Cooking Mama Spinoff is Sexist

I was recently in my local Gamestop when I noticed a game called Science Papa. This made me wonder why Mama is stuck Cooking and Gardening while Papa gets to do science. I mean, Mama's been in games for years, and when they want to make a science game, they have to add a new, male character. I find this game sexist and think the next game should be Protesting Mama, where you play as Mama and attempt to fight for rights. Any thoughts?

Edit: I made this picture

Don't be dumb. Cooking is science. Only you get to eat the results. So now which gender is smarter, eh?

VG Cats had a good comic about this.
OT: ya, I thought it was funny when I first saw cooking mama. But now they add a science game and make it done by a guy? Great job Nintendo...

Wow, the gaming community as a whole is sexist?

WHO THE FUCK WOULD HAVE THOUGHT?!?!?!??!

No one cares. We all know that being sexist sells to the fraternity assholes that buy games, so they try to sell them like that.

One could argue that cooking mama is also sexist since guys can cook too; but who gives a shit.

It makes a change in a way... there has been so much 'positive discrimination' of late, I'm suprised it wasn't 'Deadbeat Papa.'

I love how any source of media that tries to act on stereotype, a foundation of storytelling, automatically makes it sexist or racist nowadays. I suppose that because I pantomimed a gangster in High School for a drama assignment den dat means I be hatin' like a ***** up in dis joint.

Seriously, they're widely accepted stereotypes, and more often than not they wind up playing themselves out as if to reaffirm that they still apply. They're called stereotypes for a reason. Just like a bunch of elitist teens and Civil Rights overactivists will stereotypically jump at the slightest mention of gender roles in order to sound significant and caring. It's not brainwashing the kids, and it's not changing the way the world views its people. Otherwise I would be a scientist and not a cook.

Now shut up and make me a sammich.

OT: Maybe because they don't want to change the current series?
Yes that one.
OT: It wouldn't be as big of a change if they just had the science done by the mama character.

You sir, are the new owner of this thread. These are my thoughts, with less hate and no implication that someone is stupid. Stereotypes about sexes are different from sexism. I'd learn that soon, OP.

Because fraternity assholes are generally into "casual" Nintendo games like Cooking Mama and Science Papa?

...

Okay, that was news to me.

Im glad some one else read that, cause I was like "what the fuck? fraternity assholes buy cooking games?" I think the only prejudices here is against the frat boys, they play games and enjoy them, just because some people cant seem to enjoy a game doesnt mean that others shouldnt be allowed to either.

haha I did like the comic, very well done!

Ugh so many stupid things pop into my head about this.... let's list a few:

"At least they didn't give Mama a huge rack and cook in a bikini."
"They were gonna make a Cooking Papa, but it mostly involved skewering animals over a fire."
"Could be Remote Papa, where you spend the game clicking on a remote to surf channels."

These are all meant to be satirical pokes at stereotypes.

How about we all pretend that women can and often do cook and that men can be and often are scientists and stop being so touchy. Newsflash: the women's rights movement won over 30 years ago. Can we please just grow up and move on, now? Not everything that happens to align with old stereotypes is sexist.
