, but it functioned very well.
So, Escapists, ever hear/read a complaint that didn't really pan out?
