Brokeback Mountain.

I honestly don't get why people were so offended. It wasn't even that great a film.
OH NOES GAY COWPOKES

Lord, I remember that particular fallout. The funny thing is, I recall everyone I knew who did see it saying that it was very mediocre as well. It's ironically a movie that succeeded only due to the controversy that surrounded it.

You know what? A game(off-topic here) that attracted no controversy, but should have? Persona 3. It went under the radar thankfully.

The controversy in my area surrounding American History X pisses me off.
All people see is "nurr, moovy bowt natseez, bad fing". My sister actually refused to see it because people said it "encouraged racism".
Yeah, my area is full of idiots.
Is that the movie holding the record for having 'fuck' said the most?

Anything by Michael Moore.

Yes, they're incredibly biased. CONGRATULATIONS! If only you scrutinized your own News Networks with such vigor. Just as a heads up, if you want the facts about something, read about it. Do your own research. Start with Wikipedia if you have to, and then move on from there.

Anything by Moore is meant to convince you of a certain point, not give you the raw facts.
Sicko did give you plenty of facts. I'm not ENTIRELY, 100% SURE that every single one of them is up-to-the-date-to-the-very-nanosecond and flawless but I think he did a pretty good job for that film. Fahrenheit 9/11, on the other hand, had elements present in most conspiracy theories but it should NOT be disregarded just because it's too 'implausible.' You can't say it's implausible unless you actually research every part of it and successfully determine whether it is or it isn't. Otherwise, you're just spewing propaganda or wishful thinking.

No, you're thinking of The Departed. I think.

Not a single Quentin Tarentino film mentioned?

There are some very controversial shit in those films, such as [url"http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LLTqecGbdCc"]this[/url]
Well, most members of the stupid public by now have probably written him off as a shallow gore hound, but I guess Pulp Fiction caused a stir when it came out because of the violence (which is hilarious, because there's almost none, although what little there is IS graphic.)

Martin Scorsese created some controversy by being completely awesome, though.

28 Days Later was controversial for me because the tosser director claimed it wasnt a zombie movie, and the scriptwriter and storyboarders ripped off half a dozen much much much better zombie movies and stories to make that heap of pants that only todays emo kids could love.

People get pissed off whenever anyone challenges the status quo.

p.s. How was Watchmen controversial ?
Sorry for this VERY late reply to your post, before I even get started just know I had a LOT to do before I could get to you.

Watchmen was controversial partly because so many people believed that the comic simply could not be made into a film, ever. Then there was how Alan Moore himself left production and refused to have anything to do with it. Finally there was the fact that of the people who saw it half of them liked it (Me included) and the other didn't.

p.s I actually loved 28 days later but it's cool to think whatever you want.
