Computer Help

Hello everyone. I didn't see a group dedicated to computer help so I decided to create one. I will try to be as involved in it as possible. However I do have a full time job that obviously will come first. I will also try to post computer tips on a daily basis. Just wanted to put it out there. Obviously there are no guarantees or warranties so if you don't feel comfortable with any recommendations please take your computer to a local repair shop. I'm a systems administrator for a living and feel comfortable giving advice. Mods if this isn't cool please let me know and I will shut down the group.

I know absolutely fuck al about computers so this will be very helpful i'm sure.
Yu know whats really fucked up? Two years ago i had a cisco systems computer hardware certification thingy. I was pretty much a qualified computer tech. And now i know nothing.

No im saying that everyone should be able to use it for help with their computer or PS3 or whatever (sorry i always seem to call a computer a console, just seems to make sense to me, but im just a stupid girl who doesnt know any better) rather then just making it for computers.

I joined, more of the software sort. Web Developer and Designer by trade. I mostly write PHP/HTML/CSS/JS[limited] but I also find my way into the hardware end too. I'll answer anything I can.

What do you know about Linux out of interest, I am normally fine with windows, its Linux that I have to look up answers for.

I am taking red hat certification. I am halted at the moment because our IT budget is frozen while my company merges with some others. I do know some linux. I use Fedora and Ubuntu regularly.
