awh in honesty, It's a hard choice between most of Mass effects races, there are really to many over the last few decades of games to actually pin point one as an all time favorite.

Elites and Hunters from Halo.

The Locust from Gears.

They arn't Aliens (atleast what the OP means by Aliens; Spacefairing creatures from other planets). The Locust from Gears are from inside the planet. They didn't come here from another celestial body.

Gears of War takes place on a planet called Sera so technically even the humans are "aliens"


Also I like the Protoss, Krogan, and the Turians. and if you haven't seen the teaser trailer for Mass Effect 2 check it out, maybe we'll be able to play as an alien race.

The OP means Extra-Terrestrial. So, yes, to us, the people in Gears are "Extra-Terrestrial". However, speaking in relevance of the game which you put yourself in, the Locust are from the same planet you are, which means they are Terrestrial. They are not Aliens.

Extraterrestrial means "not from Terra." So even in the relevance of the game they wouldn't be terrestrial. They're both serrestrial (probably not a real word, probably).

Also, the humans might have come from Earth and colonized Sera. That would make the humans terrestrial and Locust extraterrestrial to them.

As much as I love Protoss, Nautolans, Covenant, Necrons, Wookies, E.T. and even Draenei if they count. The Hooloovoo from Hitch Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy takes the cake for most awesome alien race ever. What is it? A super intelligent shade of blue. Technically he's not from a game, but he deserves a mention.

The humans are native to the planet Sera in Gears of War. It's a made up planet in a made up universe, if they were the invaders then they are the villains, not the locust.

Alright. I'll throw in my selection too.
I'm going to say Eldars here. Though the Elerians get an honourable mention.

The Eldars: extremely long-lived, insane self-control, psychic, and crazy smart space elves. Their only con is the arrogance thing in my book, and there's surely SOME eldars who aren't. Well, there's the whole you-either-turn-into-a-crystal-or-get-your-soul-eaten-when-you-die thing, but whatever! Bonesinger ftw.

The Elerians: Telepathic, Omniscient race of blue skinned space elves. Pretty much like the above, only more aggressive and ruled by females. The first race of space elves I ever played, so yeah. You could always edit them to be something else, so I turned them into scientists. Yaay
