There should be no catering to prisoners; especially a murderer/rapist. He's not a female. Like said in an above post - he should be incarcerated in a male prison until the operation is done.

Last night i was watching and epsido of Law & Order SVU and they struggled to get permission to get a person charged with murder (charged not even convicted) to go aout and donate part of his liver to his dying wife and in real life a convited criminal can go out to have a sex change on the contributors money... WTF!

I was gob smacked to read that a convicted killer and rapist won his case to be moved to a womens prison.

He is undergoing a sex change and in order to get the last part done he needs to live life as a woman, hence move to a womens prison. He challenged the Justice Secratarys decision to send him to a male prison in the high court. Of course this was paid with legal aid, meaning the tax payer has paid the bill.

The judge ruled that it is infringing his human rights not to allow him the operation so he is allowed the move. Apparently it will cost an additional £80,000 to keep him segragated from the female population.

Do you agree with the judges decision? Should he have been allowed to use public finances to make his case?

Stick him in the male prison until he is a woman.. and THEN move him into the womens prison once he has had the operation to make him a woman.

Hopefully he will get a lot of stick for being a "trannie" as he damn well deserves it.

what i don't get is how being in a women's prison will help him transition if he's going to be isolated from all the women anyway.

This person obviously has very deepseated gender issues and leaving them in a male prison will only aggravate these problems. The sex change in the female prison may help them be rehabilitated into society which is the obvious goal of all prisons

I'm confused though... Where does it say the state is paying for his op? I read it but I couldn't see that anywhere. Feel free to correct (not in an unnecessarily mean way).

Anyway, if the state isn't paying then I agree with the decision to be put in a woman's prison. He'll be legally a woman won't he? The article wasn't very clear... Anyway, I don't really see the whole human rights issue. A woman goes to a women's prison. If he's not legally a woman, then suck it up. A man goes to a men's prison.
