I presumed the 'male partner' meant he was gay. Same as you'd assume 'girlfriend' would mean he was straight. It wasn't that radical I didn't think...

I find the entire concpet of changing ones gender to be seriously flawed. For a start its superficial and having the desire to mutilate ones genitals and take maunfactured steroids does not entile one to have special treatment, especially when its on somebody elses money.

No not in general, look if somebody has the time, desire and money to change their sex (which their not its essentially playing dressup to the worst degree), does not mean they get to be looked at by the rest if us as their new gender. If he cares about it that much he can have his sex op, but keep him in mans prison and stop giving him legal aid for frivolus cosmetic surgery and delusions of gender.
